The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Ok, that place looks great.
Want.

I just saw a FB post where someone got one... sort of.
Their stuffed animal was wrapped in a towel and a hat was put on it.
Close enough, right?

Doesn't it look FUN!? Seriously, the steampunk theming is SO COOL!! And the elegance of it all. Sure you don't wanna give it a whirl in October next year with some DISFriends??

Well, yeah, close enough. I mean, really I'd be happy with a Mickey head. Yep, would really love me just one Mickey Head.

First, nice job on your exam! :cheer2: One less test to go!

I think your plans are shaping up nicely! I really like your Mickey "wish notes" they are so cute, and what a great way to remember all the things to do.

I'd like to try Beaches and Cream someday, it's on my "wish" list :goodvibes

One more down, 3 regular exams and 1 Final to go!! :)

Another set of Mickey Wishes coming up on Wednesday. It'll be fun to see exactly how many we can crank out during our trip! The food was really only so-so; if you want better icecreamy desserts, I'd head to Ghiradelli. But B&C is a fun place if you're nearby.

Keeping with the "M" theme: Magnificent!:thumbsup2

I dare you to come up with some clever for N besides "Nice" or "Nifty".

I, for one, had all of this memorized. Please don't quiz me on that.

How about now?

I think this is Julie's favorite part of vacation: not having to make dinner! It's totally worth the cost to her.

You could save a lot of money by YOU making it.

Zero. The quota is zero.

Pfffft. Figment rocks. Although I don't fart wherever I want, he's ADHD like me.

Certainly better than any day in the real world!

You KNOW it!!

I hear ya. I just tell the others they'd better be good at looking surprised.

Works for me. Actually, I may be having to get each of them a cheapo phone because we're really starting to have communication issues with so many people needing to go so many directions these days.

Hi Leisa! I have finally gotten around to reading all about the Marvelous letter M!

I can't believe you have also admitted to a lack of complete infatuation with illuminations. I'm sure you will still have your fans here anyway. :rotfl2:it seems perfectly reasonable to hit the rides with shorter lines.

Edison sounds pretty strange to me. I'm thinking Boathouse is on my bucket list, but heck, we haven't done Raglan Road yet.

Well you know in the medical world some days give you hemorrhoids and some days give you chicken pox - just keep swimming. :fish:some days give you flowers and cookies of gratefulness too. Those days remind you why you do what you do.

Yeah, I know. I'm a hater. Whatver. ;)

I've not done ANY of those. Hoping to make a HUGE dent in my never-been-there list this time around. Pretty excited about that!

Very true! Some days are super hectic and tiring in a good way, others the same, but in a BAD way. Got to see a God thing patient outcome on Friday that really touched my heart. I love what I do!!

Interesting. But...

... but this is fascinating.
Read the link. I think it's cool you had a hand in that.

It was very cool! Something I'll never forget and always be honored to have been a part of. :)

Wow, that is really interesting to me! I never saw that movie, but the part about doing research on the cremains is fascinating! See, I'm a total research geek, I love it! Don't know why though! :confused3 So I would really enjoy doing something like that.

6 weeks is gonna fly by! As busy as you are it will be here in no time!

It was a lot of detail work and super fascinating to see the historical charts and see how mental healthcare has changed since them. Espcially now that I've studied it some and had my psych rotation in that same hospital.

It is flying by SO FAST!! We're over halfway done now, and only have 5 weeks left. Sometimes it goes by too quickly as I feel like I wished I had an extra day or two to study.

How fascinating to match the remains , must have been quite an accomplished feeling as you matched each one you did . I don't know if you are on my thread "Rosie Roams in 2015" It is a sequel to Rosie Roams in 2014 and a Triology of Rosie Roams in 2013 :rotfl2:

I loved it!! The team had a few people on it that pissed me off in one way or another, but it was fascinating work all around. :)

Ok, I definitely need my memory refreshed. But we do care.

(Shhh, don't tell anyone, but so do I!)

Ah yes, the ditch and F&W. Of course you're going back to EPCOT!

