My favorite part of the Contemporary resort is Chef Mickeys. I know its expensive but the foods were good. Anyway, when people are in the rooms can you hear the monorail ? It might be distracting when people are sleeeping

I don't see any tie dye on the calendar, even Saturday. Just wondering if I am missing something. We will be there later this month (less than two weeks baby :dance3:) and I think my kids would like tye dye. Thanks!:goodvibes

I think they might call them Mickey Tshirts on the June schedule. HOpefully soon the mouse for less will post the July schedule and you will know which day is what. There is a charge to do the shirts.
The second PDF page was not posting so I posted the link to the calendar on the previous page. The activity is on the second page ("Community Hall Activities"), Saturday from 1-3 and is listed as "Mickey Tie Dye."

If it is very early in the morning or very late and the resort is quiet, you can hear the "ding" sound of the monorail that happens when the doors open and before they close. You'd really have to be awake to hear it or be within close proximity.

Hello,

Disney's Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower are great resorts. All the dining options in the Contemporary Resort and the pools in both resorts. I love both of them!

Happy Summer!:cool1:

Just waking up there does it for me. If not a MK view, then a short walk to see that the castle is still there is a great way to start the day. And, ending the day in TOTWL for fireworks is special is well. If I could hit the big lottery, I wonder if Disney would sell me a grand villa on the top floor of BLT for permanent residence? ;)

If not, I guess I could settle for Golden Oaks.

I never heard it in the room, even in the very early morning!

Welcome back from your trip! I'm anxious to see your photos. Thanks for sharing the information for the cabanas. Can you rent them in advance or do you do it the day that you wish to use them? We'll be there next month and this information is useful. :)

Thank you. The cabana's can be rented 180 days from the day you want to use them. The charge for a 4 hour rental is $117.51 which includes tax. Gratuity is not included. Here are a few pictures of our cabana.

Glad you all had a great trip. Looking forward to pictures.

Thanks AirGoofy

Glad you had a good time at BLT. Did you happen to notice the activities schedule at BLT? I have been trying to find out a current resort acitivities guide for kids to see if they are still offering tie dye t-shirts and movie/campfire schedule.

Thank you and I am sorry to say but I didn't notice the activities schedule. Our DS is 16 so it's been a while since I checked one of those. So sorry.

Ok here are some photos. You will see the swan blanket which scared the you know what out of me when we walked into the room. :lmao:

Thank you, CBF for posting the cabana/BLT/CR photos. Makes me homesick! Your DS will be pleased to know that he looks much older than 16. (At least my DD13 loves when people think she's older - guys must be the same way?)

Have you had time to think about where you'll stay next time?

Absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing them all. That lake view over the pool was close to the one we had. Thanks for the info on the cabana. It looked really comfortable & and it would be nice to have a secure spot for you & your stuff when you get out of the pool.

My pleasure. Yes, Michael does look much older than 16 and he acts much older as well. With guys it's different with the age thing. It doesn't faze him or his friends if someone says he looks older.;)

I missed this part yesterday. We are up in the air about a split stay between the GF/Hard Rock or Poly/Portofino Bay hotel. We try to stay at places where all three of us really love. Me/DH is GF and Portofino and DS is HR and Poly.

Coach: in your last photo--- what pool is that?

we are staying in the garden wing

Everyone is right, BLT pool. I hope you have a great time at CR.pixiedust:

When we first walked into the room, I was unsure about the view but after seeing it the next morning, it was heaven. In 2010 we were in room 8011 and this time was 8035. Dead opposite of each other. One thing that I noticed is that I have never seen so many people parasailing before on the lake. That boat never stopped the whole time we were there.

I did like the cabana and knowing that my belongings were secure was great. The pool wasn't that far from the cabana which was another nice thing as well. I love the fact that there is the half wall behind the cabana as well. The only thing with that cabana #2 was the outlet was about 4 feet away from the cabana. I brought my lap top down thinking I was going to use it but nope, not that time. It's just as well anyway as it gave me time to just enjoy the cabana and relax.

.

I was the same way as well. At first, I thought we should always do MK view but that is a lot of points. When I had that lake view, it was great. Especially early in AM when water was calm and a single boat goes across it. We saw them driving the big boats over there one day, the ones they use to take people from MK parking lot. I guess it was a training session. Did you watch the Water Electrical Parade from your room? We did one night, but we found we liked th view better from the water level, down at th back near th firepit.

I think a big fall offer for Walt Disney World resorts is coming next week! Watch here and the MouseSavers Facebook page for information as soon as it's official.

Just got back from our trip and without going into long details, Disney has gone down hill a lot since our last trip as far as service goes
All in all though we had a good time

You can't just leave us all wondering - we need some details! No pressure or anything...

What happened? Was it the resort, Disney in general, the weather? :confused3

Hmmm.... I got an e-mail a few days ago that our TA would be booking our trip on/after the 11th. Wonder if the two are related in some way. Crossing my fingers - I would love to start with a discounted package as opposed to rack rate & waiting for the deal to hopefully come along.
