If you are making room requests, is it better to make reservations online or on phone? Also I you a good deal comes along after you've made reservations online how do you change? Can you call to change an online reservation?:confused3

Yes you can make any adjustments to reservatios made online by calling. You can also make your room requests at that time too!

Happy Planning!! :wizard:

Thanx Tinkerbille :) Tokelau also sounds like a good location too :)

Anyone have any thoughts on Tuvalu?

Hello,

I have convinced a relative to take a detour on our trip through Florida ~ a stop at Disney World. I'm trying to sell her on the idea of having a family reunion at Disney.

What I want to do is visit the Polynesian resort - possibly have a meal - but also take the boat or monorail over to Magic Kingdom. Trying to give her an idea of the park in general as well as the ease of transportation.

Will we need a park ticket or be registered guests at the hotel to do this?

Thanks in advance!

No, you won't need to show anything to take the boat or the monorail.

Our last stay, we stayed in Tuvalu, 2nd floor (no balcony) with a MK view. We loved the location. It wasn't too far from the GCH or the monorail. I don't know what the GV is like though.

Hi guys...since I am somewhat homebound doing a little recovering I decided to do a PTR and incorporate my two previous Poly trips.

I am having so much fun reliving those trips! It is such a wonderful resort! I can't wait for this upcoming trip! I have good weeks and back weeks these days and I sure hope a get a good week for our trip...but really no worries. I will be at the Poly. It will be great regardless! :goodvibes

Check it out for some great Poly pics. I can't wait until I get to the trip we took last December!

I think some of our poly lovers should be back by now...how was your trips??

I am just joining in on this thread because I am beginning to plan my family and I's next trip. Previous this this trip we have only ever stayed at POFQ and on this one we get to upgrade to th Poly!!!! I am so excited. We are going to celebrate my college graduation and i can't wait. It will also be my first time going since being 21 and I am looking forward to trying some of these cool drinks (like a Lapu Lapu) that I have heard about in trip reports. I love this thread for finding more info abou the poly.

Only a few more days, then we are off to the Poly. :goodvibes My only regret is that we only have the three day weekend and it will pass all too quickly. Still, this will be a real treat, especially trying out CL, and I intend to take lots of pictures of the buildings, grounds, and the lounge.

We usually walk around the Poly after our ritual trip there for Tonga Toast, but I don't recall ever seeing the quiet pool, so I am sure there is a lot we have never seen. I am particularly looking forward to seeing the grounds at night with the torches lit, as we have never been there at night.

Who else will be there over Labor Day weekend?

I wish!

Have a wonderful time. Relax and Enjoy!:goodvibes

Hey all! We are booked for our first trip to the Poly in Dec. I have a breakfast question for all you Poly experts. :goodvibes If we make breakfast ressies at Kona for the earliest time, 7:30, will there be a problem making RD for the monorail parks like MK and Epcot? Most days we will probably eat CS at Capt. Cook's or in the room, but I'd like to eat at Kona at least once. However, I don't want my experience to be worrying about the time the entire meal either. :confused3

We are back from our first stay at the Poly last week!

I have been follwing this thread in anticipation, so wanted to check back in with my review.

We had a wonderful week, and loved the resort. We were in Rarotonga, third floor, facing the quiet pool, and it was an absolutely perfect location. We could see the fireworks over the roof of Hawaii from our deck. Of course we couldn't see all of Wishes from there, but the top half of the fireworks, which was pretty cool- the kids loved it. On other nights we walked out to the beach to watch Wishes and the EWP which we hadn't ever seen. And on Fridy night, DH and I saw the space shuttle take off from our balcony- awesome!

The CM's were very nice and helpful.

Mousekeeping was fine. But, one day we came back to the room to find that, although the beds were made, we didn't have any towels. I don't mean they left the used towels and didn't replace them with clean ones, which might have been OK, but I mean they took the used towels and left nothing. Not a single towel was in the bathroom. And our soaps had been used down to a sliver and hadn't been replaced all week. DH did notice that they remembered to take their tip. So I called, and they brought new towels and soap immediately, so problem solved. I think what probably happened was that the mousekeeper was interrupted in the middle of servicing our room? Anyway, it certainly was not a big deal.

I see alot of comments about the A/C turning off while you are sleeping/ out of the room. I don't know if the a/c turned off due to sensors but I know our room was plenty cool. And I am not a person who can live without a/c. I like a cool room in the summer.