Yeppers. But I forgot to mention in that update, that Via Napoli might be on the docket for that night. I mean, we can always skip a crappy lunch at DHS and head straight to F&W for that meal, and then do pizza that night. (Like how I plan on the fly in my own PTR? ) I actually like this plan better. (... now where's my favorite mechanical pencil to update the Master Plan?)

I agree... I like Illuminations fine... but that's what it is. It's fine. I love the explosions and the fireworks, but it just isn't that great of a cohesive show.

That's exactly it! It's just not a cohesive show with a solid story. Save the planet, everyone play nice, blah, blah, blah. I dunno, just lacks something.

I always have a hard time making this call. But it would seem to make sense to make it an early evening.

I think we're gonna need a couple of earlier evenings in the mix. Burnout is real, People!

::yes:: And that would make you...

Ok, yeah, I won't go there. :rolleyes1

Good idea. ;)

So they open your mail too????

Just act surprised, kids.

Must be a universal rudity.

And that kitchen sink looks awesome. What are the odds that someone could eat that by themselves???? :scratchin

Slim. It was as big as this year's property tax bill.

Playing catch up after playing for a week! Your plans are shaping up and the year is flying by! I sent you a FB PM.

Jill in CO

It really is! Can you believe it's already NOVEMBER!!??! WOWZA!

Pretty much caught up. Sounds like your studies are progressing, and so are your plans. Keep chugging along. ;)

I will! One day at a time. Sometimes one HOUR at a time. :)

Just keep up the good work. We'll be here! Hope all your studies and tests are still going well!

Thanks! They are going quite well. As usual, I don't feel I"m really ready for Exam #3 on Wednesday, but ah well. I'm just aiming to do my best and let it play out as it will. Hope you're enjoying your cruise too! I'm sad I haven't been able to be on your thread as much as I'd like!!

You are doing great - your family must be so proud of you! I would be a really stressed out grumpy-pants, it sounds like you are handling the stress better than I would. Way to go! Hopefully you will see some things on your shift that will reinforce what you have been learning too, and that will count as real world studying.

It is VERY stressful. My family really doesn't even see me very much- when I AM home, my rearend is planted in one place that doesn't move for HOURS at a time. Sad. Yes! In fact, we're studying IV nutrition in Theory for the exam on Wednesday, and I actually got to hang a bag in Clinical last Friday. It was awesome!

Wow, crazy goat story!! I can't imagine having to deal with...goats falling..amongst all the other stuff you are doing lol and here I thought I was busy!! I'm sure you will ace all your exams and such but it's always good to have the superiors on your side :))

They've been a lot of trouble getting off the lines and we've spent WAY too much money on them. BUT, they do eat a lot of vegetation and are cleaning up the property really nicely! Still cheaper than the new riding mower would have been.

Love your AK plans!! Off to work, but wanted to add my guess quickly!

And the N pictures are:
Night, Nuggets, Nemo

I knew it was all golden, as truly sick animals (and people) don't do any of those things.

Sounds like a stressful time with the goat, but I guess all's well that ends well.

Definitely feeling a TON of the pressure off now.

:woohoo: I know the end is far from near, but that's a very good place to be!

Time to slow down, get myself into true vacation mode, and get the camera out and do something I really love to do.

I don't think there's any better park to do that in than AK.

At the suggestion of Glenn, if we've already made it over to Sanaa on our first AK day, we'll forage at the Market Place. But you know, seriously, I have not made up my mind AT ALL about where to really sink my teeth into. Yak and Yeti is a great place for a DumSummy nosh, and the Flame Tree is always a great place to eat in a pretty setting as well. Honestly, until I can sit down with some serious time on my hands with my spreadsheets, look at prices and menus again, and ask the kids to give their votes (may be going with a blind voting system with points and stuff) I may not truly be able to say for sure.

Boy, I would have a very hard time passing up Flame Tree. I think that's my favorite counter-service spot.

Made the decision a while ago that my Official Celebration Dinner will be at the Flying Fish.

It was either @glennbo123 or @Flossbolna who said that they have the absolute best steak on property.

You are all cordially invited to come and celebrate with me, and then head over to the late Yeehaw Bob show at POR. Should be a great time of merry-making, silly dancing, sing-alongy, funness that I'd love to get photos of you at so I can post.

