Hi Liesa, I really enjoyed your update, one can tell from reading it how excited you were about arriving at WDW!

I hope your speech goes well, I am sure everyone will love it and you will be able find just the right words. :goodvibes

WOOHOO! 50s section!!! I love that spot! It looks like your room was almost right where mine was the last time I stayed there. Too bad about locking your key in the room. It's a nightmare of mine... so glad you lived it for me :p

I love your location at POP. I requested that area since Lady and the Tramp is my dd's favorite movie.

Back to the grind. And my Mother in Law is in town. So I don't mind working so much.

Got her pretty good today. We ordered some new furniture a few weeks back and the last of it came today. They called me to deliver it while I was at work and I asked if they would take my MIL for an extra fee. The guy seemed unphased so I figured he just wasn't in a joking mood.

About an hour later, I get a call from MIL. The delivery guy wants to know where the old furniture is to pick up. I advised her I was referring to her. She groaned and told the guy what I meant and he nearly fell out. He was already cracking up over my voicemail when he called me the first time. Apparently he was not expecting to hear a VM greeting from Bubba Ray Boucher the Cajun Cowboy.

:lmao: GB, that is hilarious.

I just got back from my first-ever holiday involving in-laws. And they're nice people and all. But sheesh. Any advice from you wonderful people on how to handle eight+ hours of solid visiting with your in-laws (as in, sitting around the table, just the three of us, for eight solid hours) without going insane? I can't talk to anyone for that long without burning out -- not even myself! ;)

Anyway, on to the update! Liesa, what an awesome room location! I've always wondered how they handle it when someone locks themselves out -- did you have to resort to descriptions like "There's a purple makeup bag in the outer pocket of the black suitcase with a quarter-full bottle of cotton candy pink nail polish inside..."?

But being a single traveler and having stowed no luggage under the carriage, I had a massive advantage in getting to the head of the class. I bee-lined it straight for the check-in desks saving my gawking for a later time.
Smooth move! I can't imagine how long that would of taken us to get to the desk. :confused3

Now, I’ll bet you’re all (at least those of you who played the Master Predictor Game) intently wondering which section I got!! Are you ready?? This is your answer to #1 on the Master Predictor Game. I will go back through your answers soon, and find out who guessed:
Hummmm... I remember playing this game but I have no idea what I picked. I don't even know where to find it anymore. :confused3

1) It was a short walk to Classic Hall and all its outrageous amenities. Insane amounts of food choices (including a divine breakfast pizza!), the big pool, and some groovin’ tunes to jam out to on your way there!
Hummm.... I thought 70's tunes were groovy and 50's tunes were more ummmm OLD!

2) If you ask for the back of it, you get a view such as this:

LiesaDay1068.jpg

LiesaDay1067.jpg
That's no backside of water but it does look nice!

3) It has some seriously great protection by a gigantic guard dog who is used to pulling some action in the toughest sections of town, yet savvy enough to act refined when necessary.
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Interesting how conveniently “random” the letters behind that dancing fool turned out.

LiesaDay1071.jpg
:lmao::lmao:

That pic is Perfect! :thumbsup2

So did you use that bounceback offer?????? :surfweb: popcorn::popcorn:: :rolleyes1

Feeling rather secure, and LOVING our location, Tate and I started to get settled in. He was VERY happy to finally be liberated from his bag, and approved of our accommodations. S/he immediately started jumping on the beds to make sure they were fit for a Potato, and deemed them suitable. I was glad to know they were fit for jumping on and contemplated following suit, but restrained myself this time.

LiesaDay1066.jpg
HAHA Is it S/he or Shim? Is TOP ever going to get a sexuality test?

Your bag looks great! Love the LGMH!

Sorry you locked yourself out and made to make the trek Baaaaaack and Forth, Baaaaaack and Forth... but at least you were getting yourself primed for walking in the parks! :thumbsup2

Okay all caught up!! Boy go for a Stress Test and miss 3 pages !!:lmao:I have only stayed in the 60's or 50's at Pop !! Judy is definately a 60's Gal !!Was not happy with our 50's location so got us switched to the 60's !!This August we have preferrred and requested 60's adjoining as opposed to connecting !!Think we will stand a better shot !!
I locked my card in the room once and they did not ask me anything except the room # !!See Marv I am innocent !! Who could question a sweet innocent little English Lady!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

The bus lumbered into POP with a big sigh of relief (squeak….. psssssss)

I thought you just went to the bathroom in the last update.

...OH, the bus. Never mind.

Let me soliloquize a little on the 50's section of the POP, since I’m sure you all want to know.

What "soliloquize" means, yes. ::yes::

Looks awesome!

Interesting how conveniently “random” the letters behind that dancing fool turned out.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

If I ever stay there, I'm going to ask for the poo building, just to see what they say.

I was happily (and obliviously)

Woohoo! A shout-out! :woohoo:

snapping away, and satisfied I had gotten the best shots I could get with POC, turned the handle to get back in. Pfffft! Great! Another great thing (most of the time, except when Moron #1 strolls in) about POP is that you can always be sure that your room is secure!

D'oh! I suppose you could have tried to break it down, but then the guard dog might have turned on you.

good thing you didnt lock yourself out when u were on your balcony later that night in your bare feet and flashing people walking by, otherewise you would not have your required shoes and shirt to get another key.
;)

see there is always a way that a situation can be worse.

How frustrating, Dan!
smiley-bangheadonwall-yellow.gif
very nice, thanks, i like it.

Sorry that I didn't see this in a timely fashion. I'm glad Tammie was able to help out with this request!
glenn you dropped the ball, i think you may have lost your title as smiley king man

I was very excited, but more than just being in WDW, I was anxious to see HOW the trip and all its juicy details would play out.

It went very well!!

I think it might have been! Such a nice view, quiet, close to the elevators, but not too, and better music than Saturday Night Fever.

Sad....but true.

Now that would have been a sight.

I somehow lost a quote along the way. Liesa - Pop at night ROCKS! It's such a cool place.

Hope the speech went well.

I lose quotes faster than I eat potato chips out of a bag.

Honestly, I didn't actually take that nighttime stroll I thought I would at POP, but just walking back from the food court at night was enough to make me just happy I was where I was.

I love your location at POP. I requested that area since Lady and the Tramp is my dd's favorite movie.

It definitely was one of Disney's better animated flicks- clean, funny, and good story line.

:lmao: GB, that is hilarious.

In-laws... gotta love 'em. I walk on eggshells most of hte time with mine too- but was very, very sad when I lost my MIL. She was a rock in our family. but I totally get what you're saying! Talking to them for hours was sometimes disastrous!

It was almost like that!! I don't remember all the questions he asked me, but it made me very nervous when he asked me Mary's phone number! I hadn't memorized it, and of course, my phone was in the room! :scared1: So were my clean underwear- which I was almost ready to need had it gone on much longer!

Hi! Just finished reading the last update. Love Pop! Bestest value resort eva!
And also found the food to be tasty too. ;)

Carry on........:surfweb:

Smooth move! I can't imagine how long that would of taken us to get to the desk.

You've got to be one step ahead of the competitions. Pictures on my own timetable is great! And not having to wait to check in is even better!! :thumbsup2

Hummmm... I remember playing this game but I have no idea what I picked. I don't even know where to find it anymore. :confused3

Mike is down in Salem with another load of stuff, so I have the entire evening before me to to some thread housekeeping- like tallying up scores for #1. Aren't you excited to find out what you guessed???? I wrote most of the answers down and they're on my flashka ( the Russian word for flashstick); some later answers (Cynthias and a few others, maybe Dan's) are still in my inbox here. More later......

Hummm.... I thought 70's tunes were groovy and 50's tunes were more ummmm OLD!

They may be old, but in a freakish sort of way, I know all the words. NO, 70s is just odd, Barry Manilow, The BGs, all that stuff.

