Anyone here ADDICTED to Character Sightings, Meet & Greets, or Meals??

This is the place for you!!! What Characters are you REALLY going to try to see/get autographs from on your next trip?

If you need help with a particular character, maybe someone on here will be able to help and give tips!!

I'll start.....

On our next trip in Sept./Oct. I really wanna get:

Ariel, Jasmin and Aladdin, Charming, and BELLE in her yellow dress!
We were going to wait at the grotto for Ariel, but I better things to do with 3 hours!!! We're going to do CRT and 1900 so that should take care of at least 1!!! LOL.

Happy HUNTING!

We are!!!! We were so sad that in December our MGM Character friends were not out for meet and greets. :guilty: We so miss watching them perform with the guests. We can't wait until we walk into MGM Studios and see all the lines for Hercules & Meg, Mulan, Pocahontas, Jasmine and Aladdin and Cruella. :cloud9:

Guess I better post here!!! :teeth: Looking for characters is all I do. Well, I do hit a ride here and there, and stop to eat, but that's about it! I have a trip in mid-May, and I am so HOPING to meet some new ones! I hope to find those CARS characters, though I am not entirely sure they really are "characters" in the traditional sense of the word! And thanks to DISer MakinOrlando, I know to look for a new pink Power Ranger! And I am hoping Epcot has some different characters out for the Garden and Flower Fest special themed weekend (Characters in Bloom, May 19-21), but I am not sure, there could be just normal characters there. And Star Wars weekend starts, so I may get a few of them, too, since I have ignored the Star Wars characters up till now! And Jedi Mickey and Darth Vader would be awesome photo opportunities! :teeth:

And I totally agree with dvcfamily41801, it breaks my heart to go to MGM, since they killed the "cool" characters rotation by the entrance or Big Hat. Just common furries now - boring!! No rare ones to look for, it seems!

WOW!! Actually sounds like I will be VERY busy on my next trip!! I just hope I come back with some new characters!! :teeth:

mum and i adore meeting the characters. We never manage to pass one by without stopping for a photo. This time i'm going for autographs too so i can display them in my holiday scrapbook with the photos.
Mum always hunts for piglet and meeko. My favourites are chip dale goofy and stitch.
This trip we are going to breakfastosaurus to meet donald, also ohana for stitch.

I have been looking for Daisy and the quest is still on. Hopefully this is the year. Last year I got Rabbit from Pooh, that was exciting. I'd also love to get the seven dwarfs together. I guess I'll have to think some more and get back to this at a later date.

THe 7 dwarfs out together used to e normal. When I was younger, I was able to get them all together on Main Street. Those were the good days. I wish that more rare characters were out now. It gets kinda boring seeing the same ones over and over again all during your trip.

We are always on the hunt for Mary Poppin's penguins. The last time I saw one at the Exposition Hall (?) next to Tony's I ran from the middle of Main Street to them, leaving my DH behind and shouting, "It's the Penguin!!!!". What a thrill - it made the whole trip for me! I had been known in previous years to leave my party dining in the Crystal Palace and tear out of the restaurant, trying to get a Penguin autograph at the Castle forecourt - my MIL thought I was nuts! :rotfl2: . Sadly, Mr. Penguin is a fairly rare sight so you must be dedicated if you really want an audience with him. Move over, Poppins - I want to hug the Penguin! :thumbsup2

As HugsforEeyore:wave: knows, I am addicted as well. Getting the photo that is in my signature was a bigger THRILL:woohoo: for me last week than eating in Cinderella's Castle (not that I didn't like it... but you know - he is hard to find at this time!)

My collection pales in comparison to HugsforEeyore's:worship: but I am pretty proud of it (I think sometimes DD just does it because she know it makes me happy).

If you click here 2006 Characters you can see the characters that we have met this year. There is a sub folder for 2003-2005 - we weren't into it so much then!

We still need Ariel - haven't seen her at a character meal - and haven't felt like visiting the Grotto.

Always on the look out for DAISY!

Would love to get a Dwarf and the Penguins and Bert from MP!

Also, Beast and Genie!

This year the MNSSHP and MVMCP are going to be ALL about finding characters! We have not done that at any of the 7 combined parties we have done since 2003!

We have done a considerable majority of character meals since January. I feel a let down since most of the ones I want to do we have already done. We just have to work harder to find them in the parks!

1/22 - Princess Storybook Breakfast
2/5 - Donald's Breakfastasaurous
2/11 - Cape May Cafe Breakfast
2/22 - Crystal Palace - dinner
3/5 - 1900 Park Fare - Breakfast
3/24 - 1900 Park Fare - Dinner
4/9 - Chef Mickey Breakfast
4/22 - CRT

Jasmine and Aladdin are pretty regularly found in Adventureland at MK, and Jasmine is in Toontown sometimes. We had several Jasmine meetings, but finally we were at MK at the right time and go them together. I like when you can get two for one!!!!

We saw Belle in Yellow dress at PSB. I liked that we got her in blue at CRT last week!

