Hi everybody!!! I'm back from my trip and moving along with the catch up part of being back after being away. Missed you all - I'm not usually away from internet connectedness and found it harder this time than usual.
Marshay - I'm jumping up and down for you!!!
David - I know we will all hold your family close in our hearts and say many prayers on Elizabeth's big day. Please let me know if you need anything while you are in Seattle.
madbrad - Thanks for the fun pictures! I'm right there with you in countdown excitement!!! Given the difficulties of this spring I'm extra glad I planned a trip. It helps me through the rough moments. Love the idea of a reunion. We can cook up some wicked barbecue and fried chicken.
Cat - I love your Safari character!
DISgeeks - Nice to see you!
Welcome back, Circusgirl! We missed you!
How was your trip?
Glad you like my safari outfit so far...but I think the actual safari you suggested may be postponed for just a little while. The Road trip has made it to me, and I guess it would be rude to leave you all stranded in the middle of Texas all alone!
So I'll be a Bryan/College Station tour guide FIRST, then head out for Safari later! The outfit actually works for BOTH activities!
My trip was great - thanks for asking! I was at a festival with many of my oldest dearest friends, playing in the band that made me want to play the trombone in the first place. It's a very special event and is always one of the highlights of my year.
MARSHAY - We haven't heard any news from you yet today. I hope the results are still positive!!

Marshay - I'm jumping up and down for you!!!
yesterday I went to pop the top on a soda can (Diet Dr. Pepper... my fave) and I sprained the joint between my thumb and index finger. Seriously. Can you believe it?
Oh well.....c'est la vie
Marshay - I'm so glad to hear that the news keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to find out if you'll be having aor a
or a combination of both.

This will be our 3rd MNSHHP in a row. The one in 2006 was AWESOME!!! Last year was a different story. It rained from almost 7 until almost 11. I don't mean it just rained, it POURED!!! They ended up still having one parade and the Hallowishes fireworks. Despite being soaked from head to toe, we still loved it. They didn't start selling the Hallowishes music until we got back home, but I ordered one as soon as I could. My DS and I listen to that CD all of the time (no matter what time of the year it is). We even had it playing in front of our house on Halloween. Hey, I think I'll listen to it now.![]()
I uploaded some pics from last year. Follow this link and enjoy ... MNSSHP 2007
Thanks for posting the pics!! The ghost Mickey and the grave diggers were awesome!!
OH, yeah, I've heard about the headless horseman...now that must be really eerie!.
You guys were brave to tough it out in the pouring rain...I may have been tempted to call it quits or just stay on the TTA all night!![]()
Hello there everyone!
Sorry I've been bit absent......we have a lot of birthdays this time of year.
New dance floor going in this week....remember the termites?
Anyway, lots going on.
Just a little something to make you laugh. I've been struggling with being 40 and feeling old lately. You know, sad that the "good" years are gone even though I know that good years are still ahead. Anyway, yesterday I went to pop the top on a soda can (Diet Dr. Pepper... my fave) and I sprained the joint between my thumb and index finger. Seriously. Can you believe it?
Oh well.....c'est la vie
OK, I know this really isn't funny...but it seriously made me laugh out loud!
So my ouch of the day is I was cutting a bagel and something wasn't working...so instead of stopping and taking a breath, I just got angrier so cut harder -- right into my finger! Ow!! yes, you can call me stupid!![]()

Thanks for the pix!! I am going to MNSSHP for the first time on my upcoming trip and am super excited. I have some fabulous costumes but they're all a little bulky, so I'm thinking of shipping something ahead. Might as well go for it!
Those MNSSHP pics are awesome!!! Now you are making me want to go....HOWEVER with this economy we are trying not to add any more expenses to the trip. So no MNSSHP for us unless we somehow win tix in the YOAMD. (wonder if it's possible?)
One of my favorite things that we do at the Country Fair is to march with the band to a special late show after dark, with people carrying flaming torches marching along with us to light the way. The show takes place after the fair closes for the day, and features the performers from the various stages and venues performing for other participants at the fair, especially the people with booths who can't get out to see lots of shows during the day. The fair site is an incredibly romatic beautiful forest with old trees dripping with moss. The forest has a central figure eight shaped path in it that is lined with little rustic booths, bordered on one side by the Long Tom River. We play along the dark paths, stopping along the way to jam, and then march into the big show.
This year the fire danger was so high (they in fact had a fire in the tree canopy one day of the fair) that we marched with English torches (flashlights).