That's no backside of water but it does look nice!

Schweitzer it is not, but lovely just the same.

:lmao:

That pic is Perfect! :thumbsup2

I find poo wherever I go. It's a talent; what can I say?

So did you use that bounceback offer?????? :surfweb: popcorn:: :rolleyes1

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

No. Otherwise this TR would be done by now.

HAHA Is it S/he or Shim? Is TOP ever going to get a sexuality test?

I've heard those are pretty expensive. Less expensive that just buying clothes to suit both "styles".

Your bag looks great! Love the LGMH!

Wanna buy it for say... a trip? :lmao:

Sorry you locked yourself out and made to make the trek Baaaaaack and Forth, Baaaaaack and Forth... but at least you were getting yourself primed for walking in the parks! :thumbsup2

I think I got enough priming going from my gate to Hallway B at MCO. That place may as well be like in Siberia.

Okay all caught up!! Boy go for a Stress Test and miss 3 pages !!:lmao:I have only stayed in the 60's or 50's at Pop !! I hope your stress test didn't stress you out too much! Everything ok??

REALLY??!! Switched out of the 50s? It was so lovely there, and peaceful on the backside! I spent a bit of time by the hippy dippy, and found it to be so grossly phrenetic!! OverLOAD! tis ok, resorts do need some places of each! I like the variety they all offer!

:eek:You mean they gave you a key just like that?? See... they knew you'd only pilfer someone's deodorant and the Piglet shirts- not the Tink shirts. ;)

I thought you just went to the bathroom in the last update.

...OH, the bus. Never mind.

The similarities were striking, weren't they?? :lmao::lmao:

What "soliloquize" means, yes. ::yes::

yeah, kinda like that.

If I ever stay there, I'm going to ask for the poo building, just to see what they say. [/QUOTE]

What would be scary is if they said, "Sure, sir. Which room would you like?" :rotfl2:

Woohoo! A shout-out! :woohoo:

You never know when one might just come your way!!

D'oh! I suppose you could have tried to break it down, but then the guard dog might have turned on you.

But it might have broken one of my nails...

good thing you didnt lock yourself out when u were on your balcony later that night in your bare feet and flashing people walking by, otherewise you would not have your required shoes and shirt to get another key.
;)

And that, my man wouldn have been a very tragic thing, indeed!!! Because, it was highly likely I was out flashing folks on my balcony! :lmao::lmao: Although I can neither confirm nor deny that at the end of a long day in the parks I changed into jammies at all!

but in all seriousness.... there actually IS a FLASHING story coming up soon!! Really. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

see there is always a way that a situation can be worse.

Way to put a a good spin on it, Dan- you're always the one to look at the bright side of things.

glenn you dropped the ball, i think you may have lost your title as smiley king man

Did I just witness a de-frocking of sorts!?

KIM

It is a nice place- but I will do a more thorough opininating later on POP in general.

All the food I got there, really was pretty good- no complaints at all. Of course, it certainly wasn't JIKO, but then again neither were the prices.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: About locking yourself out. I have not done that yet ( knock wood) probably I am so afraid of locking myself out I wont let go of the door until I have triple checked that I have my key. :rotfl2:

Now I will admit- if I did lock my self out of room I would be the one to walk back up to the desk and then not know my room number. The first thing I do now when I am alone is take a picture of the room number.
I think I had luggage service bring a fridge up tothe room and I had to show him a picture of the room number.:rotfl2: Then my camera has all this info on the screen so I could not even figure out how to tget teh info off or read the room number with accuracy. :rotfl2:

Since I was there in December all my groovy tunes were Christmas ones. It's hard to shake your groove thang to "I'm gettin nothing Christmas." I did my best though.

 I did not even think of POP Christmas music. Was it the traditional stuff or the groovy " I'm getting nuttin for Christmas"? I like a good mix but lean towards to the wacky versions like the McKenzie Brothers 12 days days of Christmas.
Hmmmm I may need to be at POP over the holidays to hear that. :rolleyes1
