:snooty: I think I was traumatized by modern dancing in Italy when I was 16. We went to a club one night and my friend was dancing with this Italian guy and he thought it was appropriate to grab her crotch while dancing. :scared1:
You mean that's inappropriate??? j/k ;)

I love the pictures from the ball, it looks like so much fun! I am a bit strange for my generation but I far prefer that old English style of dancing compared to how we "dance" today. I'm sorry, but grinding on a dance floor does not equal dancing. JMHO.
You could come with me to work sometime (I'm a mobile DJ) I think I will keep my DD locked up until she is at least 21. :lmao:

I hope Juliana is feeling better tomorrow and the fever is down. I'll be praying for her.
Thank you and everyone for thinking of Juliana. Besides a cough that comes and goes, she is much better. We kept her home from school today just to be sure. School will be canceled tomorrow because of what the weathermen are calling a 'Bomb' about to explode once these 2 weather systems combine off of Long Island. What's another 18-24''+ of snow- right?:confused3

GB, what are you guys using for pipes........the tubes from the middle of the paper towels and TP?
You mean that's inappropriate??? j/k ;)
Marv... you have me rolling over here!!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I am generally a rule follower, so I quickly put my shirt back on, and headed to Classic Hall for some very important items- the greatest of which was lunch! I was ravishing… I mean, I was ravenous. Well, with my “cute” feet, I was both. Eh-hem, moving on.

It was time to decide if I would stick with the plan, or get really wild and crazier, and change my mind about what had been planned for about a year. This really was a crucial moment, and my decision was like setting the entire SOP of my solo time. In reality, a couple of other “items of business” dictated my plan. Not that I wanted to stick with what was written in the Minnie Book, or deviate because I could, but because…

I FORGOT MY TOOTHBRUSH!!!!

Right there on the bathroom counter at home, where you KNOW you’ve left YOURS too. At some point during your lifetime. On some important trip.

Maybe even to Disney World.

And if you have, then you know that you can pick one up for approximately $50- give or take a few. They have roughly 4 colors to choose from, but are sadly limited to only medium hard bristles. Worked for me; sorry if it didn’t for you.

Now, a boring pursuit of a toothbrush wasn’t the only quest I was on. I had one more extremely important item I needed to get. And this is my first tribute purchase…. To the one, the ONLY, the GREATEST BISCUIT! Ever since he posted about his incessant (but VERY fun solo) search of a Kookie pen, I knew I needed one. Well, I also knew it when I got to Classic Hall and didn’t have one to write my trip notes in the Mickey Book. It didn’t take long to find those $5.95 beauties, and I snatched me up one of these:

LiesaDay1073.jpg

I still use my Kookie and love it!! But I’ll always look fondly back at the very first time I used it. And it’s my job now to set up that scene for you…

The Food Court at POP is enormous. But I only had to find one food station. I knew long, long ago that the meal of the hour would be

Shrimp Chow Mein!! I had heard that this was a phenomenal meal, and couldn’t wait to try it. My “server” was a sweet lady who was absolutely charming as she took my order. Everything was going great until “Haiti” (that will have to do for her name, because that’s all I can remember from her nametag) told me they would need to cook more shrimp. I wisely used my time to trawl for a mug, but got hung up for a bit on which color of lid to go with. I went with black because that was more neutral than red or yellow. Remember that- for there will be another MORONIC MOMENT concerning all things MUG.

Coveted mug in hand- filled with $13.95 pop (the price would definitely come down over time), I sidled back up the noodle trough and watched “Haiti” dish me up a 4 gallon box of noodles mixed with a tasty assortment of al dente veggies and topped with about a dozen shrimps. I greedily grabbed them, but quickly handed them right back to her as if they were a poisonous concoction tainted with Ebola out of Restin. I have tried raw shrimp once about a year ago (that fiasco is in my Pre-Trip Report if you want to go back and find it), and never, I repeat NEVER, want to go there again. Haiti agreed with me, and threw them back on the grill to fry a bit longer. I worried about the top bit of noodle that might have been contaminated by the deadly bacteria, but that quickly vanished when she threw on about a half a dozen extras because of my long wait, and near death experience.

The finished product looked a lot like this (give or take a few shrimps that may have been consumed on the way to my table):

(Before consumption)

(After I’d eaten all I could)

While I happily munched away on my Chinese Culinary Concoction, I did something that would become a wonderfully relaxing habit during my trip. I stopped and wrote down many of my thoughts, tidbits about my day, things I had seen and done, and just took in the sights wherever I was. Whenever I took the time to stop, drop and write I became refreshed in body and spirit, and was so well worth the time!

LiesaDay1076.jpg

Shirt on, belly full, Kookie pen purchased, and toothbrush obtained it was time to head out to my first park! I headed out to the busses, and noticed along the way that Disney Cast Members are ready to bend over backwards to make my vacation the best one ever!

LiesaDay1079.jpg

Next up: D is for: Dang Good Touring!!

KOOKY PEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Katarina gave me one for my birthday last year. It is the face of one of the little alien squeaky toys from Toy Story! She was so proud of her purchase! She even paid for it all by herself!!! I found Woody and Jesse ones and mailed them to Santa for him to include in their Christmas Stockings last month!!!!!!!

I LOVE KOOKY PENS!

just thought you should know how I feel about that!

Kookie pens are THE BOMB!! I love how goofy and and well... kookie they are!! I guess they make me regress to about age 2 and a half, because I take great pleasure in shaking their fringy heads!

I served Oregon Spruce Goose Pinot Noir tonight. Very nice:thumbsup2

I just drove by the Goose on Saturday night in McMinnville- that thing is VERY large!!

I'll have to find a bottle of this one- sounds yummy!!

The ball looks very intreresting! Glad you had fun! I don't know how you did all that on top of moving! :worship:

I don't either- especially since the japanese dress I was planning on fixing and wearing didn't end up fitting after I re-attached the bodice, and I had to run out to the Mall and find something at the last minute to wear! :scared1::scared1:

Yes, the list is complete, except if I'm stranded, I really need chocolate - preferably plain M&Ms. That's an oxymoron. How can M&M's be plain??? They are chocolate and pretty colors. What's plain about that?

I'm afraid I'm a peanutty kind of gal. I'll make sure we have some of each for our Meet!

Oh! What?
Oh - how did you keep the animals away from your meat?

We hung it up high like you do for bear or put it into a cooler.

So True, I don't think that would be my favorite music, but the dancing definitely takes more skill than the "popular dances"

I went to Bek's ballroom dance class with her yesterday, and the teacher let me dance some since they were short a couple of gals. We practiced the foxtrot, and man was it fun!!!! I am seriously going to take the course next semester!

Hey! Tie game at 2 seconds, 3 point FG at 1 second - not bad! Did you see flames? How much wine did you have? :rotfl2: It was disappointing for sure.

It was a phenomenal game- down to the last 2 seconds!! What a great season they've had!!!:woohoo:

Finally!!! All caught up even with the chatter. :woohoo: When I had last really read you were still in Germany, so wooo I was a bit behind.

I am very impressed!! I know a lot of times I have to resort to links, but you did it!!! :worship:

I had to cancel DD#2's birthday trip last fall due to work and that really bummed me out, but reading your TR makes me excited to plan another trip. My oldest DD and some of her friends want to go the week before Christmas this year and my DH thinks that I should take my mom for her birthday in September. If I could get two trips in maybe it will make up for my disappointment of cancelling. :rotfl:

2 trips in 10 YEARS would be great! I'm so sorry you had to cancel, but looks like things are going to get better!! I really do hope these trips work out for you! :yay:

Aaannnny waaaays I just wanted to say:
The guy at the airport - total freak, back away from the toes, boy!

I'm just glad he wasn't on my flight- who knows where it might have gone!:lmao:

Getting locked out - one of my biggest fears!

I was so clueless- didn't even cross my mind that I could potentially get caught nekkid on the balcony.

Stripping of the shirt - :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: that's one way to get to know somebody quickly!

At least she knew not to mess with the "hot" Mama!

I'm sure there was more that I wanted to comment on but I can't remember what it is right now. (Maybe because it's going on 2 or I just have a bad memory. :rotfl:)

I start to type really stupid stuff at 2 AM also. When I begin to mess up, I know it's time to pack it in and stop posting. :lmao:

Morning Liessa !!! Your list didn't include CRUMPETS!!!!:rotfl2: Sorry couldn't find a pix of them!!!!!:rotfl2:

I posted some of those I made on my PTR; reminds me I need to save the next few tuna cans for new forms. I had to leave the old ones behind in Crapistan.

Better than Springer and "Who's your daddy?" :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

The news basically took over the daytime programming. Even they are slap happy from cooped up at the station. So the longer it goes on the more entertaining it gets.
They just did a segment on snow cream and were hysterical at not using the yellow snow. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

It is it's own reality show. :rotfl2:

Have you ever tried snow cream?? We LOVE it. The last time we did it though, it tasted horribly of coal smoke. Blech!!!

As for yellow snow... :lmao:

Ooooo, I want a kooky pen!
Lunch sounds yummy except for, well..... the shrimp. For some reason I only like shrimp breaded and deep fried.
I can't wait to read where you went for your first park.

I FORGOT MY TOOTHBRUSH!!!!

Right there on the bathroom counter at home, where you KNOW you’ve left YOURS too. At some point during your lifetime. On some important trip.

I would NEVER forget my toothbrush... I only forget my Disney tickets in my top drawer.... :rolleyes1

$6 for one huh? WOW. I bought Juliana a set of 4 princesses Kookie's from Costco for her Christmas stocking that cost me $6.99. Another crazy Disney markup!

NOOOOOOOOO. NOT RAW SHRIMP AGAIN!!!!!!!

Glad she was able to continue cooking them and added a few extra for ya! I will say that I've had ceviche made with shrimp before and I really liked it.

That's nice! I never do that then wish that I had.... but touring with a spouse, child and sometimes friends put a slight damper on doing this.

I start to type really stupid stuff at 2 AM also. When I begin to mess up, I know it's time to pack it in and stop posting. :lmao:

Another good time is after taking a sleeping pill. They don't put me to sleep right away so anything that spills from my mouth/fingertips sounds good to me. :lmao:

Jumping on the bandwagon here for the list of storm supplies.

I remember my first winter here in PA. it was the blizzard of 96. I went out to grab a few neccessary things for the storm, chocolate, Pepsi, pringles. But I couldn't find a single loaf of bread, or a gallon of milk to save my life. So I got hamburger buns and chocolate milk instead. But the thing I found most shocking was the amount of toilet paper people were buying.

So today were are supposed to get 1-5 inches of snow, that's nothing, but sure enough I stop at the store yesterday for nacho cheese, and wouldn't ya know it, there is no bread or milk and the TP aisle is pretty empty too. I can understand sort of, the stocking up for a long storm, but 1-5 inches? How much poopin are they palnning on doing?

I dunno, a few folks in our household have a pretty hard time with milk- causes inordinate amounts of poop. Then again, bread can work wonders for an antidote. :lmao:

GB, what are you guys using for pipes........the tubes from the middle of the paper towels and TP?
I had to pick up milk twice since Sunday, and both times it was because we were out! A bi-product of having teenage boys!
Beth, is that you??? :confused3
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We're a 1 gallon a day family. As for TP- we're a 2 roll a day kind of crowd.

Okay Liesa, no more pictures of the young lady here! One basement shrine is enough for anyone! :sad2: Right Dan??? :rotfl:

She's a lovely young lady- and her daddy has a .44.

I would NEVER forget my toothbrush... I only forget my Disney tickets in my top drawer.... :rolleyes1
I actually had a nightmare about that, well my tickets not yours. :rotfl: I dreamed that I had forgotten my mom's and my annual pass tickets at home and they wouldn't let me in even though I showed ID and tried to buy more tickets. :sad2:

I actually had a nightmare about that, well my tickets not yours. :rotfl: I dreamed that I had forgotten my mom's and my annual pass tickets at home and they wouldn't let me in even though I showed ID and tried to buy more tickets. :sad2:

Glad it was only a nightmare!

I was on the plane about to taxi to the runway when I realized that I had left the tickets home. The horror set in for a second then I had to lean over and tell my wife what I did.

Sooo, how does one go about remedying that type of situation? Did you have to purchase new tickets? I bet she was reeeaaalllly happy. :furious:

:snooty: I think I was traumatized by modern dancing in Italy when I was 16. We went to a club one night and my friend was dancing with this Italian guy and he thought it was appropriate to grab her crotch while dancing. :scared1:

I would love to go to balls like in all the Jane Austen books/movies.