I would so LOVE to be there for this! At the very least we will be there in spirit so you can photoshop us into the pictures.:thumbsup2

Anywhoooo..... we also had our first "farm emergency" as well this week.
I'm glad it wasn't anything worse and that you were able to take care of it!

Hopefully, Ursula won't wreak too much havoc as we pass the night, and we'll wake up all refreshed and ready to go. (More likely, I'll wake up looking pretty much LIKE Ursula and have to seek coffee and a shower stat. In that order. And hopefully, she'll have stolen my kids' voices and I can have some peace and quiet until I get that coffee. Verandas await!)
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Might even be fun to have you all make a little photo scavenger hunt of sorts for me. Anyone wanna throw out a photo challenge for me? Something with a certain letter? Certain theme? Particular shot?
Hmmm... Ok, how about pictures of random/obscure objects taken around the parks and then you can assemble them in some kind of order when you return to tell a story.

Honestly, until I can sit down with some serious time on my hands with my spreadsheets, look at prices and menus again, and ask the kids to give their votes (may be going with a blind voting system with points and stuff) I may not truly be able to say for sure. All the options are great ones; we won't be going hungry. Christmas break will be the time of intense planning and finalizing things more.
I think this is a good place for a "go with your gut." I mean, leave it open for either Harambe markt, Flame Tree or Yak & Yeti CS and then just go with what sounds good at the time!

Made the decision a while ago that my Official Celebration Dinner will be at the Flying Fish. That's right a new-to-me place (but then again, my list of never-tried-places is still pretty long). Super-de-dooper excited to finally get here after copious amounts of fabulous reviews by my DISFriends. You are all cordially invited to come and celebrate with me, and then head over to the late Yeehaw Bob show at POR. Should be a great time of merry-making, silly dancing, sing-alongy, funness that I'd love to get photos of you at so I can post. ;)
Sounds like a great evening!

(... now where's my favorite mechanical pencil to update the Master Plan?)
Um... definitely make this change. :thumbsup2

I NEED to unwind and just relax here a bit

Yes! You do! Take a minute. Breathe.

I held his hand through painful turnings, listened to his story, and cared for him as best I knew how.

You're a good person, Liesa. Must be why I like you.

The worst part about trying to get him unclipped and untangled was his pitiful and horribly frightening screaming as we worked frantically.

Aw, geez. That must've been hard!

But up he went, peed a river, and promptly picked up a leaf to munch.

 Phew!

I've earned my Clinical Instructor's trust I think

Of course you did.
I never had a doubt about it.

Definitely feeling a TON of the pressure off now.

You can do it! I believe in you!
One step at a time, girl!

What better way to celebrate 99 and 19/20ths pages of PTR fun than with a new and exciting, fantabulous, once-in-a-blue-moon, bona fide, ACTUALLY trip-related update!!

Woot!

If they do, it's hasta kiddleywinks; there's a giant golfball with my name written all over it.

I saw that! I wandered by, looked up... stopped... moved closer... squinted...

Huh. Yep. Saw "Liesa" scrawled on it.

(More likely, I'll wake up looking pretty much LIKE Ursula and have to seek coffee and a shower stat.

And hopefully, she'll have stolen my kids' voices and I can have some peace and quiet until I get that coffee.

Oohh... if only that could really happen! Bliss!

Remember I said that getting up in time for today's Rope Drop was a Must-do?

Actually, I do remember.

Well, there is a method to my madness...

Are you sure? I mean, really sure?

Time to slow down, get myself into true vacation mode, and get the camera out and do something I really love to do. Take pictures and pretend I actually have a little talent behind the lens.

Nice. I tried to do that a bit on my solo trip.
It was wonderful.

Yep, I'm headed to AK to get some pictures with as much of the morning light as I can get and while the animals are up and around.

Nice.
I need longer trips to do that, though.

TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!!! The first of maybe 2, depending on a few people's schedules, (as yet to be named (you're in utter suspense right now aren't you? )) GRADUATION CELEBRATION DINNERS! WOOT; PAR-TAY TIME!

When is this date again?
Things may have suddenly changed with me.

and then head over to the late Yeehaw Bob show at POR.

 I first read that (the late Yeehaw Bob show) and thought,
"When did he die?"

