Thank you for that video, TheDISneyFamily!

We stayed in 4401 this past November. :cloud9: Your video is as close to being there as we can get for a while. :sad1:

You could put a medicinal-like label on it . . . "View as needed for symptoms of GF withdrawal" . . . :rotfl:

Here's a short video of the MK view from RPC 4401...

Sunrise at The Grand Floridian

It was a great room & I love being on the 4th floor, a short walk away from the RPC lounge. Even though we had a good view, I think I will request 4403-4406 next time for a dead center view. :goodvibes

Thanks for posting that! It makes being back home a little less painful.;)

I know... I'm in post-Disney depression BIG TIME! :sad2: We've been home for 2 weeks. It's hard getting over spending Christmas at the GF RPC... sigh... until next time... :goodvibes

we had the privelage of staying RPC twice this summer, and had castle views both times, once on the 3rd floor and once on the fourth floor, overlooking the marina and castle. nothing beats it! and hearing that trian whistle...ok now I am homesick!

Hey, GF lovers!:wave2:

Thanks, minniesota, for posting the photos of your RPC room and views! I have a spring trip that had to be postponed, and I've been debating whether to stick with the GF, or book our other favorite, AKL. Your photos and TheDISneyFamily's video have helped swing me back to GF!:goodvibes

Hi! Thanks for the video DISney family!:thumbsup2 It makes me look forward to this year. Does anyone know how many TP Rooms they have on the 3rd or 4th floor? Thanks!:thumbsup2

We've staying in RPC second floor, room 4207 and the view of the castle was the same as the 3rd and 4th floor rooms minniesota posted

Anybody know offhand how much the robes at the GF cost? I'm considering buying them for DD and I as Christmas presents and a memento of our Dec 2010 stay.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but are there dvd players in the rooms? thanks!

You have all been so helpful but I have one more last minute question.

Do they still charge for internet? I read the following article saying wifi might be free now in the lobby

http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disney...ld-begins-offering-free-wifi-internet-access/

The internet charge is $9.95 per 24-hour period. I've heard there is wi-fi in the lobby but it can be spotty. We never tried it.

There should be 9 TPV rooms on each floor (Rooms 4301 - 4309 and 4401 - 4409).

We've staying in RPC second floor, room 4207 and the view of the castle was the same as the 3rd and 4th floor rooms minniesota posted

Yes, same view but different booking category. The TPV rooms on the 2nd floor are deluxe king rooms (they used to be called honeymoon rooms) and are on what is called the Clarendon Level. I believe those rooms have a jacuzzi as well as the king bed.

I think the club level rooms have DVD players.

Right. The club level rooms have dvd players.

A huge thank you to all of you who post here. It is a tremendous resource!

Wondering if I can ask a few last minute questions. We are making our first trip to Disney next week, and staying in the GF SugarLoaf building.

1. How crowded should we expect the park to be? Do we need to plan the invasion suggested by the unofficial guide, or can you more or less walk onto anything at this time of year?

2. How long does it take to get back from the MK to the GF at night? Do the boats run in this weather? Is it quicker on a boat than monorail, and how long does it actually take?

3. Are the pools heated enough to swim in? Should I bring suits for the kids?

4. Do you have to walk through the SL lounge to get the elevators, etc, or is it in a separate room? Is it a nice place to sit and hang out, or too much of a traffic zone?

5. Do they serve beer or wine in the SL lounge in the evenings?

Thank you again to everyone who has shared pictures and thoughts on this board. I have loved reading everyone's stories!

2. The boat is quicker since it's a direct trip from the MK dock to the GF dock. Also, the boat dock is pretty close to SL. The monorail will take longer since it will have to stop at the CR, the TTC and the Poly before it gets to the GF. The actual ride is quick -- I'm thinking maybe 5 mins -- but you will probably have to wait for the boat to arrive.

4. Yes, but we still enjoyed relaxing in the lounge. There aren't that many people staying in SL after all (it's just a small part of the GF), so it wasn't like a regular hotel lobby.

5. Yes to both, and cordials during the 8-10pm dessert time.

I hope you have a wonderful time at WDW!:goodvibes

admittedly, I always though you Disney nuts were... well... NUTS.
Then I had kids and realized how amazing Disney World is for children and how family-friendly it is for parents.
So, seriously, thanks to all you Nuts for all this valuable information.
This place is an unbelievable resource and with our upcoming Disney trip, I've been reading/lurking for weeks now.

Here's my question:
We are visiting the GF in late Feb.
We are not booked for any of these Club Level/Concierge/Royal Palm/etc services.
We're just a regular family with a Garden View room.

So am I missing out on the real fun of the GF? Should I be trying to do something more and upgrade to RP/Club/Concierge/Main Building/etc?

Isn't GF the first MK stop? I thought I'd read that like, everywhere.

The GF is wonderful in any room you book. CL offers extra services, but for a pretty high price tag. You won't miss out on the magic if you stay in a regular room. We like CL because we like how easy it is to grab a snack there, and because we like having the IPO office make all our dining reservations for us. Different people have different reasons for liking/disliking it, though. They serve "complimentary" drinks, too, from lattes to wine and beer, so for some people they can make up the cost difference that way. I wouldn't worry about it, though. There is a whole thread on club level accommodations at WDW that can give you more info if you want to read it! Hope this helps!:goodvibes
