I will need to book the Candlelight Processional Package and all my dining and may ask their advice on something special for my mom. I am so obsessive with this stuff - all my May ressies are done! I will take your advice and e-mail about a month out and then follow up with a phone call. Thanks again!

I have had additional contact. I sent them a list of my adr's and asked to rearrange a few even CRT and they got all of the times I wanted for all 5 reservations. If there were problems, I think they fixed them

I have a question about the anniversary. I know the offical day of MK 40th is Oct 1, 2011. My question is when they have a celebration (like the 35th *I saw the pictures btw, I thought Pepto Bismol*) do they start in January? I have a trip planned for May 2011 for dd #2 bday trip will we get to see the specials ya think??

And did you happen to see the price of rooms with the big discount right now??!?!?!?!?
Here is to hoping they will do that in 30 days again. I missed the cut off by a month

You might want to try ditching the 40% code and try searching with the 4/3 deal. I got a MK view room that way and I don't think the $$ difference is all that big between the two deals

I called when I got the 40% pin code and changed mine from the 4/3 deal it wasn't cheaper but I wanted to shorten my stay because we just bought DVC and wanted to do a split stay. If your planning to stay for 7 days the 4/3 is a no brainer. 5 or less the pin was best for us.

for stays Jan-Feb 2 you can get up to 45% CL stays. I looked this morning they had RPC TPV for $450 a night. .... I may be a bit off but you get the jist... AP code, general public. THey all went out at the same time. Meant to fill the rooms I have read.

Good morning, fellow GF fans. Finally made it to the GF yesterday. It is absolutely beautiful. The floors in the main lobby appear to be complete and are just lovely. Yesterday work was being done in the little lobby by GF Cafe. I imagine it will be completed very soon as many people were working on it.

CRFan, the strawberry yogurt was available yesterday. I'm sure you're getting excited about your upcoming trip....almost here.

I know, but that wasn't part of my original question, the following was. I'm just wondering if I need to pester the CM's, hoping for a cancellation, to try to get a MKV room.

DH & I just changed resorts from the Poly (stayed there before and loved it) to the GF in Sept. I just love the atmosphere of the Grand, it's so bright and relaxing and the lobby just brings tears to my eyes it's so pretty.

We have the 40% off code and tried to get a MKV room, but they were sold out for that code. We ended up with a LV room and I requested the Boca Chica building.

What's the likelihood of seeing the castle from a LV room in Boca Chica? Should I keep on trying for a MKV room or stay put and hope for the best? Also, is there a walkway on the lagoon side of the building?

I've stayed in Boca Chica twice (lagoon view rooms, but they didn't have the MK view back then) and we had clear, direct, wonderful views of the EWP, fireworks and the castle both times. One room was on a corner by the lagoon and Narcoosee's, and the other was right by the lobby of BC on the first floor.

I would still keep trying for a MKV room if it's really important to you, but you can see the castle from many rooms in BC. Sometimes the rooms never open up, but you might get lucky!

does anyone know if they replaced the carpet on the main staircase? I have seen pictures of the new floors and they are beautiful, so just wondering if anything has been done with the stairs yet or if they were leaving them the same.

Now I have to stay on points over the weekend hopefully it will be worth it. Now we can experience both. SL in March and RPC in December. Then we need to take a long break

I think the carpet is the same. My family took Photopass pictures on the staircase in 2007 and the carpet was relatively new then. I've seen recent pictures of the new marble floors with the staircase in the background and it looks exactly the same as in my photos.

Yeah!!!! Didn't realize your trip was happening so soon. I'll be wandering around the GF sometime b/w dec 17 - 24th too! My MIL wants to see the gingerbread house.... Okay, I confess - I do too. How terrible of me is it that I'm actually sorta (just a tiny bit) hoping for one day of rain so that we can go spend the morning at the monorail hotels (esp GF) seeing decorations instead of at a park??? Horrible, I know!

NO, no no! No Rain! We arrive on the 17th too, I can't have rain spoiling my holiday.

I've had enough rain at home, but if it MUST rain, let it be on our arrival day. That's resort hopping day.
