We have stayed at both the Poly & CR also. My family likes the CR better because the rooms to us are the best (besides suites) out of all the resorts we have stayed at. They are the most functional and nicely decorated. They are huge and comfy. The bathrooms are more private and easier to get dressed in. Our room was spotless!

The second best reason we like the CR is everything is so easy to get to. The restaurants, the gift shops, the monorail, the bus stop. It's all so convenient which makes our vacation less stressful. When we stayed at the BWI in June also, it took forever to get to our room, forever to get to the bus stop and even to the Boardwalk itself. Walking around in the parks all day is enough for us, we don't want to walk a mile back to our room.

I wasn't planning on using the walkway back to the resort because when I read it would take 10 minutes I thought that was to long. But one night in the MK, we had to get back to the room fast-dd wasn't feeling well-and it was so quick to walk! Then we wanted to walk back everytime after that. At night it is so beautiful! It truly isn't that far from the other resorts bus stop area.

Finally, there IS Disney magic in the CR! You will feel like you are in Disney. The CM's are great. Our kids only want to stay at the CR from now on, and we have never stayed at a resort twice because the kids want to stay at every one once, but they changed their minds-with the exception of BLT, the only other one they want to stay at!

The fridge is empty when you check-in however you are free to take as many drinks as you want from the lounge, so there is no extra charge for doing that.

Thanks so much. DH is a Mt. Dew addict and will have to bring his own, so any canned drinks coming from the lounge would be for me. DD will only drink milk, water, or sweet tea. Anything in the lounge she will drink?

They offer both 2% and Skin Milk in the mornings during breakfast which is kept with the various cerials, however if she needed it later in the day then just ask for it. When it comes to water they usually have out a huge glass bottle of sparkling water kept in the lounge or sometimes they will put out mini bottles of Disaini. Finally I believe they did offer some sweet tea, although I might be thinking of what's offered at the Contempo Cafe.

there is Disney magic at CR! I have never understood all the comments about it lacking "magic". I think that they just mean "theming" but I always feel like I am at Disney. The walk is NOTHING. In fact, I'd rather walk than do the line for the monorail. The standing is what kills me in parks...not so much the walking. Maybe I am a freak of nature.

I wouldnt say that you are a freak of nature. The walking isnt that bad for me either. But standing without leaning on something for long periods of time can be terrible on my back(I kinda have a bad lower back; pretty sad seeing as I am only 21). Plus walking to the magic kingdom is faster than the monorail. Because the Monorail goes from the CR to the TTC, ten to the Poly, then to the GF, and then to the MK. You could transfer at the TTC and use the express monorail to the MK but walking is still faster. And it is great when you are leaving the park at night and the bus stops are crazy and you just get to walk right by them and you wil be back in your room by the time half of the busses would even arrive at the MK let alone their destination.

I was on the 6th floor and the monorail ran right outside my room and I didnt hear any noise at all. I would say the worst thing about a MK view is when you have to leave to check out. because when you look back to check to see if you have everything the MK is going to be right there and it is a little depressing because you are leaving. But other than that the MK view rooms are amazing. The view from the 6th floor was great(I still dont have pictures up yet; I know Im lazy.)

This thread is just invaluable, especially with only 35 days to go! Thanks for all the great advice...May I ask a few questions?

Do you check in for the Atrium Club on the ground floor or the 12th?

Is the wifi and the wired internet from the same provider? So if you pay the £9.95 for 24hrs can you use both wired and wifi in that period?

Is there a 7/14 day rate for the internet or do you have to pay again every day?

Is there laundry collection/delivery service to your room?

Can you ship packages to the CR to hold for your arrival?

Thanks a whole lot :)

Ok, CR fans! Thanks so much for your opinions on why you love the CR...I am going to make the switch!

Now, just in case a 4/3 deal or some kind of code comes my way, can you tell me a little about the club services? (just in case ;) ) Is there a link that shows the different offerings for breakfast, snacks, dinner-ish, etc? We got a free upgrade at the poly and my DD loved the choco milks and cookies, and I liked the breakfast, but night time was a hit or miss. Just curious if CR has any better offerings and what to expect if I get sprinkled with some pixie dust pin codes! :wizard:

Thanks again, and I really appreciate your pictures and advice! And WDWKook, I liked your idea of just visiting the Poly. Hopefully I can get an 'Ohana ressie and head over to watch the fireworks and EWP from the beach one night, and get my fix during a visit...then go back to my CR room to watch the castle all night!

Cheers, everyone!

Ah, the best of both worlds!

Congratulations on making the switch. You can even watch Wishes from 'Ohana;). Don't forget to give us a CR/TR:).

When checking in for the Atrium Club tell a Cast Member working outside at the bell desk, then another Cast Member will come and take you up to the 12th floor so you can check-in.

I am not sure about your questions when it comes to the internet.

I do know there is a laundry room on the 2nd floor of the Garden Wing, however I am not sure about delivery service to your room.

Yes you can ship packages ahead of time before you check-in, although I don't have any experience doing that.

I think you're making a great decision switching to the Contemporary and have a great time. Now if you ever decide to try staying Club Level on the 1st page is all the information you would want to know about their two Club Level floors, the menu for the hot food offerings from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and when it comes to breakfast I found most of the lounges in the Deluxe Resorts offer the same kind of foods.

As always, Thanks!

It's official...check out my new signature :woohoo:

My DD loves towel animals, and we have been spoiled daily at both the WL and the Poly. Do you ever get any at the CR? Just want to make sure I prepare DD ahead of time if there won't be any. ;) Are there any special activities for children?

There have been a few times where we would get 1 towel animal during our stay, however there have been other times when we have not got any. Plus the housekeepers make them on their own time, so it's 50/50 that you might or might not get them and things like tipping them extra won't help your chances. Basically your daughter should not be disappointed if you don't end up with one.

OK - so I just finished reading this ENTIRE thread!!!

Luv it!

Now - I read there is a laundry room on the 2nd floor of garden wing...

so...there is NOT a laundry room in the tower??

and if it's only in GW, is it close to the pool??

There is no laundry room in the Tower and the Garden Wing is closer to the pool depending on the type of room you would have over there.