Test your cleverness and tell me why I posted each of those. Enjoy!

Night shot of the castle?
Nuggets
Nemo

Doesn't it look FUN!? Seriously, the steampunk theming is SO COOL!! And the elegance of it all. Sure you don't wanna give it a whirl in October next year with some DISFriends??

::yes::
And... possibly.
Just, maybe.
Don't get your hopes up yet, though.

night, nuggets, Nemo

Every trip I keep trying to add in Yeehaw Bob because I read such great review on the DIS about it (we even stayed at POFQ last trip and still didn't make it over). Sounds like a great celebration evening!!! and your morning sounds nice too. I love to take AK slow, and we still only manage a half day there each trip (because we get there early too for the animals), since my kids don't do "big" rides. You can't go wrong with any of those lunch options. Sounds like another fun day.

And hooray for all you have accomplished in school, I don't comment much on it, but like your posts here and online. You are super inspiring!

Replies a'comin'. But not until tomorrow. I picked up an 8 hour shift today after spending all morning studying. Now...

LURKERS! Come out of Lurkdom and say Hello!! I know you're out there. :)

Looks like you had an interesting week, to say the least! That poor goat... I'm glad you were able to get it back on its feet with minimal damage.

Those AK plans look great. I'm really looking forward to a time when we'll just go around the parks at a leisurely pace and just take it in with pictures or whatever, and starting off the morning like you will sounds really nice. We're toying with the idea of doing Christmas next year, so with the insane crowd levels, that would definitely force us to slow down because we'd know there's no way we can do it all anyway.

Yaaay for Graduation Party time! That sounds like a great plan :) I've never heard much about Flying Fish (probably because neither of us eats fish or seafood...) but I always like hearing more about Disney restaurants, so although it's a long way off, I'll look forward to check out your thoughts on it!

That goat story was really crazy, but I'm glad he ended up OK. I can't believe you got goats instead of a mower! We just hire a gardener. :lmao:

Caffeinated up, showered, and re-chippered, we'll probably head over to the Food Court for some food-like stuff. A very great Runner-up idea would be to hit up the food choices the night before and we can eat on the bus.

Either way works. I love having DVC so that I can just order a bunch of yogurt, and stuff so that I can grab it from the fridge and just go.

Anara did mention that she'd like to go to Rafiki's to see if we can catch a surgery or something cool

OK, your family's definition of fun is totally different than my own!

Time to slow down, get myself into true vacation mode, and get the camera out and do something I really love to do. Take pictures and pretend I actually have a little talent behind the lens.

I love taking pictures in the parks!

After we eat, we'll be heading out for some pool time. Probably from around 2-4.

Good time for pool time!

Made the decision a while ago that my Official Celebration Dinner will be at the Flying Fish.

Perfect Choice! One of my favorites!

I'm sure you will do great! And pretty soon Christmas vacation will be here and you can relax. I've been back from the cruise for over a week now. It was great! As you're taking your test, I'll think of you while driving over the Grapevine to visit my folks up in the SF Bay area.

Oh yeah, I got the Night and Nuggets, but had to read everyone else's to get Nemo. I was really stumped. I kept thinking, "does she not know what the are saying and thinks they're German?" "Nein! Nein! Nein! Nein!"

Love your AK plans!! Off to work, but wanted to add my guess quickly!

And the N pictures are:
Night, Nuggets, Nemo

Hey there! :) Yes, exactly right! And I LOVE that Spoiler feature.

Sounds like a stressful time with the goat, but I guess all's well that ends well.

Too true. I'd have been sad to have my lawn mower die.

:woohoo: I know the end is far from near, but that's a very good place to be!

Kinda funny.... we were sitting in a group project session, and when we had answered the question thoroughly, the topic turned to grades. Someone mused, asking, "I wonder how many people actually have a good enough grade to have a cushion and not have to be totally worried right now?" Shasta, another gal in my Study Group and I sorta shrunk a little and winked at each other. Not to bad sitting on the passing side of the of the fence. For now. Not getting too cozy there. And not for one second resting in it. It'll be a push until I have those letters behind my name.

I don't think there's any better park to do that in than AK.