The resort is so beautiful, and though it is deluxe, it was not stuffy or formal at all. We felt very comfortable there.

And the monorail transportation was the best. Soooo easy to get to MK, and also to Epcot, just by walking to the TTC. We always drove to AK, but we did take the bus to and from DHS, and it wasn't bad. The Poly had its own bus to DHS, which arrived quickly. Returning, we shared the bus with The Contemporary, which let off first, and the GF,, which was after us. That took a while, but we weren't in a hurry. I did feel bad for a family who got on at the CR, on their way to dinner at the Boardwalk. They were told that they should take the bus to DHS then the boat to Boardwalk. They didn't realize the bus had two more resort stops before they would even be heading out to DHS. So they might have been late.

Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I can try to answer any questions about anything.

Thanks for the review. We, too, were at the Poly for the first time. I loved the relaxed atmosphere that the trip had. Whether that feeling was the stay at the Poly, or the fact that DH is not a park person, and I was going with that vibe, I don't know. :goodvibes

We were in Tahiti-3rd floor TPV. I was disappointed to have a huge palm tree blocking the view of the castle unless I was at either end of my balcony, or standing in the middle of the room. Not a deal breaker, but a bit of a disappointment.

The room was immaculate, and continued to be so throughout the stay. Extra soaps/shampoos each day-including the day that I forgot the tip. I changed the AC and it seemed to remain at 74/75 throughout the day and night, which was exactly where I had set it.

The walk to TTC was 3 minutes tops at DH's VERY s-l-o-w pace. GCH was closer to 5-7 minutes I think.

We did the luau and had a great time. I booked cat 1, and, although I didn't have a palm tree blocking my view, there was a pole! :scared1: Again, an adjustment of ME was what was needed for some great pics.

We ate dinner and breakfast at Kona, and it was fabulous!

It was our silver anniversary trip, and, bottom line, it turned out golden.

Next time: no extra money for TPV. Maybe CL. Probably ASMu. :p

We are here sitting on our balcony in Hawaii bldg room 3509!!! I watched the cast members practicing hallowishes at the castle along with fireworks early yesterday morning! We walked through the suites last night. The princess II is either 1bd or 2bd. with two or three bathrooms, one of which is absolutley huge! Each room in suite has it's own thermostat. Either way it is very well thought out, every room has balcony facing the lagoon and the castle. Looks directly center with the marina. They are decorated very nicely. The ambassador suite is even larger and has a kitchenette and dining room. This one has a drawback that it's views are of the front of the hotel. The building is located just next to the GCH, great for a location. There is an endless supply of chips and sodas in the private sitting area an there is a breakfast and dinner service. I was told by cast members that the breakfast was great! In my opinion this building is even more exclusive than Hawaii due to the small amount of rooms in such a large building. Regrettably the king kamehameha suite was taken so I could not see that one.

Thanks for the review, and for reporting on the suites. Have a great time! Have a cup of rum punch for me ;)

Sounds like you had a fantastic time, thanx for sharing :) Reading your review makes me want to go now. A year is too long for us!!!

What were the buses like for DTD and AK?

Thanx for sharing, sounds like you had a blast too :) I love how TTC is so close and the Monorail right on your doorstep, can't do no better than that :)

With a 7:30 reservation, you will have no trouble making rope drop at the MK. You should make it for Epcot, too, but be sure to walk to the TTC not take the monorail all the way around if you are in a hurry.

Reading all the great reports is so much fun. Glad you had such great trips, scjo68 and Debbie. Have fun, carlnix30.

Thanks for the reports scjo68 and Debbie! But now you've got me worried Debbie - we've also requested 3rd floor Tahiti (MK view) - I do not want my view spoiled by a big a** palm tree! :scared1: (I thought if the view was obstructed it was considered lagoon view :confused3)

And thanks for the live report carlnix30! Will you also be providing a full review of the bar offerings?! I can't wait to try my first lapu lapu & pina colava next month (but will sadly be shut out from the rum punch since we aren't staying CL :sad2:)

Thanks for the PTR! It was great to read about your previous trips (except the stomach flu part!) Just makes me all the more excited about our upcoming trip!

We have TPV booked for Sep and I had better not have a palm tree blocking the view! Did you complain to the front desk and they did nothing about moving your room? What room number were you in?:scared1:
