Booked a bounceback for next August for CR garden wing. We have stayed in the tower, will I be disappointed?

the rooms are identical, the only differences you'll notice are no balcony, although if you're ground floor you'll get a patio and as expected, no theme park view. We always enjoyed the wing rooms, especially the old North wing. If you're saving a bundle just remember that, I'm paying close to $600 a night for my tower theme park view for October!!

We just stayed at BLT. My dh looked at the south wing and he said that he thinks he could stay there.. They had very pretty views.

While the rooms are identical, you might be disappointed if you've stayed in the Tower first. While you'll be paying less, you might miss being right in the middle of it all in the Tower and not being as high up and having a balcony. But, you will be in the same building as the laundry and it's a quick walk to the Tower and there's a covered walkway.

Did you book a Standard or Garden View? If you booked Standard then you'll have a view of the parking lot with the monorail beyond. The Garden View rooms that face Bay Lake have amazing views, but it's only a request.

So you decided not to go with WL again?:rolleyes1

I thought the same thing. We booked standard. No WL again. We love this hotel, but could use the extra space, but can't afford the deluxe room at WL. It is too expensive. also I love the convenience of the monorail.
We hope to be back at WL in the future. :yay:

Well they have started the "up to 30 percent off" fall discount offers. They're starting to get pretty specific however. Only a few hundred dollars off our 8 night stay starting in early December for Tower theme park view. I saw another person posting about how when she called today the 20 percent pin she already had was better than the fall discount offer for her CR room too. Even so...just happy to be going for our 29th anniversary! :goodvibes :cheer2::cheer2:

Sorry I'm a bit late with this:blush: We stayed in the Garden Wing, Standard View last month and we loved it! We could see the top of the Castle and the EWP at night! Honestly, don't be put off by not staying in the Tower as it's so quiet and very handy for the pool:goodvibes

Yes it is closed as of Friday morning. In two of the ballrooms they set up a area to buy and eat food. I saw the breakfast set up Friday morning. It had all the normal morning food including Mickey waffles.

Have fun. We just got back late last night.

Are the monorails still running on limited hours after park closing? Meaning when MK closes or Epoct closes do some of the loops close an hour after park closer? WHen we stayed at BLT in November we ran into this problem if we were still in Epcot but MK closed earlier, we weren't able to take the monorail entirely back to BLT.

Just a few more days and we'll be there...checking into CR Sunday for a week. DH is doing the Experience Conference and my entire family will be volunteering there and at both NOJ Sept 7 +8.:thumbsup2

Plus, 2 DSs are doing the YES class Properties of Motion on Friday, Sept 7 at 7:15am

Hope to meet up with some other DISers at some of these events;)

Turn down is available by request at the CR and all Deluxe resorts and is automatic when staying CL. Only the GF provides turndown to all guests automatically.

We just stayed on cash at BLT and the sleeper was made up everyday, but left open.

Walked by the Contempo Cafe today and it is indeed closed, HOWEVER, they moved everything to the ballroom downstairs. There are repairs being done to what seems like the ceiling or something above the cafe. The cafe will reopen Monday.

Sorry I just saw this now. We are here right now. The Contempo Cafe is up and running, so no worries! We checked in on Saturday, and it was closed and set to reopen on Monday morning, but it opened early on Sunday morning instead. The first night we had the moved location in the ballroom, and that worked out fine as well.

We are having a great time here and will definitely be back!

Thanks for the post that CC is up and running again.

How are the monorails running? I forget do they run during EMH or shut down 2 hours after regular park closing. We will be at BLT tomorrow and trying to figure out if doing EMH at Epcot is possible using the monorail entire way home/BLT since we will have a double stoller and the kids might be asleep or if we will have to transfer on a bus at some point. MK is open until 9pm tomorrow night

Monorails did run during MK EMH one night (Monday? I cant remember what day was what anymore!) earlier in the week. Besides that, I can't tell you...for some reason there have been no other evening EMH scheduled all week! Tonight there are finally Epcot EMH, so I will let you know if they are running. We leave tomorrow. Boo hoo, not ready to go back to the real world yet!

Yeah! Checking into CR tomorrow! pixiedust: Can't wait to be there and see the monorail whiz through the lobby! My boys are super excited, they have stayed there once before, but were too young to remember it, so this is their first time (at least in their minds);)

Hi, everyone!!

We're checking into the CR Tower, BLV, on 9/15!!

Prior to this, we've stayed in a FW cabin, CBR, & the WL, so this will be our 1st time at the CR! (We really love the WL, & thought that it was going to be "our" resort, but younger DS sorta changed that! LOL!)

Anyway, I've asked this before, but I'm still not really clear on what kind of room requests I need to make - so, I still haven't decided if I should on-line check-in or just wait until we get there.

We're on the Bay Lake side (unless we get an awesome upgrade to the Theme Park side, of course!).

I want to be able to see the WL from our balcony, see the nightly boat parade, & be overlooking the pool - so if the older kids & DH go swimming & I stay in the room w/ younger DS, I can watch them. I also don't want to be too high up - DD is a little afraid of heights - I'd rather be lower so I feel more "in the action"... like we are when we stay courtyard at the WL.

I also want to be able to walk out of our room & see the monorail running through & Chef Mickey's - I think the kids will like that.

So what do I need to request?

Thanks so much for any help!!

The rooms at CR don't start until the 5th floor, I believe. So even if you request a lower-level room, I don't know how much you'll be able to keep tabs on your DH/kids at the pool.

As far as seeing WL, Epcot, etc. Ask for an odd-numbered room.

You can call and have the room requests added to your reservation now and then when you check in, ask if your requests have been honored (remember, they're just requests -- no guarantees). Have a great trip!
