Thanks! I can't get outta here fast enough, it's -50C here today and I swear I got frost nip just walking a few feet from the truck to the school door to pick up DD at lunch :scared1: That was 2.5 hours ago and my cheeks are still bright red and burning :scared1: Florida sun, here I come :cool1:

The blizzard is over and we are flying out tomorrow :cool1: We'll be in our Contemporary MK view room from Jan 25th - Feb 1st with the DxDDP. I'll give a full report when we return. Thanks to all you experts:worship: Your helpful information made planning the trip a pleasure and I know we will have a great time
Have a great time and remember to also take a lot of pictures.

Hi, I just booked CR for August 13-22, 2010:cool1:. I have a question about the coffee pots in the rooms, can I just run water through it to have hot water. I am a tea person and need my AM caffine. Will I need to bring any type of filter? Thanks for your help.

Here is a close-up of the coffee pot:

It uses pods (coffee is already in the filter) which are replenished daily. I believe that tea is also provided. The pot holds 4 cups of water which is enough for 2 ceramic mugs (provided) of coffee/tea.

Have a great vacation; we'll be there at the same time:)

Don't forget if you purchase the refillable mugs you can also get tea and hot water at the Contempo Cafe, so just something else to remember.

Well, looks like my mk view is going to have to wait.:sad1: DH let me know how much he really wanted to save money on this trip, and we have switched to POR.

You guys have taught me so much about the CR, so I won't have to learn as much when I get to stay there! :laughing:I will be watching this thread because there is always next year!!:)

It's to bad you won't be staying at the Contemporary, however maybe you can schedule an ADR at one of their restaurants so you have an excuse to visit there and at least you already learned a lot about it.

We will still be having dh and ds5's birthday dinner at Chef Mickey's! We went there for breakfast on our last trip, so I thought it would be a great place for a birthday dinner. Too bad it won't be in "our" hotel though:sad1: Oh well, I'm going to just have to make the best of this and think of how there will be more money to put on the next trip!

Well maybe when your at POR there will be a bounceback offer you can take advantage of and use it to make a Contemporary reservation, so you can have that done and when your at Chef Mickey's you know it will be confirmed.

Dixie Landings (POR) was the first on-site resort we stayed in back in 1996. For my DD's first trip when she was 3 in '01, we also stayed at DL (it will always be Dixie Landings to me). We've not stayed since '01, but we might stay this year for one night for our "late arrival night" (if we drive straight through) since CSR is already booked (they have queen beds:)).

The DL theming/landscaping is beautiful and the food court is great and they have lots of recreational activities. It's too bad they only serve dinner now at the restaurant and that they don't have queen beds like CSR, but other than that, I think it's the nicest Mod. I would suggest that if you are going at a crowded time and you'll have a car, I would personally drive instead of taking the bus.

Enjoy your vacation and the savings:teacher:

We leave again in less than 9 weeks for our favorite home away from home, the CR. I am surprising my family with an upgrade from the standard room/standard view to a MK tower view. I also was able to upgrade from the DDP to the DxDDp. Boy are they going to be surprised. Since we planned last spring to go, I was able to save money throughout the year to surprise them. I can't wait to see their faces! We are also doing some different things than we have done in the past, like HDDR.

Aren't you just full of surprises?! Your family will have a very memorable vacation.

We love Hoop-De-Doo; they really put on a great show! It's very "interactive" when you're in the front on the main floor.

Did you request an odd-numbered room so that your beds will face toward the MK?

WIth the DxDP you must have made a lot of ADRs. It must be hard keeping them all a secret.

Have a great time!

I read that Contemporary charges a fee to have something delivered to them. Thinking of having an order delivered from Garden Grocer in June. How much is the Contemporary fee?

I hope you all have a great time and I am sure your family will enjoy the surprise when they find out what it is.

There was no charge from the Contemporary for our delivery from Garden Grocer in December. :goodvibes
