I would love to know what the night selections in CL were during your trip. I have heard that some changes may have been made from the menu that is on the first page of this thread. Any help would be much appreciated

We were just there 8/8 to 8/15. The menu is basically the same as you've read, they just don't necessarily keep the days of the week the same any more. They said it's so they can have some freedom to change it up a bit from time to time. From what I remember we had the pulled pork sandwiches, sushi, noodle bowls, kona wings, lettuce wraps, and chicken skewers. There were other things but I can't remember at the moment. I should have written it down. They had cheese, crackers, veggies every night as well. We all thought the food was always very good and plentiful. A few times we went late and figured they would be all out but they kept putting fresh food out all the way through service.

Hiya everyone! :yay:

Wow, look at my ticker...time is flying by :thumbsup2

I'm right there with ya! I'm actually starting to get pangs of panic about my "to do" list - costumes to make (for MNSSHP), trip journals for the girls, touring plans ...

Congrats to all who've just booked - the time really will fly by!

Have tried to post a direct link but having problems. I've posted a load of photos from our recent trip on the UK trip planning forum under Simpsons returned if anyone is interested.

I am so jealous! We were at the Poly last Sept 12-22 (2008) and I really wanted to go back again this year, but DH is in school and can't take off! I miss it!!!!

Well, it does change each day...we had turkey, chickens kabobs, sticky wings, some type of seafood, crackers-with 3 different types of cheese, carrots, celery & cucumbers with a ranch dip, & some of the same salad they serve during the luau-also a pasta salad. If you like the food you can probably make a meal of it-I didn't care for all of it- but I found stuff I liked & I thought it was great! Being this was our 1st CL stay we had nothing to compare it to so I'm not really sure what has changed-sometimes it's good not to read what they USED to do/have!!! I was very happy with what they did!!! Have a good trip!

Any advice about making special room requests? How specific are your requests. Did you get what you wanted?

We made a special request for Tahiti building through reservations. We made a request for Tahiti because I don't think we would like the 2nd floor rooms in other buildings that do not have a balcony.

We are thinking about making the request more specific for the ground floor in Tahiti...... but worry that they might meet half our request and gives us ground floor in Tuvalu or Aeotera -- I heard ground floor rooms in those buildings do not have a good view. We would rather be in Tahiti 2nd or 3rd floor in that's true. I don't hear much about Tuvalu or Aeotera buildings or the theme park view there.

Sounds like I'm being picky.... we just want a good view of the lagoon and castle. We booked theme park view for the last week of October. And we have never been there before, so I'm sure any room will be wonderful.

Thanks for reading and thanks for your advice!

congrats, aprincesswannabe! Looks like you'll beat us there by about a month.:)
Lizzy Lemon - great pictures! Thanks so much for sharing them!
DisneyFamily123 - we stayed on the third floor of Aotearoa a few years ago. We had a great view of the MK and could see the fireworks from our balcony. The lagoon was close by, but there was a huge expanse of grass between the longhouse and the lagoon - our kids loved it. I was somewhat jealous of the people who had the first floor rooms with the patio because it would have been great to let the kids run around and know that they could come through the patio doors to use the bathroom. I'm torn between wanting a ground floor room and a third floor room (I agree that no balcony would be a bummer).

We'll be at Poly at the same time too - also MK view! :thumbsup2 (actually by the looks of our tickers we will be checking in the same day)
We have also requested Tahiti. The advice I was given was to put your most important request first, ie. if Tahiti is most important to you, and you would prefer a ground floor, but it isn't absolutely necessary, request "Tahiti, ground floor". I was told the room assigners would try to accommodate the first item on your request first and anything after if they can.

I just wanted say I am so glad that I have y'all on this poly chat. All my neighbors and family thinks I am nuts for being so excited about booking our CL stay for Dec 2010. So thank you!

Welcome! I know exactly what you mean -- other people I know would look at taking the kids to WDW as a chore, not as something to look forward to!:confused3 With your booking CL at the Poly, I can see you have plenty to look forward to. We stayed there in April and it was wonderul! :cloud9:

Our last trip in April of 2007 we stayed at the Poly, had a MK view in Tuvalu 2dn floor. We didn't miss having a patio or balcony. The view of the castle, fireworks at night, and the EP came right by our room. It was great! Since we are staying cl this time I was only able to book a GV.

taylor3297, I saw your ticker after I added one for our trip next year and wonder if we'll run into one another :). Weirdly, the last time we stayed at the Poly was in April of 2007 (we were there right around the end of the month - lord, but it was hot that last day).

We stayed CL last time and you'll get a wonderful view of the castle, fireworks, and EWP right from the lounge!:goodvibes

We are in the same boat.. people think we are crazy also. But on a side note; maybe we will see you then... we are going in DEC 2010 also. :woohoo:

I was just wondering is it brand new for guests going to the Spirit of Aloha to line up on the 1st floor of the GCH? Earlier this month on one of the nights my family and I went to visit the Polynesian the line up of guests for the show was huge. In fact while we were sitting on those benches by the bathrooms next to Captin Cook's one of the people in the line made some funny comment about all the people going to the show.

Thanks Wiscmomof2, I can't wait for the Kona wings. How late did you go? I was wondering how late they put the food out.

Thanks swald91, I have never done CL either but can't wait.

I'm looking forward to my first CL stay at the Poly this coming April as well. It should be a fantastic week for us, as we are doing our first Disney cruise prior to it. It's hard to not just jump up and yell woohooo when I think about it. Gotta get through the long winter first though, but it will be a light like a sun at the end of that tunnel lol.
