I just booked 2 nights at AKL on the Club Level for next May!!!! We are starting out at the BWV for 5 nights and then moving over here as a special treat! I have been reading parts of this thread and I am so excited about visiting this resort! How early should I e-mail IPO with my requests?

doesn't anyone else think its sad that this thread isn't as active as the others? i think we all need to step it up and start sharing some stuff about AKL! Come on guys are you with me?

Lets Kicks Coronado's butt- after all we are a deluxe!

Hi guys! We are planning our first trip to the AKV next year and as we can only book at the 7 mnth mark we don't yet know whether we will be in Jambo House or Kidani.
If you are staying in Jambo House can you still use the pool etc at Kidani? How far is it between the two sites?
Debsx;)

Members and guest staying at Animal Kingdom Villas can enjoy the amenities of both Jambo and Kidani Village....

There will be a 2500 foot walkway between each porte cochere(front of the buildings) of one building to the other..

Can't wait till Kidani Village opens in May 2009!!! Should be a wonderful addition to an already outstanding resort!:dance3:

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thank you so much for the info, that is great news!!! :cool1: Was a bit worried that if we couldn't get a villa at Kidani my son wouldn't be able to check out the pool and water area!!! But now we get the benfit of two pools!!! Hooray!!!

Oh, you're going to love club level at AKL!:cool1:

You can send them your requests any time you want but I would be sure to do it before the 180 mark. Happy planning.:surfweb:

think we are not as active just because most all of the information you need is in the initial thread so ther is no need to post to ask questions for a lot of it. Also, we have another thread for chatter that is kept going. This thread is for questions and new info only. Or at least we are trying to keep it that way.

So on Nov 7th I am checking in to AKL with my boyfriend. We have a standard room reserved with 2 queen sized beds. Are there rooms with just a king bed instead? If there are, is there anyway to switch, or would this cost more money? Just think it'd be extra nice to have a king to sprawl out in on our first WDW trip together. :)

I chuckled to myself when I read your post. DH and I are checking into the AKL later tonite and we're getting the queen beds. As a matter of fact, I always request 2 beds instead of one. God knows I adore my DH  but when it comes to vacation, I want my own bed. Plus he tells me that I always hog the blankets. It kind of makes for a good vacation all the way around. :yay:

hahaha good point. We've never been on a big vacation together before, so I figured a king would make it extra nice. We could always just use the other bed to hold luggage or other just we unload after a long day of park hopping.

My Dbf tells me I steal the covers, too, but maybe he should just hold on to them tighter if he doesn't want them taken away! :lovestruc

Yes, there are rooms with king size beds. You just have to request one.

:rotfl2: I could have written this :rotfl2:

Is there a particular savannah that is better to request? Are the animals the same on all the savannahs? Is it possible to request to see both giraffes and zebras in the same savannah? Which is the best location to request or is it too much thinking and should just let them assign you what they assign you?

We always request a room on the Arusha Savanna--plenty of giraffes and zebras.

if you want to see zebras and giraffes, request the arusha savannah, its the only on with zebras

We booked a 1-bedroom for the holidays, however my understanding is that there were/are issues with the view and noise due to construction.

Does anyone have an update on this--trip report w/room# + photos???

Thanks

Which AKL 1-Bedroom Suites face the Uzima Savanna?

Which ALK 1-Bedroom suites have 2 queens + the sofa bed?

What does the view from 2285 & 3285 look like now?

I believe the Uzima one bedroom is first floor and has a view of a hot tub, rather than the savannah. I was told by concierge that there are 4 one br suites: 3 on the Sunset savannah (on top of eachother, i'll bet (2nd, 3rd and 4th floors)), and one on Uzima. Haven't been there myself, so I can't help you with the view. Anyone?
