anyone know when the EWP comes by the Poly this time of year? I know when I watched it in December online that it was at the same exact time as the fireworks...oh, and maybe that's why people can't hear the music piped in because the EWP is so loud??? :confused3

It is usually around 9pm. When we were there is Dec. it was a little off some nights. I do not know if they change the schedule around busy times like now.

I was there about 2 weeks ago and the EWP was about 8:45ish... but sometimes right at 9pm, which was the same time as Wishes. I never heard the Wishes music while at the Poly and even sometimes the EWP was silent too. I watched from both my lagoon view patio and the beach by the pool.

I'll be really honest and say that I felt the BEST spot for watching Wishes was on the deck of Narcoossee's. The music is piped in and the view with the water and fireworks is amazing! :lovestruc

Here is the schedule for the EWP posted on allears:

Although the pageant generally follows the schedule below, check with the Guest Services Desk at your Magic Kingdom Resort for times during your stay. Inclement weather can cause cancellation of the pageant.

Polynesian Resort -- 9 p.m.
Grand Floridian -- 9:15 p.m.
Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35 p.m.
Fort Wilderness -- 9:45 p.m.
Contemporary Resort -- 10:05 p.m.
Magic Kingdom -- 10:20 p.m. (only during extended MK park
hours)

Note that when the Magic Kingdom Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m., the Electrical Water Pageant runs about 7-20 minutes later.

When we stayed at the WL last month, the fireworks were usually at 9 p.m., but the EWP was always around 9:30 - so I'm not sure why they aren't delaying for the fireworks, lol.

Good Morning Poly Friends!

This morning the Easter Bunny left a basket for DD(8) with Disney Dollars and a note saying we are going back to Disney in the fall! She was happy, but I think I would have gotten a better reaction if we told her we were going today like we did with our first trip.

We told her we were staying CL this time and that got her excited until I mentioned that No we would not have a view of the Castle as we are staying GVCL. I felt like I was going backwards on her...oh well. Regardless, she is a happy girl and can't wait to tell her cousins today! I just can't justify the extra $1000 for a view when we spend so much time on the beach at night and can watch fireworks from the lounge. But the thing that broke my heart is when she said "I hope I don't get sick this time". The poor thing was so sick our first trip on the first two full days and the last three days of our last trip in Dec. I have to say, she was a trooper both trips and kept a positive attitude and still has the greatest memories! I do pray this trip will be the best yet for her! :wizard:

I hope everyone has a wonderful Day today! :flower3:

How exciting! :dance3:

You are going to love Hawaii!

Hoping for a healthy trip for your DD.:wizard:

I'm in California visiting my sister and I started to show her pictures of the Poly and where I wanted to stay. I think she believes I'm a bit wacky for planning things so far ahead. But she was impressed by the looks of the resort. I'm really hoping to stay club level in the Hawaii building with ground floor rooms that are adjoining (or at least next to one another, since we can go back and forth through the patio doors if we're ground level).
Seeing BreezysMom's post, I'm wondering now if I'll be able to keep things secret from the kids until the day we fly out. My older daughter knows that we're going back some time next year. I'd like to think that I could spring it on her. But she has a memory like a steel trap (like her dad). So I imagine as soon as the Christmas decorations start to come out in the mall, she'll say "hey - aren't we going back to Disney?"
I hope your daughter doesn't get sick - poor thing is right. I'm glad she still has good memories, though!

We surprised her the first trip and had been planning it for over a year. It was painful! I would slip but since we had never been, she did not catch on. I knew I could not do it again for our last trip in Dec or this upcoming trip.

Happy planning!

I like the 2nd floor myself. You get the higher view, without the balcony (I'm afraid of heights LOL).

Hi! What area do you work in? I'm at the Poly now and was trying to track you down to say "hi". :goodvibes

Fiji - if you're on the marina side, can you hear the drums from the Luau at night? DD will be in bed before it's over and I'd hate to have a room where you hear drums while trying to fall asleep...

Hi Guys!! I'm here - well have been here for two days now. It is really beautiful!

Figi is closed - they said that the building is having the stairs repaired, however I have seen no work being done at all on that building. Tuvalu also looks like a ghost town. :sad1: I'm in Tokelau on the second floor looking over the quiet pool. From our balcony you can see some of the parts of Wishes, which was quite a surprise the first night!

You can also hear the Wishes soundtrack, but I'm not sure where it was coming from, since we couldn't hear it at all from the beach. It is really cool to watch it from the beach, but I did miss the soundtrack. You can see Tink fly from the beach - she's that green lighted dot shortly after the fireworks start.

If anyone has any questions about stuff going on here now, just fire away. :goodvibes

I noticed from your ticker that we are planning our trip for about the same time. Some friends thinnk I am wacky for planning so early, but I am enjoying every minute of it. My dd is excited about going again even though it is so far off.

Hi everyone. We checked in at the Poly today and spent the afternoon at the pool. Our room is great -- 3rd floor Hawaii with a gorgeous view of the castle.

Sunrise Safari this morning was awesome. I miss AKL but we are enjoying the Poly.

Haven't had any problems with crowds, but haven't been to the MK yet.

We're in Tokelau, and still haven't bumped into anyone from the Poly thread. Your room view sounds awesome! :)

There are a few "girls" at BoutTiki who DIS, but so far haven't met up with anyone else. :sad1: Keep on the lookout for the white baseball hat with the LGMH on it!. Tonight we're having dinner at O'hana and then going to MK for EMH. ;) It was horribly crowded at MK earlier today.

The EWP came by at 9:00 and Wishes was at 10:00. Spectro was at 9 and 11 the last few nights, but I guess they'll go back to the regular schedule for Spectro now that Easter is almost over.

You are going to love Poly - it really is a wonderful place to stay, and the monorail and the ferry boat are great for going to MK. :goodvibes

Do you like working at the Poly? We just arrived today and we're really enjoying it here.

I was at lunch when you checked in :p

I love the Poly, it's such a great laid-back atmosphere!

Hi! We are doing a split CL stay in September between AKL and Poly (more days at Poly). So far how do you compare the two resorts...especially the concierge service? Enjoy the rest of your trip and thanks!!

Hi everyone

I'm at AKL now and it's amazing. We love it here.

Check in to Poly tomorrow.

Can't write much since I'm typing on my iPhone.

I'll post a review when I can.

Hi mmmears!! :wave2: I was so happy to see this :cool1: I just knew you'd love AKL ;)

okay, so you can't hear the music from the fireworks? I could have sworn I read that they pipe it in to the beach.....I

We heard it from the pool area in late March :confused3

YAY! You got the 3d floor  That's what we had in July and it was just amazing! Can't wait to hear all about it. Hope the weather is as beautiful there as it is here in SC today :flower3: ENJOY!! :cloud9:
