No, I thought the only option was to take the ME bus and then for them to bring the luggage later in the day at their mercy. I didn't know lugging the luggage (is that why it's called luggage? Because you lug it? :) ) was an option. Good to know!

We always take cabs, lately a call ahead (Tiffany Tours), it's good for our DVC stays since it includes a Publix stop, which is good with the full kitchen. But for our cash stays, ME could be an option then if we can take the luggage with us on the bus.

This is from a few pages back, but I had to comment. We had a TPV room on the 7th floor over chef Mickey's last year. We planned a not normal Disney vacation -- sleep late, nap in the early evenings, etc. Chef Mickey's was a nightmare. It wasn't the normal din of eating and talking, I agree, that's not bothersome at all. But it seemed like every half hour people they would make everyone cheer and scream, I think whenever it was someone's birthday, which seemed like 10 times a day. It really drove us nuts. Sleeping late was not an option. If you didn't hear this, then maybe they stopped doing the ritual. That would be a good thing.

Or maybe they didn't sleep late? :confused3 It would be rather tough to hear the noise from Chef Mickey's if they were up and in the parks before it opened!

Has anyone had groceries/water delivered to BLT? Does BLT charge an additional $10 to accept the delivery if they are sent UPS? I am debating if I should use Wal-Mart or Garden Grocer. Also when should I place an order for August 31st arrival.

Thanks so much for the info. on page 1 about the club level!

Just heard from our TA that we are booked club level for next Feb. for my husband's birthday. He doesn't know :goodvibes I can't wait to see his face when they whisk us off to the club floor.

Now to check the crowd calendars & start planning the rest of the trip (as if we will ever want to leave the resort ;) )

Since it goes through CR I believe anything coming UPS is charged the $10 fee since it is a conference center but Garden Grocer and local deliveries go through Bell Service so there is no fee (except the tip). We have done Garden Grocer twice at CR with no problems

Thank you, that is exactly the information I needed. I will go with garden grocer, is it too early to place an order over labor day weekend?

I love love love this thread. I adore the contemporary and will be there in about a month. Like some other people said I prefer the bay lake view it is so beautiful and when waking up, opening those curtains, seeing the calm water and listening to the boats just makes the start to a perfect day.
Just a quick question, does the contemporay do turn down service. This trip we will be having someone sleep on the daybed so it would really be nice if the bed is made upon returning from a long day at the parks.

What a great surprise for DH! Happy planning!

Turn-down is automatic when staying Club Level or at the GF. At the CR, you will need to request it if you're not staying CL.

I agree that waking up to Bay Lake is the perfect way to start the day. I love early morning when steam is rising from the pools and no one is out. IMHO, Bay Lake is the best room view at WDW;). Have a great vacation:)

Love to hear this! We're booked for our first CR stay the night of our first MNSSHP in October. The Bay Lake view looked like it would be a good fit for us (and we plan to upgrade our reservation to CL when/if a good discount appears!)

I'm wondering if anyone can report on the recent monorail schedules. I saw poohgirl's post indicating that it starts running approximately one hour before park opening. Is it still down one hour after regular park closing, or has that changed? Not a huge issue, since we plan to walk to MK part of the time anyway - just wondering what to expect.

I think it depends on you. I tend to go into my account and put things into my basket but I wait a couple weeks in case I think of something else. I try and finalize the order about 10-14 days before we arrive so I can get the delivery day and time I want (some dates fill up fast).

When we were there in June, they actually just left the daybed as a bed and when they came in to clean they just made it up as a bed so it was not folded up each day and then put back down. It worked really well for us because the kids still need an afternoon nap.

Love that view straight out to Bay Lake without any cars or parking lots - just water, an island, the marina, beach and pool area and lots and lots of birds:cloud9:

Thanks so much! :thumbsup2
You're welcome, Steph.

Thanks for posting the information about the daybed, WsPrincess.

Hello!!

I've read through most of this thread and it has totally fueled my excitement for our upcoming stay at the Contemporary!!! (Week from today!!! :woohoo: )

I'm trying to find the July recreation schedule. We're curious about the pool activities and dive in movie schedule!

We've booked a MK view tower room & I've requested a high floor, odd numbered room. My kids have autism and have a major love affair with the monorail!!
...the odd room number is for me!! (I've already called dibs on the bed closest to the window!!)

My kids are 13 and 11.. we're also bringing my daughter's 13 year old friend.

It's our very first stay at the Contemporary...
Anyone have suggestions for us???

The July recreation activities calendar hasn't been posted yet on the Mouse for Less site. What a wonderful view your kids are going to have for their first visit at the CR.

I'm sure you already know about the walkway to the MK and that you're the first picked-up and dropped off on the buses. If your kids love the monorail, the Contempo Cafe is a great place to sit, relax and watch the monorail. There is also an area outside on the 4th floor Concourse with benches near BLT that you and your kids can watch the monorail:

Sea Raycers are lots of fun. My DD13 loves driving one on her own now. Maybe the kids could do that or you can take the boat over to FW and do some activities there or at WL. Lots to see and do in and around the CR. Have a great trip!

Here is the July movie schedule from Build a Better Mouse Trip:

Disney's Contemporary Resort Outdoor Movie Schedule - July.

Movie shown under the Skyway Bridge at 9:00PM

Sundays - The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Mondays - Up
Tuesdays - National Treasure
Wednesdays - National Treasure: Book of Secrets
Thursdays - The Princess & the Frog(See our Princess Page)
Fridays - High School Musical
Saturdays - The Secret World of Arrietty

Your kids are sure to enjoy this wonderful free activity at the Contemporary Resort Hotel. This program is open to all guests of Walt Disney World, not just to those staying at the resort. Refreshment stand and restrooms available. Check with a Cast Member or the resort recreation calendar to confirm show times. These movies are projected on to a large portable screen under the sky bridge between the towers.

Thanks, so much, WDWKOOK!!

We have a breakfast ADR at Chef Mickey's and we will definitely have to have a few lunches at Contempo... is it set up so that maybe we could eat out on that 4th floor observation deck or is that at the opposite end??

I have already reserved a tandem parasailing flight for my DD13 & I!! Her other love is looking out on the world (not just WDW) from the highest point she can reach. Watching the monorail from that high will be the ultimate EVERYTHING for her :p

My DS11 isn't so wild about heights, so we'll rent a couple of water mice after our flight... DD'sBFF13 driving w DD13 and me with DS11.. Would he be old enough to drive with me in the boat??

We will also be taking the boat over to WL for dinner at WCC on our first night, before evening EMH at MK!! :):)

Are there things to do at FW close enough to the boat docks that we can accomplish in an hour or so?? If so, we should have time to go before our 6:25 ADR

Yay!! So ready for this!!!

Oh that sounds perfect, just wondering do I have to ask upon check in for the extra bed linens or do they have them already in the room?
