It's so funny to hear people say that. About a year ago, the majority of people I heard were saying how tacky they thought Pop Century would be. Just goes to show you, never judge a book by its cover. :)

Regarding being quiet for others, we make every attempt to be quiet in and around rooms no matter the time of day. This is something my children know from staying at hotels from a very young age. It is just common courtesy no matter the age of the groups to think about others. Yes, if the walls are thin, it is more of a challenge, but we all want to enjoy our vacation.

I agree with the posters about being quiet. I would certainly not let my 2 year old yell in a hotel (if possible... ) at any time of day - there is always a baby sleeping somehwhere. Let alone at 3am...I personally would be really annoyed about that, and would have words with someone in the room next door if they were being loud at that time. If you want to be loud, go to a club. That seems like common courtesy to me.

Woah! I didn't say we planned on being disrespectful. But I certainly will not whisper in a room I paid to be in - of course I will not yell either. I do plan on going to the clubs and partying there in the "party atmosphere" where it belongs and walking through the resort back to my room I will definately whisper if I had to say a word at all. My question to Tyler was simple - I read posts about everyone moaning and groaning about walls being thin - and I do not plan on whispering while having a conversation with the guests in my room no matter what time it is - so I asked a question of what happens if someone hears me talking in my room and gets annoyed? I am allowed to speak in my room right?

Thank you for saying that Tyler...........I was thinking the same thing!! They may be going to "party all week", but I will be there with my two dd's 9 & 7 and they should be respectful of that. It is a place for FAMILY VACATIONS!

Just for the record - I will be there with nothing but my family.

:jumping1:

"We are going there to party all week - and we do tend to get a little louder than normal when partying."

Sinboy, above is what was in your post. Of course no one expects you to whisper in your own room, but that's not the impression I got from the above post. I know from past experience that when I have had a couple of drinks, I think that I am "whispering" and have had my friends tell me otherwise.:) I hope that you have a great time, that's what it is all about, and I am sure that you want everyone else to do the same.
By the way, when will you be there? :)

Wanted to know if Tyler or anyone else had any advice on where we should request a room. I have 2 toddlers and will be renting a car and the MIL requires handicapped parking. We have a reservation request for adjoining rooms.

Any suggestions?

Please do excuse me if I sounded snotty. I too am going for the purpose of having a great time - thus is why I asked the question to begin with. I asked the question only because I hear so much of people being unhappy with the noise at PoP. I know because we will be in full party mode - will may be noisier than usual and I am concerned that the other guests around me don't consider me to be annoying while Im in my room. I will tip toe through the tulips throughout the resort when I come back in the wee hours - but there is a group of us - Im sure we will all do our best in my group to acknowledge the time and be as considerate to others around us - but I know once we get into our room - there will be discussion of how much fun we had, what we'll be doing the next day, etc. Im not trying to be a jerk about it - but really when you think about it - I too did pay for a room and it certainly wouldn't be my fault if people hear me while Im in it - its not like Im bringing a drum set with me. As for the remark about it being a place for "Family Vacations" I think that was a rude comment - I don't know what ever gave anyone an impression that I wouldn't be with my family - I certainly will be with every bit of my family and don't appreciate such rudeness - though it's expected. I will be at PoP from June 2nd-June 7th. At this point - I would just say deal with the noise that comes from my room - if there is a problem call the front desk and complain.

:rockband:

Sinboy,

I can appreciate what everyone is saying about being too noisy but i'm sure you'll know what's acceptable and what isn't. Have a wonderful time and don't forget to post your impressions of everything and any pics you get.
Have a ball

WHEW!! Thank goodnes while you're coming in, we're heading out! We leave the resort on June 2nd. You can party all week, all nite long, we are all adults here (I think), we all know what is right and what is not good. Have a good trip!

When we stayed there (and staying there again), I didn't hear nothing coming from the walls. All I heard was coming from the door, hearing the kids having a blast at the pool. But that didn't bother us at all. We were too tired to even bother listening to the noise. But the noise wasn't that loud. If it was really really loud, then I think I would have probably switched room facing the lake.

POP...I'm coming!! Tyler hope to meet you! I'm leaving tomorrow for Universal first, then after, we'll be at the PoP!

Bottom line -- as long as you're respectful of the time, and people around you, that's all that matters. We're all here to have a great time, regardless of who we're with, whether it be Family, or Family. ;)

"Full Party Mode" is great for Manniquinns. Once you're back at the resort, if y'all are talking at normal volumes, that's fine, great, talk all you want. Shouting, screaming, I think that's what people would have a problem with.

LOL Tyler -

I may be Gay - But Im no screaming queen! I am coming just to have a good time. All I did was ask a question that referred to everyone else's posts about the thin walls - It was just me being kind and thoughtful. I know better now to ask such questions. I'll just come and do whatever I do - then go home when Im done.

Do King rooms connect with Doubles? Also, are there King rooms on upper floors? I was hoping for this arrangement for our November stay...
Thanks!

All king rooms connect with doubles.

There are very few king beds on the 4th floor.

Tyler, should I fax in my room request or wait until I get there??

Thanks!!

Tyler.

This is a really informative post. Thank you for your efforts. I will be arriving at POP about midnight on June 7th. I have heard the resorts are really starting to get annoyed by all the faxes the room assigner recieves, so I am not certain I want to fax him/her this trip. Disney has been known to overbook resorts, and since I am coming in so late I wated to be sure I am boxed in before I arrive.

What is your recommendation for letting the room assigner know I am a late arrival. Fax, phone, email, or some other means.

Blessings,

Will we be able to purchase 1 day park tickets at the resort or will we have to wait on line at the MK gate? Also,if we decide while at the MK that we can stand the June heat and want to go to a park again the next day is it to late to get the 2 day discount?
Thanks

Tyler-

I was curious if and where you would be working next week. We're arriving May 30th and staying till June 5th at POP. (Myself, a girlfriend of mine and my boyfriend.)

I was accepted to the WDWCP and was interested in saying hello (to thank you for this awesome website) and asking you for any tips you can share about working in the magical world of Disney. (I'm currently a Disney Store CM leaving Delaware to move down.)

Thanks!!

Carrie

(I was accepted for the Fall program - arriving 8/30-1/5)

Tyler, are Smoking and Non Smoking rooms in seperate buildings at POP or mixed together?

My family and I would like non smoking but my parents are travelling with us and want smoking!

Will we be able to have adjoining rooms or even rooms close by?

Is there a list available showing rooms which are smoking & non smoking so we can try to plan in advance (obviously allocation is subject to availability)?

CBCit, I don't know if the policy has changed in the last 2 years, and we always buy multi-day Park Hoppers now, but in 2002 when we made a quick trip to WDW, we bought single day tickets and then at the end of the day, decided we wanted to come back the next day. We were told it was too late to get the discount, but after some discussion, the CM gave it to us! We were going back either way, and I think the fact that we didn't get upset may have helped. Like I said, not sure if that's correct or not - just our experience. I'd ask when you buy the 1st single day. I would advise buying a multi-day hopper tho - you can get them at a discounted price; you can visit more than one park each day; and the unused days never expire - so you've bought those days at a price you'll likely never see again!! (just a thought!) ;)