This year our family took my son's friend. Right up front I told him. I promise you will get your fill of Disney BUT,.,,, if you go with us understand that we WILL do characters. he agreed. I scrapbbok and have literally spent hours and hours on handmaking things to go into this years album so I was on a mission.
The first day at Magic Kingdom I saw the holy grail ... Snow White and ALL 7 DWARFS. I have NEVER seen that. Do you think I could get anyone to stand in line with me? nope. they wanted to go ride splash mtn. the other 6 days I never saw snow white and her band of merry men again. We had a big discussion and id manage to get alot of sigs but the days were hot and the charcters were not out so I missed alot.
my advice, seize the day, for snow white may not be there tomorrow.

:faint: OMG - that would be the HOLIEST of all Grails! DD for sure would have waited in line with me no matter what it cost me in the stores later! (I have been known to "bribe" her with gifts if she indulges my addicition!)

Whereever did you spot them?

I have to post in here....I'm a huge character fan! I am always on the lookout for the characters in the parks! I don't think I have as huge of a collection as some of you, I think I need to find a better strategy to hunt out characters! ;)

Characters that we've met....what I can remember while sitting here at my desk...

Prince John, Geppetto, Baloo, King Louie, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Rafiki, Timon, Tweedle Dee and Dum, Buzz Lightyear, Donald Duck, Princess Aurora, Belle and the Beast, Chip & Dale, Goofy, Pluto, Perla, Snow White (with and without her 7 Dwarfs), Flik, the Genie, Aladdin, Eeyore, a Green Army Man, Mr. & Mrs. Incredible, Chicken Little, Abby Mallard, Jasmine, Jessie, Piglet, Pooh, Cinderella--once just her, one with Prince Charming, Queen of Hearts, Lilo & Stitch, Tigger, Woody, Ariel.

All of that was over 3 trips.

We are going again in September, so hopefully I'll get to see some new characters. I would love to find Alice, Peter Pan and Wendy, Mulan, some of the villians, Mary Poppins. Plus, I always don't mind running into characters I've seen before :)

Oh, NEVER pass up an opportunity to see all seven dwarves!!! :teeth: As you said, they may not be out again for goodness knows how long!!

I made the mistake of passing up a character once - I saw Snow White's Prince greeting with Snow White near the Small World parking lot (this was back in January 2003) and since I wanted to do some ride, I said to myself - "Ah, I'll come back another day and get him!". Well, never saw him again until three trips later in May 2004!! Lesson learned!! Never "skip" a character that's new to you!!! :teeth:

Though for some reason, I consider Jiminy Cricket the "Holy Grail" of characters. And MakinOrlando has that awesome signature photo to make me jealous, as I would love to meet Jiminy again! (met him once years ago, and that was the only time!) :teeth:

Woo hoo! This is my kind of thread. I absolutely LOVE characters. It is my hobby trying to meet as many as possible. I got my dream job for the CP in that I an going to be a character attendant! So when I go down, I plan on attending MNSSHP and MVMCP in order to find rare characters. I can't wait!

We have trips planned for Sept & Dec, including MNSSHP & MVMCP.

We still need to find:

Rabbit
Shaker & Big Al
Bullseye
Snow Prince
Kim Possible & Ron
New Pink Ranger
Bert & Penguin
Scrooge
Atta
Little John
the 6 other Dwarfs
Darkwing Duck
Brer Fox
Phil
Jiminy Cricket
Carnataurus - is he even out anymore?

We need a few others, but there haven't been any reports of seeing them out at all - like Thumper.

Count me in as another character fan. I get just as excited about seeing the characters as riding the rides. I use to have a WDW Character website, but it's been down for a few years now. I've sometimes considered getting it back up in some form or another, but I just don't seem to have the time to devote to a website now. I still have all my pictures though and have been creating my own character scrapbook for the past year. I've got a collection of photos of 98 different characters doing meet-and-greets, and I can't wait to go back this Summer to find my 100th character. :mickeyjum

The only character I really want is Piglet.(Missed him at MGM last year by 5 minutes!). I would like to see Brer Rabbit,Little John,Bambi,Thumper and Pocahontas. I more or less have seen everyone else except perhaps the seven dwarves together.

Aladdin and Jasmine are usually in the Moroccan Pavillion(Epcot)

Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore are in the British Pavillion(Epcot)

Beauty and the Beast are in the French Pavillion(Epcot)

Daisy is in Camp Minnie and Mickey at AK(depends on staff levels-sometimes Daisy is needed in other areas).

Jafar,Eeyore,Winnie the Pooh,Lilo and Stitch,Power Rangers,Chicken Little(soon to be replaced,so I hear),are all at MGM

Cruella DeVille,White Rabbit,Penguins from Mary Poppins are in Toontown

Pinoccio and Geppato are at Exposition hall at MK. I have also seen Max,King Louie and Baloo there too!

Mulan and Mushoo are at the Chinese Pavillion.(Epcot)

I have seen Tweedle Dum and Dee at the Tea Cup ride at MK.

I have also seen Friar Tuck and King John at MK.

Right off the top of my head I can't think of the other places I have seen characters.

Most people make the mistake of thinking characters will be out in the open. Sometimes they are tucked away in corners or found under shade trees. We found out a long time ago if we just slowed down and looked around more often than not you will find a character.
