I do apologize for the lack of posting, but I just caught up for the past week, and we're getting ready for Disney, we really need this trip to help us retrieve some of our sanity!
1) Have you received Mickey Mail? If so, what? Yes, we received our Magical Express tags a couple days ago!
2) Do you pack specific clothes just for Disney (shirts, shoes, etc)? If so, let us know what. Shorts, tanks, sneakers, and definitely a hair straightener for DD's hair, even though thats not clothes.
3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Why? Yes, it's just easier once you arrive, we even do it for CL though we probably don't need to, we just like the 'oh my, we'll be in Disney in 10 days!' feel
4) Are you making a specific room request? Besides our view we paid for, no.
5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney? Ponchos, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat/visor, and Pepto Bismol and Advil
6) Give a restaurant review of one of the places on the June list that people will be visiting. (see page 1- pick any restaurant and review) Coral Reef: Though we're not seafood eaters, the atmosphere was lovely and the view of the aquarium was great. The food was not spectacular, but we did not eat what they specialize in, so we were not upset, it settled fine with us. For kids though, I fear it may not be the best if they are yearning to see the aquarium, because some of the booths didn't appear to have a good view. Having a fish guide at your table is a nice addition. Overall, we liked this restaurant, but it's not something we're going to do every trip.
7) Give a hotel review for a place on property. Tell someone your favorite thing to do at that hotel. (see page 1- pick an hotel and tell your favorite thing to do) Animal Kingdom Lodge: The Animal Kingdom Lodge is basically our paradise. After a stressful time at work and school, this resort hits the spot. Though it doesn't appear very convenient, the buses were very efficient and we never felt out of the way. The atmosphere is incredible, as are the cast members. Our favorite thing to do at this resort is simply watch the animals, whether it be on our balcony or at one of the public viewing areas. The fact we can "visit" and African savannah in Florida is fabulous, and we now call this resort home after a long year of work and school.
8) Would you be interested in a DisMeet for June? That would be nice! Except our party is unpredictable with our schedules, so we probably wouldn't make it.
9) Are you going to sport your LGMH or June logo? If so, should we stop and say hello? If we could only figure out how to make it presentable on our bags! We probably won't, but we'll see!
10) What things should we remember to do for while we are away? (Ex: have cats fed, stop mail, stop newspaper?)Have someone water the inside plants, empty your fridge of perishables, and turn off and unplug all electronics to save energy.

I'm not sure what part you mean. But I got the tattoos at Michael's and the glowsticks (wand and sword) there as well.

They had bins in the back of our store with tons of glow sticks and Disney toys and things. It was the perfect little goody bag for the kids. Hope you find what you are looking for tomorrow.

Nope - this will be our first DVC stay on points. I don't think we really get anything in the mail, but does anyone know for sure?

I have a few sleeveless shirts I mostly only ever wear in Disney because I don't want a farmer's tan! Also ponchos.
3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Why?
Probably not because it didn't seem to speed things along last time.

We have a standard view one bedroom at BLT. I'm asking for a room that can see the monorail if possible since my son is train obsessed. But no biggie if we don't get it.

We haven't done a bunch of table service, but we love 50's Prime Time. The pot roast is excellent and the servers are fun. Plus the prices seem a bit more reasonable than some other table services.

We love POR! It is so relaxing just to stroll the resort in the evenings. They sometimes off carriage rides which would be awesome.

I would maybe, but my husband isn't much of a Disser, and would be a little creeped out!

Not planning on bringing a LGMH or logo, but I'll be on the lookout for all you people!

I always unplug as much as I reasonably can (lightning hit our house once and fried a bunch of electronics). Find someone to water plants. Make copies of credit cards, tickets, IDs etc. so we have them if something gets lost.

