I agree with the others...your Donald does look very similar to the artists. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the dog, and nice wallpaper in the picture. ;)

And the second, was a picture of our...

NEW DOG!!!

He is a big boy, but very, very sweet natured. The kids, especially Mikki, adore him, and he is already trained to sit, lay, stay, and come. We have our work to do in making him "heel"- for now we take "drags", not "walks".
:lmao::lmao:
Anyway, here he is; The ONE, the ONLY, the DAVEY!!!

Davey004.jpg

Hooray for DAVEY! Welcome to your new family. I'm sure you're gonna like it there!:)

P.S. See below for the Glenn post I was referring to:
Judy wanted to play the game at the Waste Management exhibit, “Don’t Waste It!”, and hey, what’s better than a game about recycling and incineration and....detritus?
Page 227, post 3394

haha!! nice try, pal.

But I gotta give credit where credit is due... you were the man of the hour!
hey i had to try didnt I?

actually when compaired to his drawing yours does look good.

your bill is a little fatter but when i first saw his, i thought that was your before i scrolled down.
:thumbsup2

Davey is adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok maybe that's not the right word for such a large dog but he sure looks like a sweetheart. And hopefully just what Mikki needs :goodvibes

If you think I was going to give you a Liesa greeting with that, you're dead wrong, Mister.

:lmao::lmao:

Exactly- ever seen Jackson Pollack?? :lmao::lmao:

I'm pretty sure that's exactly who I had in mind when I came up with my art rule!

Davey looks like a beautiful dog. And I agree with Glenn--nice wallpaper! :rotfl2: I had no idea they could make wallpaper out of detritus.

Thanks for posting the pics Liesa! You were pretty durn close on that one. Hat's off to ya. Congrats on the dog! I'm glad the kids like him. But the real question is, how did Tate take it?

Liesa, your drawing is nearly as good as the animator's. I am very proud of you. You'll remember that mine was much better than Mark's--his looked like a platypus compared to mine.

The new puppy is adorable...welcome Davey!

Actually, I think I prefer your Donald to the instructor's. Your Donald sort of looks like he just shoved an entire piece of Tonga Toast in his mouth and smiled about it and then made eyes at Daisy. Although, I am certainly no expert on art.

That's a very handsome dog. I bet he is adored and doted on by all your kids.

Davey is adorable!!!! Oh my gosh it's so exciting when someone gets a new pet. And he's already house broken! Too bad husbands don't come that way :rotfl2: :lmao:

Not directly, just via FB. Seems good but life busy :goodvibes

She must be lurking, because she FB'd me last night with her phone number... I'll give a call soon :)

Okay, it took 2 nights, and falling asleep while I was reading, (not because it was boring) but I think I'm caught up. I had to skip some of the brilliant chatter.

Liesa, love your house!!! What a wonderful location. Umm, why did you say you have to live with that wallpaper?:confused3

Liesa, your Donald looks pretty darn good. You are a woman of many talents!

Your dog looks like a sweetheart!

I know how it goes in trying to get caught up! I hope I can spend part of today getting some more of my threads read and replied to-including yours- where I'm terribly behind.

Kudos to you for sticking with it! :goodvibes

Well, until I have some direction and extra cashola, I'm stuck with the wallpaper. I took a whole bunch more photos to send to my aunt whose a brilliant interior decorator, and hope to get some inspiration from her. Ideally, I'd love to have her come up here from San Diego, but she is battling Lou Gerig's Disease, and it's getting more difficult for her to be out and about. :sad1:

Donald was fun to do, but even more fun to have a partner picture go along with him!!

Davey loves his new home, and had his first opportunity to bark at a stranger. The phone guys finally came and hooked us up, and boy does he have a great BARK!!! :thumbsup2

Hi Liesa,

I've been away for months and have quite a bit of catching up to do. I just wanted to say HI!

Sophia

WOWWW!! Welcome back!! It HAS been awhile, Sophia!! I hope things are well in your world, and that you come back to hang out with us often! Enjoy catching up along the way, there's some pretty funny stuff there!