Same thing happened to me on a Med. cruise/European trip I took in my soph. year. Things are pretty crazy there. And it WAS traumatizing.

It is exactly like that. Our costumes aren't quite as fancy, but the dancing is the same, and the people just as mannerly.

You could come with me to work sometime (I'm a mobile DJ) I think I will keep my DD locked up until she is at least 21. :lmao:

I shudder to even think about what you see on a typical Saturday night. Or maybe I should be just as worried about hwat you don't see. :confused3

So glad she's a bit better! but better to be safe with her!

We've got a nice slick layer of frozen rain all over the place right now. Not fun!

Ooooo, I want a kooky pen!
Lunch sounds yummy except for, well..... the shrimp. For some reason I only like shrimp breaded and deep fried.
I can't wait to read where you went for your first park.

I am seeing Kookie pens more and more. Just saw them at Micheal's the other day- should have gotten another!

Raw shrimp is really, really, really bad!!

Hmmmm.... where did I go????

Sooo, how does one go about remedying that type of situation? Did you have to purchase new tickets? I bet she was reeeaaalllly happy. :furious:

We had my FIL get the tix from our house and my mom over nighted them to us. But I also called Undercover Tourist (where we bought the tickets from) and they were able to reissue them to us at the park. I wouldn't of had our parents go though all this but it happened on a Saturday and when I called, UT wasn't open until Monday (and the shipped tix wouldn't arrive till Monday either). We weren't going to a park till Monday and I thought if worse came to worse, we could just go to DTD in the am and wait for our tickets to arrive on Monday afternoon then hit the park.

It all worked out though. :goodvibes

I would NEVER forget my toothbrush... I only forget my Disney tickets in my top drawer.... :rolleyes1

Oh, you'd never do that! :rolleyes1 And I got a score of 999,999 on TSM too.

I guess that would have to do. I mean, do we have a choice? :confused3

Nope, they hold you hostage to those.

$6 for one huh? WOW. I bought Juliana a set of 4 princesses Kookie's from Costco for her Christmas stocking that cost me $6.99. Another crazy Disney markup!

I know. And we are all willing to play this game of extortion every time we go. :sad2:

NOOOOOOOOO. NOT RAW SHRIMP AGAIN!!!!!!!

Glad she was able to continue cooking them and added a few extra for ya! I will say that I've had ceviche made with shrimp before and I really liked it.

I've never had that- not sure I could. Haiti knew how to make me very happy!

That looks great!

That's nice! I never do that then wish that I had.... but touring with a spouse, child and sometimes friends put a slight damper on doing this.

I really loved all the times I stopped to smell the roses- just like I promised myself I would last year!!

Another good time is after taking a sleeping pill. They don't put me to sleep right away so anything that spills from my mouth/fingertips sounds good to me. :lmao:

Or having a glass of wine. :lmao:

OOOOOOOOOOOOOO another piece of the TR! woot!
When we took the kids a couple of years ago, I packed everything for them. And i thought for me. Let me list the things i forgot for me.
1.toothbrush($3.95 i believe):rolleyes1
2.hairdryer(used my daughters, with her protest)
3.my belt. (that was my "thinner time") "I" hold up my pants now.:rotfl:
4. And ALL MY UNDERWEAR,:scared1: except the 3 pair i put in my carryon in case luggage was lost. I even remember where i had it folded to go into the suitcase.
5. oh and 1 of a pair of shoes.:cutie:but i brought plenty of others. (flipflop fool that i am!)

Kids were all set tho...:lmao:

KIM

I actually had a nightmare about that, well my tickets not yours. :rotfl: I dreamed that I had forgotten my mom's and my annual pass tickets at home and they wouldn't let me in even though I showed ID and tried to buy more tickets. :sad2:

That would be the MOST horrible nightmare ever. Even worse than being within 50 yards of GB after WCC!

Glad it was only a nightmare!

I was on the plane about to taxi to the runway when I realized that I had left the tickets home. The horror set in for a second then I had to lean over and tell my wife what I did.

I remember Melody NOT being very haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaapy. :lmao: (We CAN laugh about that now. Right, Tim?)