Yep we have it all finally, ME luggage tags, information packet for our 1 night Premium package and also 1 for our 6 night DXDP package

Yes, I have several character tshirts , and I have new Disney PJs, and DS has Disney shirts that he will only wear at WDW since they wouldn't be cool at all here in KY

Not this time, because I have a section/building request. Last year at the Poly I did online check-in thinking it would make our resort change easy. I was able to get our tickets/keys to the kingdom at 7AM, our room wasn't ready until 6:30 that night. Not good for hot, tired, cranky people who just want (need) a nap

Staying at CSR and we'll be requesting the Casitas section, building 4 or 5

Prescription meds, tickets if they are not part of your package, 2 pair of shoes so you have a back up pair, sunscreen, camera, and all of your chargers

Biergarten-What a great place to eat! It's lunch/dinner and a show. There is something for everyone and you can try many different things. I think it's one of the more expansive buffets and the desserts are delish. Don't fret about sitting with another party, we have met many wonderful families over the years. I can't say enough good things about it and can't wait to go back.

Poly-watching Wishes from the beach is one of the best things in all of WDW to do.

If you have a pet sitter, it's important to put together a check list and emergency contact info for them. We are lucky to have my DBIL willing to come and stay the entire time we are gone to care for our fur and feathered babies. I put together a feeding schedule, check list for meds, and vet numbers. If I'm not worried about them I have a much better time.

1) Have you received Mickey Mail? If so, what? I have!! we got our me tags and luggage tags, vouchers, the whole thing. But we are waiting on another set of everything since we added a little monster to the package.
2) Do you pack specific clothes just for Disney (shirts, shoes, etc)? If so, let us know what. When I was younger, my mom would always let us get a new wardrobe for vacations and I do the same for my dd, so her whole new wardrobe!
3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Why? I do only because I love feeling like a rock star and having every thing already done and just handed to me makes me feel special
4) Are you making a specific room request? Nope, but keeping my fingers crossed we don't end up in the country section of ASMu

I think my mom always dragged me there cuz she's a chef and as much as she'll deny she loves mickey, I think she secretly loves seeing the characters in their whites lol

Tusker House breakfast. Really neat atmosphere, delicious food, lots of food choices, great character parade, perfect before park opening ADR.

POR- It has very nice theming. The rooms are spacious, the pool is fantastic, the boat to downtown disney is really relaxing. You can rent surrey bikes or water mice, and the walking/riding path is fantastic. It's very peaceful. The food court is the best food court on property.
8) Would you be interested in a DisMeet for June? no, only because we're going with my inlaws and they already think I'm weird enough. If we ran in to someone I'd say hi.

Tusker House breakfast. Really neat atmosphere, delicious food, lots of food choices, great character parade, perfect before park opening ADR.

POR- It has very nice theming. The rooms are spacious, the pool is fantastic, the boat to downtown disney is really relaxing. You can rent surrey bikes or water mice, and the walking/riding path is fantastic. It's very peaceful. The food court is the best food court on property.
8) Would you be interested in a DisMeet for June? no, only because we're going with my inlaws and they already think I'm weird enough. If we ran in to someone I'd say hi.
9) Are you going to sport your LGMH or June logo? If so, should we stop and say hello? no not going to. BUT I do have lime green crocks. Feel free to say hello if you see me.

California Grill - dined there solo last year on my first night in the world and it was the best! Great service, the sushi and pork tenderloin were outstanding! It was so nice to stand by myself on the walkway outside and soak in the atmosphere and say "I'm in Disney!!"

CSR - just beautiful! So realaxing after the craziness of the parks. Grab a drink and sit by the lake and look for the baby alligator who lives there. Don't stay there if you like everthing to be close though!

No, just lots of cool, comfortable clothing and a couple of nice outfits for Signature dining.

No, we just take what we get. Only time we ever made a request was when my MIL traveled with us and we wanted adjoining rooms.

'Ohana - This is a great restaurant for a family. It is always crowded and you need to book ADR's early. Our favorites are the chicken wings and the pot stickers. They offer entertainment for the kids and it is a great chance to get photos of your children dancing and racing with coconuts. It can be a little creepy when your server keeps referring to you as "cousin" but as long as they keep my glass full I can deal with it. The meat is okay, sometimes a little dry, but the sauces are delicious. If you want your steak less well done, just ask. Dessert is amazing. Make sure that you save room. This is a must do for our family on every trip.