I agree with the others...your Donald does look very similar to the artists. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the dog, and nice wallpaper in the picture. ;)

Still, he DOES have an inflated beak. But all in all, not bad. I don't think I'll send in my resume anytime soon, though.

yeah, nice wallpaper! :sad2: Now, I"m stuck with wallpaper that would make even Lucy in the Sky cringe, but also wads of dog hair floating across the floor.

What a sweet dog! :goodvibes

Thanks, TK! I know he got a great home with a whole slew of kids who are already doting on him.

Hooray for DAVEY! Welcome to your new family. I'm sure you're gonna like it there!:)

P.S. See below for the Glenn post I was referring to:

Page 227, post 3394

He already seems to fit right in!

Got it; and he explained to me that he actually used it after me. But heck I just love that word, so anyone who can work it in has my utmost appreciation!! :dance3:

hey i had to try didnt I?

actually when compaired to his drawing yours does look good.

your bill is a little fatter but when i first saw his, i thought that was your before i scrolled down.
:thumbsup2

You sure did! Never hurts to ask, I could photo copy it for you, if you like :)

Thanks- I tried my best (without a stinkin' eraser).

Davey is adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok maybe that's not the right word for such a large dog but he sure looks like a sweetheart. And hopefully just what Mikki needs :goodvibes

I like Davey too. He very cuddle-able and a great foot warmer in the evenings when we let him in. Mikki dotes on him, for sure!!

Welcome Davey!! I am a bit scared of large dogs, but he looks like he is very friendly! I am so glad that Mikki got him, I saw her FB post about it and knew why you really needed to give a camera.

Oh, and I am with Glen, you some really lovely wallpaper there! :lmao:

And for the record, I can't tell you HOW many times that actually happened to me there!! :sad2:
I actually looked up Liesa in Google Translator and in Kazakh it said it meant "lamb with wool on feet!" No really, I'm not making that up at all.........okay, maybe a little!!!

Agree with others who said that compared to the illustrator's version of Fauntleroy you won, your version is a whole lot better than it first appeared.....No really, I'm not making that up at all......:rotfl:

And welcome to Davey! He's a great looking dog! :thumbsup2 .....No really!!! :)

Ix-nay on the irky-quay. She really talks like that. ;)

:rotfl2:

Kudos to you Glenn for the great usage of Pig-Latin! I would have been stumped by that except......I speak it fluently!!!!! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Y'all crack me up!

I have been amazed at how God shows His love to all of us!!

Amen sista! He shows it so beautifully through you though. Your heart astounds me, I'm so proud to have you as my sister InC. Your always amazing me with your ability to give and when I think you've given so much already.... your still giving! :lovestruc It's truly beyond my ability to comprehend how God does that in us sometimes, when you think about being made in his image and how that image can be tainted by our world around us and yet you still see people being so giving inspite of it.....well, I'm in awe. It takes truly being open to Him to be formed and molded by Him, your this beautiful because of being that open. I have always felt I have so much to learn, about life, love, GOD, and never enough time to do it in....when your around I feel I've only scratched the surface, you show me how I have so much more to learn about being a giving and a loving person and I'm so honored your my friend so I can draw from you and learn to do just that. Thank you Lord for Mary and all those you've made like her. :thumbsup2

"Okay, enough of this sappy shhhhhhhhhhow of emotion." Take that Mr. Movie. Line.....knower.

Well, I finally got a camera from my neighbor and took a couple pix. The first is the artist's Donald...

Davey001.jpg

And mine for comparison:

Davey is one cool dog, you sure you shouldn't have named him snoopy?
TheBeagle-1.jpg

Your Donald is actually pretty darn good, your several steps ahead of me, I refused to go in and be shown up by my daughter and have her laugh at my pethetic excuse of art. :rotfl:
Maybe when I'm on my next trip I'll be brave. :goodvibes

Davey is adorable!!!! Oh my gosh it's so exciting when someone gets a new pet. And he's already house broken! Too bad husbands don't come that way :rotfl2: :lmao:
 Jen!
:lmao:

Jackson Pollack- the man who can really throw paint around, makes large sums of money, and says he is inspired. I wonder where his kids go to kindergarten?

