Day 9 Sat. Sept. 20
Today we go home. But before we do we have some plans. Our plan was this. The Lion King show was supposed to re-open on this day at AK. We were going to go check it out and then head to the airport. I had asked CMs earlier in the week about confirming its reopen and times. They told me I was going to have to wait until the a.m. of to get confirmation. We were told we wouldnt be able to find out until Guest Relations opened at 8:00. I made everyone get up early in the event that we were on. Long story short . it was reopening but not having a show until the afternoon. Our plane was leaving at 2:45. This was disappointing but of course there was nothing we could do. I reminded DH that that would leave us with 1 day left on our passes for the next trip.
So now he was irritated that I made him get up early for nothing. We really didnt make a back-up plan. We really didnt want to go to any parks, or shopping. Finally we just hung out at the resort getting some last minute pics. I took DS to arcade, as we hadnt found time for it before. I did a little more shopping at the Mercantile. We said good-bye to the lodge. Then we headed to the airport.
We were lucky to get a really great skycap to help us at the airport. He really went out of his way to make it easy, and fast. He even asked as a reminder that we didnt have any film in our checked bags. We ate at a restaurant there and it was pretty good. Spent a little time hanging at the airport and then we were on our way. Great flight. Jared was great. I missed the lodge but was looking forward to my own bed.
Final Thoughts:
The lodge is everything I was told it would be . we loved it and probably could never stay anywhere else. This truly is a great place for families.
I found the shopping in general not to be as good as in the past. This was good because it saved me $$. This was bad because I didnt feel complete without some cool Disney stuff. Maybe this was just me or maybe just my perception but I felt that the variety just wasnt that great and I kept seeing the same stuff over and over.
In the future I would try to avoid buying the photos that Disney took and just ask more people to take our photos together I have a pro camera . Im wondering what I was thinking paying someone else for less than perfect pics???
Character meals are great and next time I would do more than one.
Watch out for the beds at WL . they can be hazardous to your toes LOL
There is just not enough time . but then you probably already knew that.
I MUST go back LOL
I hope you have enjoyed the reports and I appreciate the feedback and comments. Thanks for reading and thanks to all those that helped make the trip better for us with their planning tips, and generosity.
