The Adventurosity Club

HI EVERYONE!!!! :wave2:

I have been missing our little family here so much! :offtopic: Alert!

For those who "met" me way back when in early February, during the contest that brought us together, I was also trying to put together a new weight loss support group thingie business plan.

Well, things have come full circle as I have my first TWO customers on Thursday!!!!

I have been over my head with all of the business red tape and hoops I have been jumping through. My biggest hurdle was that I was originally told that when people come to see me that it would be covered by insurance.....misinformation from the distributor of my metabolic analyzer. After hours and hours and days and days of contacting state insurance boards and state grievance boards, we came up with a "probably not" going to be able to be covered.

Once I had that answer, I rewrote all of the information the distributor gave me (that is a full time job in itself!) to reflect the "generally not covered by insurance." I also added the fact that people basically wouldn't be coming in looking at a Barbie doll...meaning that I can relate to the weight loss process because I am in the middle of it too.

So all this to say YAY -- I am sooooo excited and really hoping to be able to help people in their journey too.

Oh, and I TOLD my husband that I am planning a trip to Disney starting Christmas day 2008. I have some more weight loss goals for myself and since Disney did well to get me going the first time (61 lbs) --- I am hoping it is enough motivation to get me to the next level.

I know it will be crowded but hopefully with planning it can be done, right? Has anyone gone Christmas week? Last December we were there but it was the 8th - 15th and we were able to ride things back to back (not all rides but a good bit of them).

Anyway, sorry to write so much! Just happy and optimistic and and and I am going to Disney!!! pixiedust:

Good news and GREAT news!! Happy to see/hear you. Little Annie's gampa.

Look who arrived today! Man, for such a petite mouse she sure does come with a lot of luggage! ;)

She'll be hanging with us through Sunday. She's requested that she stay long enough to see the dance recital this Saturday. So, not wanting to disappoint Minnie, of course I will accommodate her request. Check back the next few days....I bet she'll be having some fun! :thumbsup2

I know Minnie is going to have a fantabulous time! :dancer: party:

Congratulations, Ann on working your way through things and having your first clients!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Meggin,Ann, & Suz D - It's so good to hear from all three of you. Since nicer weather has arrived and most kids are out of school, everyone seems to be so busy. Thanks for checking in and keeping us up to date!

Hey Ann!

Glad to hear things are going so well!

I've only been to WDW thru December 25th, never after, so I can't comment on the crowds. But even if it's really crowded, it'll be cooler than summer, and all the decorations will be there! It will be so fun!

Keep us posted on your new business as time allows...

Hey, guys...just wanted to let you all know that I will have some minor surgery tomorrow afternoon (nothing serious but still under anesthesia) and then I will be starting my first of many, many, many fertility-type shots. Yes, we decided to move forward with IVF. So hopefully I'll have some really good news to share with you all in the coming weeks/month!

Marshay, how exciting! We struggled a bit with issues getting Katie. After over a year of trying we finally got pregnant. She was born at 28 weeks and weighed 1 lb. 1/4 oz. Her lightest weight was 13 oz and she came home after 87 days weighing just 3.4 lbs and was 15 inches long. Worth every minute of the scare but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone. Best of luck and please keep us posted. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Ann, lots of scrambling for you over the last few days. I'm so glad you figured a way to do this and I'm thrilled that you have a couple of customers. In response to your question about Christmas. We went from the 19th to the 29th in 2005. It was very busy after Christmas, but we just hit the parks right at opening, used fastpass, and left to swim or nap at about 1:00. In 2003 we arrived on NYE. Now THAT was a zoo and something I would NEVER repeat!

Everyone, thanks for your good wishes on our house. We signed the papers on Tuesday night and close on the 30th. I completely view the sale of our house as a miracle. There was one house in our neighborhood that sold after 9 days on the market. Then there are several that have been on for months and one that has been on the market for well over a year. The sale is truly an answer to our prayers and fasting. If we pay $500.00 they will let us stay until the 14th of July. We took that at our realtors recommendation. That was a bit of a stress reliever until I got a phone call from my Mom on Tuesday night. She has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Now I'm calling movers to see about have a full pack done and I'll spend most of July and August in Las Vegas to help her with whatever she needs.

Please keep my mom in your prayers and send pixie dust her way. I so appreciate our little "family" here. It's a great place to share. I'm trying to keep my spirits up so I'm going to post another answer to one of the Disney questions today and hope that others will have a couple of minutes to do the same. Talking about Disney really is a lift for me! It seems I only pop on here to give news updates and really want to "converse" with everyone instead of just posting about myself. Sorry!

Suz D

Wow -- what a miracle baby!! If it's not rude to ask, can you post or send a picture of her as an infant? I just can't picture 13 oz....

Many thoughts and prayers for your mother and you and your family. I'm sooo sorry to hear about this. I'm glad you can be there for your mother. Strength and peace to you!

OH, thanks for the reminder!! I totally forgot about these questions and haven't answered any...will try to get to them soon.

Marshay, I don't have any digital photos as it was over 12 years ago, but I'll try to take a photo of a photo and post that. She was 11 inches long (Barbie doll size). We only have photos of her at around 1 pound. Since all babies lose weight, she lost some right at the beginning. Then at 2 days she had a major medical crisis and we were asked to make a decision whether to disconnect the ventilator and hold her until she passed away, or to try an experimental procedure to try to save her. Obviously we chose the latter after a very quick prayer. For awhile we could not take photos because she was just too fragile healthwise and was hooked up to everything. We do have some videos of that time, and they are amazing. I finally got to hold her for the first time after 25 days. What a thrill that was! Anyway, I'll post a picture of her the day after she was born which will give you a general idea. From head to hiney she was about the length of my hand and then she had very long legs! She actually looked like a little alien but of course we thought she was the most adorable thing ever!

Wow! The docs had to even ask you what you wanted to do?!? Of course you chose anything that might keep her alive -- and I know you thank God every day for making that 'experimental' procedure work.

25 days until you got to hold her! I can't imagine the heartache you felt seeing her. Were you allowed to touch her at all in those first 25 days?

Yes, a pic of a pic would be great to see -- Barbie doll size -- that's truly incredible!

On a completely different note, the surgical unit just called and they do not have power so they can't do my surgery (unless the power goes back on and they can fit me in...)

I just was notified that my surgery is canceled for today...waiting to see about tomorrow.

So the good news is that I can eat something now!!! No more fasting for today!:rotfl2:

Hi everyone.
Posting to let you all know that I havent been abducted by aliens and am still around.
Hope everything goes well for those that are going through trying times.
Just have a few minutes and then on the run again.
I am hoping to get on one of these evenings while everyone else is on line and do some chatting.

Once again, good luck to all and our prayers are with all of you.

And in a bizarre twist of events today, 15 minutes after I get done eating my breakfast, the doc calls back and says my surgery is back on. But of course, I can't have it since I ate food. Now they are trying to reschedule again. Tomorrow is my last day for the June IVF window.

So we either make it or have another month to get things done around the house!

hey 3guys! Glad to hear you weren't abducted by aliens!!:lmao:

I'm thinking about you. ('Just put up a little prayer...)

Let us know how today goes. (Hopefully, the docs will be able to squeeze you into the sked...)

Side Note: That storm Wednesday really wreaked havoc on the DC area. Montgomery County schools were closed yesterday (due to power outages?). Plus, it really affected everyone's commute Wednesday. We had to make a trip to Colombia, MD, Wednesday evening. What should have taken 45 minutes became a two-hour trek due to bad traffic -- partly because of all of the traffic signals that weren't working.

Hey, 3guys: I, too, am relieved to hear you weren't abducted by aliens! :rotfl: (It's a pretty high risk, I hear... )

Hey DisGeeks -- My surgery is today at 12:45pm!! :cool1: This will only delay us for 3 days from starting our meds, so I could still be pregnant at the end of the month, assuming everything goes well!

Those storms were pretty fierce!! I heard about 7-8 schools in Fairfax county are still closed TODAY!

I'll (sort of) be in your neck of the woods today -- Rockville. I should have asked you about fun things to do up there...my DH will have my DD for several hours until surgery is done...so he's just hanging out in Rockville.

Marshay - I just wanted to let you know that I'm keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I hope everything goes well with your surgery and that the results are positive.

DW and DD finally got started on their scrapbooks. I'll try and post some pics when I can. It seems my part of the Road Trip is a more pressing issue though!!! :goodvibes

As I climb my cat-toonish mountain, I send best wishes to all who are climbing REAL mountains!

Good thoughts to you all!
