Has anybody received their new Disney vacation video? Not the old one in the purple box, but the new video with the Happiest Celebration Information on it?

I am curious how long ago you requested it.

just ordered mine yesterday.....heard some people already received them. I ordered another one back in early Dec. and got the old one :sad2: .

I heard it takes about 3 weeks from the moment you order... I can't wait to get my Disney fix! :earboy2:

I just received mine yesterday and it's the new "Happiest Celebration" version. I ordered it before Christmas (not sure of exact date) but wasn't expecting it to arrive until after our trip (leaving next Saturday) so that was a pleasant surprise. It has a blue-labeled DVD in it titled "Watch" and a green-labeled CD-Rom titled "Plan." Also included are various paper "offers" and "guides." I plan on watching them today.

The mailman just brought my DVD/CD-rom! I ordered it the day of the Christmas Parade. Can't wait to watch it later!

I heard a few other people on these boards got their's also after a long wait...just called to hold my room and ordered mine today! Hope it comes soon! :cool1:

When one of you watch it, can you please let me know if it is the same ol' video with just a few changes or if it new?

The one thing I do not like about any of the Disney Videos is the limited information provided on resorts. :( I am, however, always very grateful to receive a free Disney Vacation Planning Video.

I also ordered one from FatCow (shipping and materials is what I paid for) that I am dying to watch.

I ordered ours during the Christmas break and I received it in the mail today. Maybe we will watch it tonight. Any reviews of it yet?

I ordered mine a couple weeks ago and it came to the office yesterday.

Ordered mine between Christmas and New Years and got it last Wednesday. It is pretty much all new stuff. It doesn't seem to be so much of an 'advertisement' per se. More like a documentary style. But, I didn't think there was very much about the different resorts on it either. You can go to special features and it has some stuff there. I haven't loaded the CD-Rom yet. But from what I understand it's pretty similar to what you can find on the DisneyWorld official site for planning. In fact I heard it links you to that site. So, I can do my planning on the WDW site without using the CD.

But, all in all, I like this planner the best. It has a different tone than the previous ones!

I just finished watching it and it is very well done. Very slick presentation. There's 3 basic parts on the DVD: 1) Play - an ~ 50 minute presentattion of the various parks and rides; 2) Special Features - I spent about 2 hours playing around in this section. The sections include Resorts, Vacation Planning, Recent Additions, Big Thrills, Fun For Little Kids, Great For Groups, Fun For Grownups, DisneyLand, Disney Cruise Line, Vero Beach, and a very fun Disney Trivia Game; 3) Scene Selection- where you can go to various sections directly. All of the information is general in content but I think that they allow more time exploring the various topics being covered. They also covered more topics (ex.: stroller rentals). I think that they did a great job - much better than last year's DVD and certainly better than VHS planning videos in the past. I haven't checked out the CD-ROM yet.

Hi!

We received ours yesterday. It's all new, but I have to say it's not to my taste. They have four "hosts," and it jumps all over the place, very disjointed. I have to say that I preferred the previous videos (we have them from several years back). They seem to be going for the adolescent market, rather than those of us who usually "foot the bill." The planning CD that comes with it is pretty neat, though.

Just got ours today. DH thinks he is funny by watching it before anyone. He didn't even tell anyone that it came today in the mail. Looks like a new DVD format.

I think it's a wonderful new video. The hosts are very personable and put a new spin on the tired, old videos they've been churning out for decades.

The base video is about 50 minutes long. They also have separate smaller videos for families, thrill ride lovers, and other sub-categories. There are also video tours of each WDW resort. These smaller videos are hosted by the same crew as the main video, which really brings things together.

The video footage is about 98% brand new. All of the age-old interviews with guests ("Hakuna Matata"; "They were butterflies!") are GONE! They even have footage of Soarin (courtesy of DCA) and Lights, Motors, Action (from DLP).

The CD, on the other hand, was a disappointment. I was hoping for perhaps interactive park maps, pop-up attraction info, and other neat features. Instead it's just a tool to push you toward the new travel packages and ticket options.

We asked for ours about 4 weeks ago and got it today. It was ok,not real thrilling, it does jump all over the place in between the 4 "hosts" and of those 4, the young guy in it is acting too "radically cool" , my teen sons laughed at him because where as you can relate to the other hosts, this kid made no connection.BUT it is a travel promo so what were we expecting. They did a great job on the parks but I really wish they would go to each resort, and have a look around.I know this would be time consuming but would really want the future visitors to stay at different resorts.Just my opinion. The trivia part was fun but we all knew the answers, and we were on the "hard" version. It does get you in the mood, which I think is most reason we all ordered it right? So it did its job!

I just watched it, I think it was better than the old ones. You could select which resorts you wanted to see.

Check out the Special Features menu item off of the DVD root. There ARE videos for each resort--they just didn't include them all as part of the base video. I've watched 2 or 3 of them, and they do a good job of highlighting the accommodations, recreation and dining in just a minute or two.

Given the fact that there are more than 20 Disney resorts, this approach probably makes sense. You'll lose your audience if you try to take people through 30+ minutes that includes all of the resorts.

Although it wouldn't have hurt to include a "Play All" button on the main menu. :confused3

DD, DS and I watched it yesterday, when it came in the mail. They loved it as much as I did. We went into the resorts under the special features, and I was able to show them VWL (where we are staying in December) and DD5 was VERY excited about that.
