The Adventurosity Club

My kitty Simon is home from the hospital - we just got back. He definitely has a thing that will be chronic with some pattern of deterioration that we will know more about as it unfolds. I'm going to look into acupuncture as well as the medications and supplements we'll start when all the tests are back in. He's happy to be back and weathered an MRI, spinal tap and some other neurologic testing really well. He's pretty wobbly, but very determined.

I'm so glad they were able to determine what is going on. That's 1/2 the battle. You are a very good "mom" to Simon.

Suz D

Amy, I see that you haven't left so I'll wish you a very fun trip! I hope that I can take Katie to NYC sometime.

I got a wonderful birthday card from tothesea! What a pick-me-up that was! LOVED it!

Cat, love the skydiving! You are so talented. Your artwork is so whimsical. That word just jumps out at me every time I see something you've done. Clever, Clever, Clever girl.

3 guys, glad you are okay through all the storms. We've gone to the basement three times this year, but we've not had any funnels.

Patrick, HELLO!

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick update and some photos.

We found a house! I'm so grateful that we won't be homeless. There are some really good things so I'm trying to stay positive through this. We're referring to our new house as "cozy" which is another way of saying, "It's WAY smaller than our current home. What are we going to get rid of?"

Here are a couple of photos. One is the view from the deck and one is from the backyard.

The house is nothing special, but we'll make it our own. Marshay, I'm going to have a 23x20 room for my scrapbooking studio/workshop. It's in the basement and has one large window so it's not too dingy. With lots of lighting in the ceiling it will be great. I'm excited to finish it. Housing was very expensive and we were determined to not overextend ourselves. It took a lot of time and research, but we got a good house in great condition and left a little bit of $$ in savings to make the decorative and finishing changes.

I also said that I'd post pictures of Katie when she was tiny. It took me awhile and these aren't great because they are pictures of pictures, but you get the idea.

This is Katie the day after she was born. This is not my hand, but it's the nurses. I was still out of it after a C-section.

DSCN4633.jpg

This is the same day. That is Jeff's wedding ring on Katie's arm. Isn't the bubble wrap funny? That's what they used to keep her warm. I think it must have been very uncomfortable.

DSCN4631.jpg

She's about a month old here. So very tiny. This is actually a picture of a picture which was one of those "instamatic" photos. Awful quality, but it really tells the story.

Things will be hectic around here for awhile. We close on our house here on the 30th and then I'm going to leave on July 5th to be with my mom in Vegas. She had her first chemo on Tuesday and it went well but she's exhausted. Dad's memory and mind are struggling right now so it's really important that they have help. Jeff is going to handle the movers on July 11 & 12th. I'll fly to WV to close on our house there on the 14th and then I'm back to Vegas until the end of August. Jeff will bring the girls out to stay there with me for the rest of July and all of August. We also have to work in Bobbie's adoption through all of this. We're hoping that we can do that before the 4th of July. Keep the pixie dust coming on that one.

I miss the regular contact with you all. I hope you're okay with update that are all about me. I apologize for being self centered. Know that I think about all of you and your lives and struggles.

Suz D

Suz,

Wow..what to say? Thanks for keeping things in perspective for me. What a great reminder to focus on the things that really matter in life....and stereo equipment certainly doesn't rank.

LOTS of pixie dust coming your way for the adoption and EVERYTHING else that is going on in your life.

tothesea - It was GREAT to hear from you!!!! What fun to hear about the new theater, and I'm very excited about visiting on our road trip.

Amy - Hope your trip to New York is supercalifragilisticexpealidociously special! Please share pictures and a report when you get home. Trips like the one you're about to do make such great times and memories.

Justin - Very cool that you met up with Wendy, and again look forward to hearing about your phenomenal experiences. OMG you got to meet John Lasseter. The pictures you shared are super fun - thanks!

