We are a UK family of 4 booked through at UK TA into a regular room and I was wondering how we could enquire the cost of upgrading to concierge level. Would it be best to wait until we arrive and ask or is there some way of finding out. I don't want to ask the TA as they don't have the option of upgrading according to their web site and if you ring them they are in another country which a lot of customers have had problems dealing with.

My understanding is that if you use a TA, then only the TA can make any changes to your reservation. If you don't want to go through the TA, then you could try to do it at check-in. The problems with that are that they will want you to pay the full price of the room:scared1: and that, quite often, the concierge level is completely booked. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I'm surprised that the TA says they don't have the option of changing room categories.:sad2:

I know this is a long shot...We stayed at the Poly last Sept. and had a great bartender at the pool. He made us a "real Hawaiian mai tai", not the Disney version. My DH asked if he knew how to make one, and he knew exactly what we wanted. Does anyone happen do know this guy's name? We are going again in Sept. and are hoping he is still there!

I am just logging in to wish everyone a happy day! Not much to say. Just a cheerful greeting!:goodvibes

Happy day to you, Carrie, and all Polynesian fans!:grouphug:

Have any recent visitors seen any sign of the rumored cabanas?

We like Tim and I know from a post by Tess that he has been there for years :teeth:

If the bartender you are asking about had a neck problem, his name is Tim. He's been at the Barefoot Bar for quite a few years.

Just a quick note to say aloha, cousins! I'm leaving for the Poly bright and early tomorrow, and will try to check in live if possible, but if not, I'll be around next weekend with my thoughts and to answer questions, if any! :yay:

Have a great time at the Poly!!! Those of us outside the "world" will be patiently waiting to hear about it!:)

Wanted to send Alohas to all of you going soon! Have a wonderful trip! :wizard:

(also I want to see my ticker ;))

Ahhh, first trip EVER is on the horizon! Anyone have a recommendation if I should use the online check in? Will I have a better chance of getting my requested floor & longhouse if I wait to check in, in person?

Can't believe it's almost here!:cool1:

Oohhh! Congratualtions! :goodvibes

I think you have a 50/50 chance of getting your request met no matter how you check in. I used online check in and was able to just ask for a new room location. It worked out just fine, since without online check in I would have been waiting in the regular line for at least 20-30 minutes. :)

Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

Congrats, Mouseturtle - enjoy your trip. I'm jealous you're leaving so soon :), although I'm not a big fan of hot and humid, so it's best we're not going back for a while.
This morning as I dropped her off at pre-school, my 4 year old saw the bus from the red cross set up for blood donations. She said "mommy, that's the bus that will take us to the Hoop-de-doo." I said, "no - that's a different bus. I don't think you want to get on that bus." I'd say she's anxious to get back to WDW.

Does anyone know what the slide rules are? Specifically if two people can slide at one time or the height requirements? We are going next week and I don't want to hype up the water slide to my four year old if she can't go on it.

I don't know that there is a height requirement but I know you can't slide down two at a time. You can have one parent behind her and one at the bottom of the slide waiting for her to come down.
