Hi everybody!!! I'm back from my trip and moving along with the catch up part of being back after being away. Missed you all - I'm not usually away from internet connectedness and found it harder this time than usual.

Marshay - I'm jumping up and down for you!!!

David - I know we will all hold your family close in our hearts and say many prayers on Elizabeth's big day. Please let me know if you need anything while you are in Seattle.

madbrad - Thanks for the fun pictures! I'm right there with you in countdown excitement!!! Given the difficulties of this spring I'm extra glad I planned a trip. It helps me through the rough moments. Love the idea of a reunion. We can cook up some wicked barbecue and fried chicken.

Cat - I love your Safari character!

DISgeeks - Nice to see you!

Welcome back, Circusgirl! We missed you!

How was your trip?

Glad you like my safari outfit so far...but I think the actual safari you suggested may be postponed for just a little while. The Road trip has made it to me, and I guess it would be rude to leave you all stranded in the middle of Texas all alone!

So I'll be a Bryan/College Station tour guide FIRST, then head out for Safari later! The outfit actually works for BOTH activities!

My trip was great - thanks for asking! I was at a festival with many of my oldest dearest friends, playing in the band that made me want to play the trombone in the first place. It's a very special event and is always one of the highlights of my year.

'Glad you had a good time! (Welcome back, btw! :wave2: ) If you have any amazing stories, we'd love to hear them... :thumbsup2

MARSHAY - We haven't heard any news from you yet today. I hope the results are still positive!!

Yesterday's test results were 4,283!!! Woo Hoo!!! This is really good and still high but not extraordinary high...so now I'm thinking it's just a singleton...although I dreamt having triplets and that started to freak me out!!

I can't wait to hear all about your trip, esp the Halloween Party. We've done the Christmas one and the Pirate and Princess party but not the Halloween one yet...hoping to do that in 2009.

Marshay - I'm jumping up and down for you!!!

Thanks! I have my next appt on Monday for my 1st ultrasound and then another one in 2 weeks to confirm the results. So we should know whether it's twins or singleton on Monday and definitely by mid-August. (Sidenote: there are many cases where only one baby shows up on the first u/s if it's done too early...and then on the 2nd one --voila! another baby...hence the reason for 2 (or at least one of the reasons...)

Hey, DisGeeks! Welcome back!

Where did you vacation?

Oh, that's right -- you went to Disney, didn't you? I totally forgot.

Tell us all about it...do you have a TR?

Hi everyone!
Well things have finally slowed down a bit for a while.
Got caught up on the road trip and thought I would drop in and say Hi!

Marshay - congratulations and we in the 3guys household wish you and yours all the best! pixiedust: pixiedust: again!!
Or is that pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
Wotruba - Again, we wish all the best in your family troubles and hope all goes well and prayers are with you. pixiedust: :grouphug:
In both cases, although so different, I am sure all will be fine.

Welcome back Circusgirl!

Hello to all the other Adventurositers as well!!

Off to check the boards for a while.

Hello there everyone!

Sorry I've been bit absent......we have a lot of birthdays this time of year.
New dance floor going in this week....remember the termites?
Anyway, lots going on.

Just a little something to make you laugh. I've been struggling with being 40 and feeling old lately. You know, sad that the "good" years are gone even though I know that good years are still ahead. Anyway, yesterday I went to pop the top on a soda can (Diet Dr. Pepper... my fave) and I sprained the joint between my thumb and index finger. Seriously. Can you believe it?

Oh well.....c'est la vie

OK, I know this really isn't funny...but it seriously made me laugh out loud!

So my ouch of the day is I was cutting a bagel and something wasn't working...so instead of stopping and taking a breath, I just got angrier so cut harder -- right into my finger! Ow!! yes, you can call me stupid! :rotfl:

Marshay - I'm so glad to hear that the news keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to find out if you'll be having a princess: or a pirate: or a combination of both.

This will be our 3rd MNSHHP in a row. The one in 2006 was AWESOME!!! Last year was a different story. It rained from almost 7 until almost 11. I don't mean it just rained, it POURED!!! They ended up still having one parade and the Hallowishes fireworks. Despite being soaked from head to toe, we still loved it. They didn't start selling the Hallowishes music until we got back home, but I ordered one as soon as I could. My DS and I listen to that CD all of the time (no matter what time of the year it is). We even had it playing in front of our house on Halloween. Hey, I think I'll listen to it now. :cool1:

I uploaded some pics from last year. Follow this link and enjoy ... MNSSHP 2007

I have a video of the 2006 and 2007 parades that I'll have to post. For the 2006 parade, we were lucky enough to get a great viewing spot!! We were able to interact with just about all of the people in the parade. Last year was not as great b/c of the rain. The grave diggers are great. When they swing their shovels around on the ground, they make sparks and this real erie sound. The best part of the parade has to be the Headless Horseman that rides thru at the beginning.
**These pics weren't taken by me, but I wish they had been.**

OH, yeah, I've heard about the headless horseman...now that must be really eerie!.

You guys were brave to tough it out in the pouring rain...I may have been tempted to call it quits or just stay on the TTA all night!

Hey, we weren't going to let the rain ruin our Disney Magic! :goodvibes
Besides me, DD, and DS were already drenched from riding Splash Mountain. The funny thing is my DS loved SM but DD was a little afraid to ride it. We finally convinced her to ride SM and we ended up getting SOAKED.

Ok, you make me feel so much better about my own silliness!!! This week I was walking intently through a room at work, but looking down and concentrating on something I was working on in my hands. I came to a door that is usually open and smacked right into it because it was unusually closed. I broke the rhinestones on the bridge of my cute glasses, and got a ridiculous cut on the bridge of my nose from the impact. So incredibly dumb. Fortunately Seattle is home to a renown rhinestone expert, Rhinestone Rosie, and she's going to fix up the glasses for me.

Thanks for the pix!! I am going to MNSSHP for the first time on my upcoming trip and am super excited. I have some fabulous costumes but they're all a little bulky, so I'm thinking of shipping something ahead. Might as well go for it!

Those MNSSHP pics are awesome!!! Now you are making me want to go....HOWEVER with this economy we are trying not to add any more expenses to the trip. So no MNSSHP for us unless we somehow win tix in the YOAMD. (wonder if it's possible? :confused3 )

One of my favorite things that we do at the Country Fair is to march with the band to a special late show after dark, with people carrying flaming torches marching along with us to light the way. The show takes place after the fair closes for the day, and features the performers from the various stages and venues performing for other participants at the fair, especially the people with booths who can't get out to see lots of shows during the day. The fair site is an incredibly romatic beautiful forest with old trees dripping with moss. The forest has a central figure eight shaped path in it that is lined with little rustic booths, bordered on one side by the Long Tom River. We play along the dark paths, stopping along the way to jam, and then march into the big show.

This year the fire danger was so high (they in fact had a fire in the tree canopy one day of the fair) that we marched with English torches (flashlights).

We've never worn costumes before, but other people have done an amazing job dressing up. We usually don't have much time to put on costumes before all the fun starts. This year we're having lunch at the Garden Grill and then we're going to ride the monorail on over to MK.

I know what you mean. We're changing our tickets from Water Parks, Fun, & More + Park Hopper to just plain tickets. We've never used the Park Hopper before b/c we always stay in one park the whole day. Just by changing our tickets, we're saving a little over $400. The tickets for MNSSHP are costing us $200. That leaves us an extra $200. That will at least pay for the gas down there (MAYBE!!!)
