Well, everyone, we're back and I'll try to give you a quick overview of my trip--any questions??? Just ask!!
On Sunday February 1, 2004 I called the Pop Century to ask about my requests for rooms and if they had been filled. They kindly connected me with the room controller and they promptly verified that my requests had been filled. I had booked a preferred 60's building with two rooms--one King with a connecting double for my kids....
OK, we arrived at the Pop Century on Tuesday, February 3 around 3 PM--the lobby was quite empty and I was checked-in within 15 minutes. We were located in 60's building B right behind the PopJet area--rooms 5252 & 5253 (second floor)--both non-smoking. The rooms were great--my King room had a standard tub/shower, not a roll-in handicap shower. We made sure to leave a room tip for our maid daily before we left and each afternoon when we returned our rooms were already made up and housekeeping made sure to put our kids stuffed animals into funny positions on their beds daily--our first day they made cute towel ducks with stickers and put them in our windows as little welcomers coming back from the parks--they were great!!! It was interesting to walk by different rooms and see what other "creatures" were waiting to welcome their occupants. The food court food was very good and the frozen Coke machine was awesome!!!! Everyone was so friendly I have great praise for the staff. I did catch a few "customers" in the lobby on a few days complaining about one thing or another but they just seemed to be the type that complained about everything....
The weather was perfect for us!
My only complaint would be that I usually don't sleep well the first few nights when at a hotel--but the first three nights there I was kept up until after 11:30 PM by people's "young" children SCREAMING as they run through the PopJets. I mean they were just screaming as they ran through the cold water. Total disrespect for the occupants. Luckily I got some sleeping pills and took one nightly the remainder of our trip--my husband woke up one night and stated that they were still out their screeching!!! Common courtesy--I would never let my children do such a thing at that time of the night--again, manners... The day we were leaving I was picking up and took a minute to read some of the in-room information that I hadn't looked over yet and noticed that it did state that "quite time" began at 10PM & to be courteous and abide by those rules--had I read that earlier I would most definately complained to the Front Desk....
Except for that my trip was perfect and I definitely recommend Pop Century and will return again!!
Any questions??? Just ask!!
