Enjoy your new computer! We have missed you! We are starting to get things together and put it all in suitcases!

The time right now is dragging but I am so afraid that once we get there the time will fly. I am trying to decide if we should just go really slow and smell every flower along the way or if we should run around like chickens with our heads off trying to see everything!

Oh the joys of Disney! :bounce:

Anyone know this-

I have some mobility problems and find grab bars very handy (no pun intended) in most hotel tub/showers. I know I have read that WDW has some roll in showers for those that need them. Do they also have rooms with grab bars/hand rails in the bathrooms? Is there any way to make a request that makes it clear that I CAN mange without them? I know some people need them more than I do and we are going in early June, which I assume will be a busy time at PC. I don't want to feel like some one else who needs it more will do with out because I asked for this. Make sense? This is why I never take the last handicap parking space anywhere....

Haley, you are awesome with your consideration of others!!!I wish more people were that way, and I'm not just talking about people with mobility issues. I'm talking about weaving in and out of traffic to get ahead, cutting in lines, etc. :goodvibes

I'd go ahead and put the request in as normal, but when you check in, talk to the front desk manager and let him/her know you are willing to give it up if they are out and someone else needs it.

I knew some people would take my post the wrong way. We are still young and I don't see any problem with wondering whether or not we should have a nice vacation and wait a little while to have more children or if we should go ahead and start trying. My post wasn't supposed to be a "Disney or Kid" as much as it was a "What are age differences like for kids?" and "Will I regret not having a child sooner?" We weren't definitely set on trying this year, but when I started to book this vacation, it made me think that if I wanted to conceive, that it may not be as good of an idea to go and spend that money that could be used for something else. I didn't want to take this trip, have a blast and then realize that we were ready to have another baby, but couldn't afford it without draining or savings and going into some debt.

Texas is HORRIBLE for maternity coverage. The only people I know here that are covered are those with jobs like UPS, Government or National Companies. It's rare to find someone that's not paying an arm and a leg for it.

Like I said, I'm going to look into what type of coverage I can get and then make my decisions from there. My biggest thing is debt. I HATE it. I'm one of those that pays off ALL credit cards EVERY month. I have never paid a penny of interest on them..lol...so something like childbirth without maternity is a HUGE deal to me.

we'll see....Thanks for all your advice :)

lmao...PLEASE disregard...I had two windows open at the same time and guess I posted in the wrong one...lol SORRY!

I was wondering what you were referring to... :teeth:

BTW you know you can edit your post? When I ake a mistake when posting I usuallyjsut replace all the text with an "Oops! sorry"

Unless you wanted our advice ;)

If you want our advice I would say go on and have more kids! :hyper: Sooner or later you will figure out you can never afford them and if you wait until you can you will findyourself very lonely in your golden years!

Besides borrowing others grandchildren to take to Disney is never easy! :teeth:

LOL!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have a motto--laugh every day, even if it is at yourself! Most of my laughing is at myself and I even tell my friends and family the stupid things I do and say. I figure they can get a laugh, too, even if it is at my expense.

BTW, I have 4 children and I used to worry about affording them. I gave up. Now I have a daugher who will be starting college soon so now I am worrying about it again. lol Thankfully we can afford to help our kids with college, but they will also be taking out loans when the time comes.

**I HAD POSTED THIS TO ANOTHER BOARD AND IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT I POST HERE**
Aye, what a horror!

Reader's Digest version:
We got up there around 10am on Friday and checked in. Everything went smoothly there, except the cast member forgot to give me the card to call to find out our room numbers later. We spent the whole day in the Magic Kingdom and then went to Chef Mickey's for dinner. The 4 kids with us (niece 4, niece 2, ds 4 and ds 1) are all used to naps and didn't get one that day so they were exhausted by the time we got back to the hotel. The check in and guest services lines were both packed so dh decided to use the phones to call the front desk for our room numbers. They put him on hold for 15 minutes to give him the #'s and then another 15 minutes to tell him which rooms the cribs were in. We had 3 rooms and 2 cribs. There were 11 of us total, and at that point, we were all tired and crabby and stressed out. So finally, dh tells us to go to the parking lot of the 70's building and wait for him to bring the car around so we could get our luggage. We waited in the lot for 20 minutes in the cold (40 degrees that night) and he never showed. I finally found him wandering around the building with the bowling pins on it. He said that the cast member he talked to on the phone said it was the bowling pin building. UGH!! FINALLY, we get into the rooms and NO CRIBS!! It took them almost a half an hour to finally bring them. Also, when I made the reservation and when I checked in, I was told that they were leaving a birthday surprise in the room for my son who was celebrating his 4th birthday on the 27th. I made the mistake of telling him this and when we got the room....NOTHING! He was so dissappointed....I called the front desk and they brought up the balloons and a card, but at this point he was just too tired to care

So, we did not have a good check in experience and I'd like to express my concerns, but I'm not sure who to call/email. The last time I emailed Walt Disney with a complaint, it took almost a month for me to hear anything back from them. Anybody know who I should talk to?

I know this question may be difficult to answer since POP has not been open in the summer but I would appreciate your best guess (Tyler and Josh!)

What's the best day to check-in at POP? Do you think it will change during the summer (when we are visiting)

I am asking because I would like the best chance of getting my room requests (no smoking, quiet away from pool)

thanks

Hi

Can somebody explain to a first time visitor what is the easiest way to get to Boardwalk from POP ?

Our flight get in at 12:10am on April 2. Our reservation starts that day. Would it be possible to find out if a room is ready prior to getting to PC?

I've booked a cheap room offsite (Magic Castle) for that night, just in case we can't' get into PC.

I was thinking I'd call the resort before leaving NY or wait until we're in Atlanta to call.

Do you think we stand a chance?

Will you be going to directly there from Pop Century? We spent a lot of time at the Boardwalk while we were at WDW in January. We also stayed at Pop. I don't think we ever started at Pop Century, though. If you take a bus to MGM, there is a boat ride that you can take that will take you around to the different resorts that are in that area. I think that it stops at the Boardwalk. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Howevever, we were simply amazed at how close the Boardwalk is to Pop Century. We had relied on the bus transporation everytime we went. If you are going to the Boardwalk later at night after the parks have closed, your only option for getting to the Boardwalk with Disney transportation is by bus. It took FOREVER! On our last night there, we ended up at the Boardwalk, and we decided to hire a taxi for our ride back. I think it cost around $5, and it only took a few minutes. That would be my suggestion is to get a taxi. It takes a lot of time otherwise.
