Hi there. I'm the mom of an underweight 16 month-old who is supposed to drink a mix of whole milk & Pediasure several times a day. I'm getting the Pediasure from Garden Grocer, but would prefer to get fresh cold milk as we need it vs toting milk with us all day.

Have any of you ever noticed:
1. If you can get single cartons of whole milk (not the low fat stuff yet) at either the contempo cafe or the market at the contemporary?
2. Slightly off topic, do you know if most TS & QS restaurants around the World have whole milk available?

Thank you all in advance for your consideration!

We stayed at the contemporary --it was good. we actually stayed in the buildings behind the larger building. I booked online somewhere and wanted the contemporary and the put us in the buildings. Just a tip: if you are booking there make sure it is in the large building itself -- and not in the buildings behind the contemporary. they are technically part of the same hotel, but it's not as awesome as it would be to stat in the contemporary.
If you made the reservation online then for some reason you agreed to stay in the Garden Wing. Not sure if you know this but when reserving a room at the Contemporary if all their room categories are available you can choose between the Tower or Garden Wing. So you weren't put in the Garden Wing because that's what you reserved.

If you book through a third party, like Expedia or something similar, the categories may not be as clear as they are on Disney's site. I always book direct, no matter what the destination. (We travel a lot.) I've heard of a lot of "unclear" bookings for different locations.

I'm fairly sure they do have whole milk in the market, but I'm not 100% sure. If you haven't yet, I would definitely ask in the Restaurant forum about specific locations. I know I order coffee at a good number of TS places with whole milk, and it's usually not a problem. But whether or not they say okay and bring me 2% I have no idea!

I think they have whole and 1% or at least they used to. Because when my DD was 5 she was still drinking 2% milk so I think I bought 1 of each and mixed them ;) Now she drinks 1% so I haven't really noticed but I can't imagine them not selling whole milk with all the little kids at WDW.

My apologies!

I originally booked BLT 1 bedroom villa for my family but was accosted by my wife and teens. They can't seem to stay away from the poly. (they like the familiar)

I am apologizing due to the fact that I started a "who's going to the CR in June!" I plan to maintain the thread so if you would like to post your dates for the June 2012 arrival at the CR or BLT you guys are more than welcome. You guys are my neighbors! :grouphug:

So wait...are you not staying at BLT anymore? Just food for thought...we are Poly lovers by heart...it is our "home" resort, but we LOVED BLT!! Take out the nostalgia for us and I can almost (almost...almost) say I liked it better.

Have you thought about doing a Bay Lake Tower/Polynesian split stay? This way you can stay there, so your wife and kids can also stay at the Polynesian.

This sounds like you're suggesting booking both hotels at the same time and him staying one place and the wife and kids staying at the other... :rotfl2:

:lmao:

I've seriously considered that!

From MouseSavers:

Pool slide (Contemporary Resort) closed through 2/17/12. The pool will remain open.

No I am not staying in the BLT
I know what you mean! :thumbsup2 I think they would Love the BLT. The nastalgia is probably the reason for their hesitation. With the room size it would have been a big plus. I worry too that the rumors of the poly's demise will become a reality and we will not be able to stay in the Poly as we know it.

You know I didn't even think of that. They would be able to get a dose of the Poly and I could sneak in a Dose of BLT. "a teaspoon of sugar" :thumbsup2

Just read about the crane and that the slide at the CR pool is closed during our stay (1/21 - 1/25). Sigh.

We have a TPV room and I'm just wondering how visible the crane will be from our view? I'm guessing that we won't notice it too much and on some days, it will be completely out of view behind the castle. And that it's far enough away that it will be tiny.

I'm looking for some reassurance from those who have been there when the crane has been there too.

TIA!

When I have stayed at the Contemporary with a Theme Park View and there was a crane behind Cinderella's Castle it wasn't a problem, because it was a good enough distance away.

Split stay, even for 1 night to try it out?? Awww, your family won't know what they are missing! I know what you mean about the Polynesian too, but BLT is really awesome. I loved their ammenties~ the pool is small (compared to what I thought it would be) but awesome...there are plenty of lounge chairs around the pool deck, something I feel the Poly is missing. And the hot tub...ahhh with a beautiful view of Bay Lake! The firepit at night is great too. Community Hall is awesomely stocked with all kinds of fun things too.
Oh well, I'm sure you tried! I know you'll have a great time at the Polynesian too!

I am so excited! I've booked a Bay Lake Tower room for October and I cannot wait! :yay: I have wanted to stay here for 40 years, ever since I first rode the monorail through the resort in 1972 when I was 5. I have spent all day reading the whole thread and have loved all the great pictures and helpful info!