I saw a quote a while back that I loved:

"Modern art is a product of the untalented, sold by the unprincipled, to the utterly bewildered. " E.M. Forster

Thanks for posting the pics Liesa! You were pretty durn close on that one. Hat's off to ya. Congrats on the dog! I'm glad the kids like him. But the real question is, how did Tate take it?

Close, but not so much that I will land a high-paying, high prestige job with the Animators. Ah well... 'Twas very fun!

Tate has been cooking up some fun for ya'll, so he hardly noticed the ummm...hostile takeover of his territory. And by hostile, I do mean at EVERY corner, an in between!

Liesa, your drawing is nearly as good as the animator's. I am very proud of you. You'll remember that mine was much better than Mark's--his looked like a platypus compared to mine.

The new puppy is adorable...welcome Davey!

I do remember that!! It was pretty funny how some really looked pretty good and some definitely did not!
But either way, everyone who did it was comparing notes with their family or friends, and that's good enough for a long time!

Thanks, I'll pass along your greetings to Davey!! I know he'd give you a big fat juicy dog lick!

Actually, I think I prefer your Donald to the instructor's. Your Donald sort of looks like he just shoved an entire piece of Tonga Toast in his mouth and smiled about it and then made eyes at Daisy. Although, I am certainly no expert on art.

LOL!!! VERY funny!! :lmao: I'm sure Donald would definitely have taken Daisy to Kona for a special date!

Davey is still learning all about his territory, and is doing a superb job at marking his entire yard. :sad2:

:lmao::lmao: Still working on the simple commands of:

1) Put the seat down.

2) Socks in the hamper.

3) Trash out!

And a few others I'll let go- being this is a family board.

Welcome Davey!! I am a bit scared of large dogs, but he looks like he is very friendly! I am so glad that Mikki got him, I saw her FB post about it and knew why you really needed to give a camera.

Oh, and I am with Glen, you some really lovely wallpaper there! :lmao:

To be very honest, Magdalene, I am too- ever since that run in with Daisy. Do you know my hand NEVER healed completely from that?? It is still quite sore in the thick muscle below my thumb, and to pull the thumb backwards.

And then last night i took a pretty bad spill on my floor (that'll teach me from keeping it so clean!) and re-injured it a bit. But this dog seems to be very friendly and doesn't have that "wild side" that Daisy had. But having said that, I won't go near ANY dogs I don't know now, and instinctivley pick a rock or stick if I come across one while walking now.

yeah, that yucky wallpaper. What's a girl to do....

I actually looked up Liesa in Google Translator and in Kazakh it said it meant "lamb with wool on feet!" No really, I'm not making that up at all.........okay, maybe a little!!!

And welcome to Davey! He's a great looking dog! :

Kazakhs don't proposition lambs! I mean EWWWWWWWWW!!! As for feet- I'll let yo judge after a few more installments on the TR.

Ok, maybe I was too harsh on myself. It wasn't BAD, just not GREAT.

Thanks! I generally don't enjoy big dogs, especially when they are jumping and slobbering all over me. But this one seems to fit in so well already, and the kids are LOVING. Oh, except when they have to break out the "Doggy Bags". Which really makes me wonder why we ask for those at restaurants. Sorta puts a whole new spin on that term. :confused3

Snoopy would have been good- except, I think it was a very deliberate naming (totally Mikki's doing) to help her "replace" Daisy.
Whether she realizes it or not, this dog is therpy for her!

No, you should go, because at the very least it would get you talking and laughing!!

fwp-smiley-02.gif

This one might be better....

OH nice! Aren't we all getting our funny on!! :rolleyes1
