Missyrose Thank you so much for the link to your trip report! I have just barely started reading. I love all the photo's, it's just what I was looking for. With October 2012 a few months away, every tid bit of Disney keeps me in suspense for the excitement I have to look forward to. Thank you! Much appreciated!!
We will be staying Contemporary, theme park view, for a week the later part of October!
Not too far from now I can start making my dining adr's.. way to many restauraunts. But I'm getting lots of good input for dining on the dis boards. I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions, being that I am plannning our families first disney vacation. I'm keeping a close eye on this thread! Thanks to all!! :thumbsup2
No problem! Let me know if you have any questions. We're going back next October too! We'll be there the 6th-12th (gotta get one last trip in before our APs expire!). We'll be staying at AKV this time, but we'll spend plenty of time dining on the monorail resort loop! Have fun planning!

Hey WDWKOOK!!! This will be our first time in a Grand Villa!!! There will be nine of us!! We are soooo excited!!! We were going to request the Lake View but I know myself too well and know that if we don't have a view of the Castle then we'd wish we had! Unlike many, we spend more time IN our room...and on the Balconies too!! Our Autistic son LOVES just sitting and watching the monorail..so that's what we do!! We'll be using LOTS of points for this trip..(guess our trip in 2013 will be paid in cash - LOL)...and feel it will be well worth the smiles!!!;)

We're heading down week of the 15th....and hope to miss the Easter crowds!! Fingers Crossed!!! :worship:

...and will DEFINITELY be taking pictures!!;)

I can't wait to see pictures. I am scheduled to stay in a Grand Villa in the end of Aug.:banana::banana:

I just want to know if I have this figured out correctly. If I book a standard view studio at BLT and I want a POOL view I should request an inner villa, south side? Is that what I put on the request? Or, should I just request a pool view? *I understand it's just a request and not guaranteed.

Can anyone help? I have to book in 2 days and I want to make sure I have the right requests. Thanks!

I would just request a pool view. Since a lot of the standard views are on the first floor, your view might be blocked by some of the trees and such, but it doesn't hurt to try. I think most people want the outer ring (to hopefully get to see MK), so asking for pool view you might get what you want.

Just popping in to do a Happy Dance! My Mom (Fly4Free2) surprised me yesterday and we are headed to WDW for Leap Day! AND we are spending 2 nights at CR!
I recall staying there when I was VERY young. We were debating what year it was. I think perhaps 1978. I'm so excited to be going back!

Thanks for all the great info here. I can't wait to pour over it all!

Hey, there! Disney fanatic here, but one who's never stayed at the Contemporary. My boss is staying at BLT this May and asked me if I knew if wine and beer were available at either the Contempo Cafe or Fantasia Market? I'm thinking the answer is yes, but I wanted to confirm that. I looked on the first page of info and couldn't find the answer there, so thought I'd ask here.

Also, how long is the walk from BLT to the Contempo Cafe and Fantasia Market? They have a lake view 1-bedroom villa. I know you can't tell me exactly but just in general.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Yes Beer and Wine is sold at both locations.

....and it was magical! We stayed in the Tower with a MK view...don't know if I will ever be able to stay anywhere else now. The monorail was right there...so no mile-long walk to the room once you arrive back at the resort at the end of along day. Watching Wishes from my balcony 4 nights in a row...ahhhhh. I wish I could put it into words for you. It is more expensive, but you get what you pay for most of the time. So....I'm going to start saving my pennies now so I can go back one day!

To answer the second part of the question, the walk would probably be about 5 minutes I would guesstimate.

We spent 4 awesome nights at CR with a TPV... and I wish we were still there.

We had a great view of the Seven Seas Lagoon and of MK. I just loved seeing the castle whenever I wanted.

And I didn't realize it, but we were able to see the Electric Water Pageant from our room on the Seven Seas Lagoon side and we were able to watch it travel around and then through the canal to Bay Lake and back. It was a great surprise.

Our room on the 9th floor was ready when we arrived just before 11 am (I did online check-in) and someone actually greeted us when we stepped off the DME bus. All of the CMs we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

Our room was on the monorail side and just 3 doors down from the elevator bank (away from Chef Mickey's). We didn't have any issues with noise from Chef Mickey's.

The room was great. I would say that it could use a little TLC but it was clean and spacious. We had no issues with mousekeeping.

We loved the monorail and the walkway to MK was such a stress-free way of traveling. It made it so much easier for our early am breakfast ressie.

We've definitely been spoiled.

Thanks to everyone here who answered my questions and helped us prepare for our trip!
