Hey, DisGeeks!
I went to the Dulles Town Center Food Court this week and while eating my lunch, I totally expected one of the food clerks to start breaking out in song asking for a napkin!![]()
It really seems as if that Magical Day will be here any moment! The official 45 day mark is Aug. 6.![]()
I would take everyone of the DIS-nee Family along with me if I could. If we're still moving along on our Road Trip, maybe Cat will let me use her cat-o-timer and we can use it to "skip-across" to WDW for a "surprise" or two!![]()

HEY EVERYONE!!!
I'm sooooo sorry for abandoning everyone for so long!! DH and I have had a lot on our plate lately, and I haven't had much time for DIS-ing.
I had been trying to get a new job since the beginning of the year, since I absolutely hated where I worked. I never wanted to say anything online about it, just in case anyone I knew read it. The truth is, I worked for a bunch of unethical crooks and I am so happy to say that I am starting my new job tomorrow!!
DH and I decided to take our house off the market in June after it had been for sale for just about a year. We've never been unhappy in the house we're in, we just wanted something bigger. Instead, we've decided to make some changes to it and give it a few more features that people are looking for in new construction homes. Maybe we'll give it another try in a couple of years.
In the meantime, we've replaced our kitchen countertops with granite, a new tile backsplash, installed under cabinet lighting and cans lights in the kitchen, granite in the guest bath, painted our hallway and laundry room, added cabinets in the laundry room, painted all the trim on our house and re-stained the front and back decks. WHEW!
*Hopefully* all that's left is replacing the master bathroom cabinets and add granite, paint guest bedroom, and change out all the brass door hardware with satin nickel levers. At least I have a kitchen again!
And in the midst of all this remodeling, my car decided to give me problems. So the only thing to do was get a new one!! So instead of my 1998 Grand Prix, I've got a brand new Nissan Rouge, only for now I have a "Rogu" - my "e" fell off at the dealer!!I really hope that's not a sign of what's to come with my new car!!
I've only done a little bit of catching up on the last 25 pages since my last post, and it might take me a while to finish. In the meantime - HOW ARE YOU GUYS??????
Marshay - Did I read correctly that you are pregnant??? My prayers are with you, and I hope that everything goes well for you. You are such a wonderful mother to your little girl, and I know how much she would love to be a big sister!!
I'll work on catching up here as well as the road trip. Good to see you guys again!!![]()

KigerKat,
Well, you've certainly been busy.....now that you're an expert at installing countertops and home upgrades, how about a friendly trip to the Fleagles for some "sharing".Seriously though, I'm sorry your house didn't sell, but the changes sound VERY exciting.
Congrats on your new job too!![]()
Agreed!(And, when you're done with assisting the Fleagles, you could always hook north towards the D.C. area...
We have a few projects in mind here, such as hanging crown moulding in DD's bedroom and constructing a window seat.) It could be "KigerKat's Home Improvement Road Trip"!

Welcome back, btw!![]()

me next! I want to re-do my bathrooms![]()
Hmmm....not sure if Mr. Kiger would like all of that extra work! He did quite a bit of the work himself (I'm so proud!). Here are some pictures he took along the way:
http://picasaweb.google.com/brettkiger/2008_07_14Remodel
There isn't a picture of the finished product in there yet, but I'm sure he'll put one in there soon. It looks like he stopped the pictures after we got the dry wall finished and before we put the tile up. There is a picture of the tile laid out in the pattern that we put above the stove.
And thank you for the well-wishes on my new job. My first day was yesterday, and so far I love it! But then again, who comes home after the first day on a job saying how much they hate it? I think I will be much happier here. My other job was with a car broker, and like I said before, they just weren't too ethical. After 3 1/2 years, I finally got the guts to get the heck out of there. I was always afraid that a news crew would come busting through the door one day and everyone would see me on the news covering my face and saying, "NO COMMENT!" It's so nice not to have that stress anymore.
In the meantime, we are less than 3 months away from our Disney trip!!! Checking up with you guys will definitely get me back into planning mode!!