Suz - Congratulations on your new home, and thanks for sharing the story and pictures of Katie's early times. I'm glad you have a happy plan for your new home, especially your special creative place.
You have so much on your plate!!! My thoughts are with you and your Mom and Dad. Thanks for your good wishes about my Simon. He has stabilized and I think his problem is harder for me emotionally than it is for him physically at this point. He has some weakness and tremors but is a love bucket as always. I may need to build him some little kitty ramps to the bed and other furniture at some point but for now he handles everything pretty well.

Marshay - I think of you every day and hope your sticky pokey times will soon be yielding a very lucky new baby. Also hope the situation with your dining room furniture works out with you receiving undamaged pieces as you should. If you bought it with a credit card, is it one that offers protection to you as the buyer? Perhaps they will help you protest the situation.

Fleagle - It's always great to see you stick your head in and say hello!!

Marshay,

'Looks like we're the only ones currently online.

Were you able to sort out the situation with the scratches and dings on your new furniture? (That would drive me absolutely nuts!! I hope the manufacturer took responsibility for the defects.)

Kincaid (the furniture company) sent a technician out to inspect the dings and scratches. But all this meant is that he took pictures. So I have to call them Monday and see what they plan to do. The technician basically told us "unofficially" that what we got was typical of the furniture. Cripes!

I'll be talking to them tomorrow to see what they plan to do.

Just wanted to say hello all! I've obviously not been around, but Mrs. Fleagle has clearly done well carrying the torch for the Fleagles.

Hey, Welcome back!!!

So glad you met up with Wendy.....what a fun treat!

Yes! How cool!

How exciting for you to have a HUGE scrapbooking space!! It will be so much fun to design it and plan it from the beginning! And with that size a space, you can invite friends over to crop with you!

I just spent way too much money at the Great American Scrapbook Convention here in Dulles, Virginia. It was so much fun though -- lots of Disney stuff!! I can't wait to get to my pages -- but I'm still on my DD's July birthday last year, so I have a bit to go yet!

EDIT: Thanks so much for posting those pictures of Katie. Wow...she was soooo tiny. Even looking at the pictures, I have trouble seeing a baby that small. What a true Godsend for her to not just survive but thrive!

The meds are going well. I'm on day 7 of the stim drugs and normal course is about 10 days. They had to increase the dose I am taking since my body wasn't acting fast enough but so far it looks good. I go for an ultrasound and blood test every 2 days to make sure we are on track -- yes, that's in addition to the 3 injections daily. Syringes are my new best friend! :faint:

I agree -- if we don't get anywhere with the customer service department, then I'll have to pursue via credit card.

Justin -- so glad you are updating the other CMO thread. I can't wait to hear all about your trip!

Suz.... what a miracle baby! Thank you for sharing those photos with us!

Some bad rumblings up here today in New England.... we have been slammed most of the day with a bad string of thunderstorms. You name it we had it.... lightning, high wind gusts, hail, torrential rain.... it was nuts! There is a city in Rhode Island called Pawtucket that got 3 inches of hail! You read that right 3 inches of hail!

So DH and I are headed up to New Hampshire this weekend to visit my parents..... um yeah...... a crack of thunder so loud just happened I almost spit water on my keyboard and my poor old boy Marco wants to be nowhere else but on "Papa's" lap until the storm passes....... sooooo back to what I was saying. We are going to visit my parents and I've still got Pluto and Mickey in my grip.... so hopefully come next week I will have pictures of the shenanigans they got into.

I think I missed my mother before she left for her trip.... have a great trip mom!

Hope your weather has become a little less biblical! Looking forward to the further adventures of the skinny crew.

Back safe and sound from New York with Alyssa! I'll post pictures soon! Didn't get a chance to take very many.....but I'll share what I took!

