Just made our hotel reservations today! Staying at the Caribe Royale from June 12-17. We are not planning days out yet since the kids (my 6 yr old and his 3 older cousins) have no idea that we're going. I am so excited, I don't know how I'm going to last until we actually tell them (when we're leaving) and get on our way.

New luggage for all from Costco! Let the packing begin! New luggage tages too!
It's less than three months. Has anyone else started to pack?

We're going on our first family trip from June 3rd to the 10th! :lovestruc

I can hardly believe that it's really happening! I haven't been since 1976 and DH hasn't been since he was in college (in the early 1990's). So, this is a HUGE deal for us. We have two DD's who will be 5 and 8 when we go.

I have a countdown clock on my laptop, but I have to be very careful when I check it because this is a surprise to my girls. :cutie:

I just can't believe we are really going!!!!

Jacqui

It really is very exciting. I grew up visiting Disney every year but have not been back in 10 years. I know I am more excited than my kids are!

Pins, lanyard, disney members hat, disney shirts, disney poncho, disney swimsuit (only where to disney), glow sticks, disney tattoos

2) Ok, be honest, how many people have started packing for Disney already?
I have all my sons n my clothes out n all things disney out n wit the clothes

3) What special traditions do you have to prepare for Disney? (making T-shirts, watching movies, countdown calendars, etc)
mickey head count down, and now themed movie dinner nights

4) Does your family tour commando style, absolutely care free, or somewhere in the middle?
i dont plan anything thats all DSis

5) What is the one thing you really want to try "new" at Disney this year? (in other words, something you have never done before)
different resturants

6) Describe your family to us so we know who to "look out for" in Disney? LOL
DSis n her DH and 3DD 14,10,3
Me n DS
DMom n her DFriend
DYoungerSis
DSis's DH's Family (total of 3, a mom and 2DD)
Large group going this time....DSis always has a backpack...DYoungerSis always has a big purse n sunglasses, DMom always looks in a Freenzy, my DS always is 10 to 20 steps ahead of us then looking back and running into something....and me Im the one with a ton of tattoos:scared1:
Thats our magical group:rotfl2:

DSis has pretty much answered all these for me as well above. :rotfl: Only difference is Q2...I have NOTHING packed! :rotfl:

Going in June, but not my preferred time! Now that my daughter is in high school, our whole life revolves around her schedule! Football games, band competitions, practices, and whatever else. Wish we could be free to go to the Halloween Party!

We feel ya pain. We usually go in Sept. but now with DD14 in HS we have to change that. DH def. isn't crazy about the heat in June. ;o) Not to mention aside from HS activities (cheer and track) we have 2 DDs (14 and 10) that do competitive cheer. Trust we will squeeze in Disney whenever we can. :goodvibes

So we've added 2 dinners to our plans although one may be canceled.

Mon. June 13th - Crystal Palace @ 7:15pm
Thurs. June 16th - Chef Mickeys @ 7:50pm

Was going to change the Animal Kingdom breakfast because DH cousin doesn't do breakfast but my crew still wants to go. I was trying HARD not to do a spreadsheet but I feel one coming. :goodvibes

Got it! They have been added! :thumbsup2

I am loving looking at the calendar! Wow, it really seems close now!

1) What things do you pack in your suitcase that are just for Disney?

Misty fans, glow sticks, blister block, purex 3-1 laundry sheets, and Disney clothes

2) Ok, be honest, how many people have started packing for Disney already?

Yes, I have been packing for about two months now, but just the new t-shirts I purchase for the trip and the kids new crocks. I haven't washed them yet, but I can't put them in the drawer with the other clothes, because they are especially for our trip!!

3) What special traditions do you have to prepare for Disney?
I always want to make something. Last time I made autograph books for the kids. This year I made my DD two cute outfits and matching ones for her AG doll. Too fun! We also pull out the old DVD's and remind ourselves how much we really love the Characters. The kids get chore charts and last year got Disney Dollars. I may just have to keep track and buy them when we arrive.

4) Does your family tour commando style, absolutely care free, or somewhere in the middle?