Port Orleans Riverside - This is the only hotel that we stay at. We like the mansion rooms. Corner rooms seem to be a little bigger. View doesn't matter for us. We've been on the river side and on the parking lot side. Parking lot sometimes gets us a little closer to the bus stop. Sometimes you have to wait quite awhile for a bus, so plan accordingly. Beds in the mansion are kind of high up, so watch with really little ones. We like the food court - lots of choices and some healthy options. Check-in can be really long. We have three favorite things to do at this resort: hang out at the pool and enjoy some frozen beverages, rent a bike and ride around the resort, spend a night in the resort lounge listening to YeeHaa Bob.

I buy new stuff for WDW for all 3 of us so we aren't wearing the same clothes in photos as last year. DH & DS have new shoes. DS's feet are still growing. DH just needed new ones.

We love Flying Fish! It is our favorite restaurant on property and we eat dinner there multiple times each trip. They have the most outstanding menu, and we have never had a bad meal there. They are awesome at special requests, terrific service. LOVE it there.

AKL/V is our absolute favorite, which is why we own DVC there. I like to speak to the cultural representatives about their home countires and their plans for the future.

Our pet sitter handles things while we are gone, and we'll tell the police officer next door to keep an eye out for weirdness.

So glad I found this thread! Our trip is coming up soon and we haven't done much planning yet. It will be just DH and I this trip, celebrating our 15th anniversary. We go often enough that we know what we like to do, but we were just discussing the other day that we'd better at least check out park hours and think about meals! We aren't planning on eating at any of the real popular places and we're flexible on times, so I don't think I'll have too much trouble getting a couple lunch ADRs somewhere to take a break from the heat.

1) Have you received Mickey Mail? If so, what? Yes, at least I think that I did anyway. I got the PhotoPass with my name on it. I had to register it so that we are ready to go . I also received our DisneyCruise packet as well. Now that I was really excited about . I am DVC so no other special mail except the PhotoPass card. That letter did know which resort we were staying at.
2) Do you pack specific clothes just for Disney (shirts, shoes, etc)? If so, let us know what. Yes, Special Tshirts for everyone, my comfortable Born Sandals, of course.
3) Do you recommend online check-in or not? Why? Yes. mostly for those that like to have their information submitted ahead of time. For me, I could take it or leave it because it did not shave anything off of the check-in. Although, it is fun to do

The environment is awesome and those Oreo BonBons don't hurt either. They have Crab Legs on the buffet and they are yummy.

We stayed there on last year , and I have to say that was an awesome experience. Of course we had a Savannah View, but our location to the lobby was perfect. The beds were comfortable. The lobby is not as big as Jambo, but Jambo is just a short (-5 min walk). The #1 component for those of us that travel in the summer and rent a car or drive. Underground Parking!!! The pool area is fantastic as well, especially the area for the little ones. I could go on for days..

4) Are you making a specific room request? I tried. I wanted a Standard View, but all they had was the Lake View at BLT. So we took it. It really does not matter to us, normally.
5) Name 5 things that we should NOT forget to pack for Disney? Tylenol, Benadryl, Funds, Passport(we are going on the cruise after) =, Drivers License (For the car we will rent).
6) Give a restaurant review of one of the places on the June list that people will be visiting. (see page 1- pick any restaurant and review) Cape May. My family really do enjoy this establishment. The environment is awesome and those Oreo BonBons don't hurt either. They have Crab Legs on the buffet and they are yummy.
7) Give a hotel review for a place on property. Tell someone your favorite thing to do at that hotel. (see page 1- pick an hotel and tell your favorite thing to do) AKL Kidani. We stayed there on last year , and I have to say that was an awesome experience. Of course we had a Savannah View, but our location to the lobby was perfect. The beds were comfortable. The lobby is not as big as Jambo, but Jambo is just a short (-5 min walk). The #1 component for those of us that travel in the summer and rent a car or drive. Underground Parking!!! The pool area is fantastic as well, especially the area for the little ones. I could go on for days..

9) Are you going to sport your LGMH or June logo? If so, should we stop and say hello? I would love to do Luggage Tags, how do I get access to the logo?
10) What things should we remember to do for while we are away? (Ex: have cats fed, stop mail, stop newspaper?) Give a set of keys to someone you trust (family), in case you leave something at home, and you will need them to overnight something. You never know.