Ok, I have to post them on my studio website first....but here are a few

First I had to meet up with another old dance buddy.....Keith! A super nice guy!

shapeimage_1.jpg

Then my Ally in front of the Legally Blonde billboard. We didn't get to see it, but we snapped a picture. Hmmm.....looks like Ally can take over that role in a few years.

shapeimage_1.jpg

A little rubbing elbows with the stars (Mario Lopez) at the stage door after A Chorus Line.
Unfortunately his 'rubbing elbows with me' ended up that he was just trying to get past me to get to his limo. Oh well....so much for my ego. :worried:

shapeimage_1.jpg

Me and Ally on the ferris wheel inside the giant Toys 'R Us

shapeimage_1.jpg

And my new favorite musical.....Mary Poppins! Wow! You MUST go see it! The singing and dancing was fantastic and the set was unbelievable. So impressed and so happy that Broadway is BACK!

shapeimage_1.jpg

Big hugs to hubby for watching the kids while we escaped reality for a bit. He not only held down the fort, but took the kids to Busch Gardens......... TWICE! He wins some kind of an award....any suggestions?
Although I think it drove him a bit nuts!

There, that's better. Thanks honey!

Ms. Fleagle - I love the pics. Thanks for sharing. Looks like you and Ally had lots of fun. I love that she was in pink in front of the Legally Blonde billboard. I agree she might be the next Elle.

I can't believe you were that close to the hottest thing going right now (Mario Lopez). I would love to see Chorus Line. Did you see last week's People? I might have to frame some of that :):lovestruc

Actually YES I did see the People "spread". I was getting my hair done and they were all giddy and asked if I had seen it. I hadn't, so they showed me. Wow...um....I'm kind of a prude...but that was kind of nice. The funny thing is Eric and I now have an ongoing joke about him and that I was going to meet him while I was there. So naturally I HAD to make sure we waited in line after the show to snap a picture. He really did start pushing (respectfully and politely of course) against me after he signed our playbill ("Love, Mario" by the way) I was kind of saying to myself "Um, ugh, well, ok, what?" and then I realized he wasn't going to stop pushing me, then I turned around and saw his car! :sad1: I guess I was just in his way. Oops.

Wow, I haven't checked in on this thread in such a long time! Glad to see everyone is doing well I love all the pictures. Ah..dreaming of a New York trip!

Wendy and Justin- It looks like you had fun meeting on the CMO trip- I am sure you had a blast Justin with all your CMO duties, and I love the shirt Wendy!

Suz D- Your backyard and view is beautiful! Best of luck with all the new changes. Unfortunately in California we live in beautiful state, but we pay a ton of money for a little patch of grass...which our dog quickly turned to yellow polka dots!

I feel like a snooper since I have been on this thread in so long :ssst: But my husband and I are going on two little trips to Yosemite and Monterey soon, so maybe I'll have to go over to the Road Trip thread and have us do a little helicopter flight if it gets stalled again :)

Sending pixie dust everyone's way! pixiedust:

Gosh, the more I read, there is a lot of crummy stuff going on with everyone too! So now I am sending double the pixie dust everyone's way!! :tink: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Hoping things turn around for everyone soon, sounds like for some of you it has already!

Hey, guys! Catching up!

Sorry to hear about the hail! 3" wow!!

Glad NY trip was good! Mary Poppins sounds great!

Hope your Yosemite trip is a good one! I've never been there -- yet!

For those keeping up, DH gives me my trigger shot tonight (a 1.5" needle!!!:faint: ) and then on Saturday late morning I have my egg retrieval...3-5 days later they transfer specific embryo(s) back...then DH continues giving me another 1.5" needle shot for 18 days!!! Then we find out if it all worked about 2-3 weeks later.

I'm so excited and so nervous at the same time!

Please for those who do, pray for us -- particularly for me to accept God's Will in the outcome -- whether none, one or many!

Amy - Thanks for sharing the fun shots of New York and your great girls' adventure!

DSNY4evr - So fun to hear from you! Monterey and Yosemite were two of my favorite places when I was growing up (and still are - I'm just farther away). Have terrific trips!

Marshay - All best energy and thoughts for your poke-o-rama's success!! You are such a cool mom, I so want you to get to raise another lucky human.