We tour commando until we have done the headliners in the morning then start relaxing. We always take an afternoon break and I try to build in relaxing days. But we are there at rope drop and on a mission at least for the first few hours.

5) What is the one thing you really want to try "new" at Disney this year? (in other words, something you have never done before)

BBB for daughter and son. Really, I think he just wants the sword, that is if they still get one.
We may try SWW for a half a day. I do like Star Wars, but not to fond of a million people.

6) Describe your family to us so we know who to "look out for" in Disney?

We are the family with the totally excited Mom and kids. DH is just along for the ride and the food!popcorn::

these questions are so much fun!

1) What things do you pack in your suitcase that are just for Disney?
cheapo ponchos from the dollar tree, pins, lanyards

2) Ok, be honest, how many people have started packing for Disney already?
I totally have. But only because i've gotten these amazing sales at childrens place and old navy on dd4's summer clothes ( 3 and 4 dollar t's/shorts!) so i've put most of the new clothes directly in the suitcase and kept a few out for the end of the school year

3) What special traditions do you have to prepare for Disney? (making T-shirts, watching movies, countdown calendars, etc) we watch a diffrent old school disney shows every night before bed, this week we're watching kim possible, and a movie once a week, atleast until the weather gets nicer and she's banned from the tv! then probably just the movie

4) Does your family tour commando style, absolutely care free, or somewhere in the middle?
this year we'll be somewhere in the middle. We have a list of must see rides and shows but thats about all the planning we're doing. 09 was my first trip without my mom who i affectionately call super woman, i always assumed she didnt plan so i didnt bother but there is NO WAY we used to do as much as we did without her planning. I feel like i didnt see anything that trip.

5) What is the one thing you really want to try "new" at Disney this year? (in other words, something you have never done before)
maybe because i've got kim possible on the brain but i want to do the kim possible world showcase adventure also because dd and i are huge animal nerds (dd's father is a reptile breeder and she definitely inherited this love for animals) i want to see rafiki's planet watch which was closed last time we went.

6) Describe your family to us so we know who to "look out for" in Disney? LOL
haha well im short with bright red hair and a big hello kitty and mimi tattoo on my leg and wear way way too much makeup and will most likely be wearing glasses that take up half my face (think jacky o/nicole richie haha) dd has the most gorgeous year round tan and the curliest head of hair ive ever seen and will probably be crying because she is way too sensitive for her own good. my gs will look like we kidnapped him because he is pale pale pale with light hair and my bff will be either giggling uncontrollably or cussing someone out lol we're a very umm eccentric group :rotfl:

So..my son is home sick again (second day in a row). First daddy stayed home yesterday and now it's my turn. While he rests and watches movies, I am trying to catch up on some Disney planning. So far this morning, I have worked on my tip envelopes and the autograph books for the kids. And love little things that I do leading up to Disney. My husband always kids me and says that I like planning Disney more than going, but that is not true. I love them both equally! And then...it's off to scrapbook some of last year's vacation. I am so far behind. Hopefully I can get 4-5 pages done today. My goal is always to finish the book before we go the following year. I better step it up or it's not going to get done.

Sometimes I plan so much and for so long, it just doesn't seem fair compared to how short the trips are. Can the trips last for as long as we plan them??

BTW Anjalee, since my aunt (who has renal failure) will be with us during our last 3 days, I'm trying to make things as simple as possible for her, so I changed some more stuff around. Don't worry, I'm not giving them to you until the last minute!!! LOL:rotfl:

101 days today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Catching up to get my Disney fix! Been a bit of a bummer week: DH had to fly to Louisiana for a funeral, found out DD17 needs all 4 wisdom teeth out (the dentist gave us the referral for the oral surgeon & said we should do this by the end of summer, & I had to bite my lip to keep from saying, "Well it won't be until after Disney":lmao:my priorities are in order!), and DD13 just presented me with a $100 price tag for end of the chorus activities & trip :headache: I've actually considered cancelling the trip because of the cost but I just can't bring myself to do it, I SO WANT US TO GO!! I keep having Disney flashbacks of our last trip & thinking "Oh, DS is going to LOVE that!"...or "Can't wait to see/do that again!"