I rather agree. Another good thing about that park is that there are plenty of wide open spaces so I can get people-free photos.

Boy, I would have a very hard time passing up Flame Tree. I think that's my favorite counter-service spot.

I"m a sucker for a good BBQ EVERY time. And I'm also rather fond of their fruit platter.

It was either @glennbo123 or @Flossbolna who said that they have the absolute best steak on property.

Yes, it would have definitely been one of those 2 or Michael. But I'm going for fish. Maybe even lobster for the first time since Millineum Eve (Jan 1, 2000) in Las Vegas. I'm only getting an RN once; may as well celebrate well. ;)

I would so LOVE to be there for this! At the very least we will be there in spirit so you can photoshop us into the pictures.:thumbsup2

And you know I'd LOVE to have you and Julie there with me. You'd be on the honored guests list. :) The invitation stands. I don't even need and RSVP.

I'm glad it wasn't anything worse and that you were able to take care of it!

ME TOO! Having ZERO farm experience, we take one situation at a time. Each one we learn a little more.

Hmmm... Ok, how about pictures of random/obscure objects taken around the parks and then you can assemble them in some kind of order when you return to tell a story.

I LOVE this idea. I do like to write and weaving stuff into a fan-fic story sounds like a super fun project!

I think this is a good place for a "go with your gut." I mean, leave it open for either Harambe markt, Flame Tree or Yak & Yeti CS and then just go with what sounds good at the time!

Loosey-goosey if a good plan sometimes. And this would be a perfect place to add a little spontineity to the mix. I don't think I spelled that right, but how ironic would that be in that sentence. LOL!

Sounds like a great evening!

And to think you can even be there if you'd like. ;)

Um... definitely make this change. :thumbsup2

OK. That was easy. :rotfl2:

Yes! You do! Take a minute. Breathe.

Breathing now. Studied from 9-5:00 and am going to camp with the DIS until beddy-bye time.

You're a good person, Liesa. Must be why I like you.

... mostly. ;)

Aw, geez. That must've been hard!

It was; I'd rather have a lawn mower.

Of course you did.
I never had a doubt about it.

You can do it! I believe in you!
One step at a time, girl!

I hope tomorrow goes just as well, and I don't regret taking the evening off...

I saw that! I wandered by, looked up... stopped... moved closer... squinted...

Huh. Yep. Saw "Liesa" scrawled on it.
[/QUOTE]

I wonder what the repercussions would be if accidentally ya know... really put my name on it.

Actually, I do remember.

Then you're WAY ahead of me. :lmao:

Are you sure? I mean, really sure?

Abosoposilutely!!

Nice. I tried to do that a bit on my solo trip.
It was wonderful.

Isn't it bliss!? No one to bind with fetters, carefree and easy.

Nice.
I need longer trips to do that, though.

Yeah, it really only can be done that way. Sadly, the Hubs doesn't get that. I see trips with my kids or others in my future.

When is this date again?
Things may have suddenly changed with me.

October 10th arrival. October 20th departure. And a lot of Monkey Business in between.

 I first read that (the late Yeehaw Bob show) and thought,
"When did he die?"

Nooooooo..... he must live forever. Or at least until I see his show a bunch more times.

Night shot of the castle?
Nuggets
Nemo

Smarty pants.

::yes::
And... possibly.
Just, maybe.
Don't get your hopes up yet, though.

That's a tall order. I will try. Not to.

... mostly. ;)

And you're hawt... and smart... not necessarily in that order.

Not necessarily not in that order.

I hope tomorrow goes just as well, and I don't regret taking the evening off...

Sometimes you need to re-charge the batteries.

I wonder what the repercussions would be if accidentally ya know... really put my name on it.

On a totally and completely different topic...
Have you seen the Banned for Life thread?

Just curious.

Isn't it bliss!? No one to bind with fetters, carefree and easy.

::yes:: If I wanted to take a half hour to get one shot... that was okay.

Yeah, it really only can be done that way. Sadly, the Hubs doesn't get that. I see trips with my kids or others in my future.

Ingrates!

October 10th arrival. October 20th departure. And a lot of Monkey Business in between.

Got it. Might ask again sometime.
Weird rumblings going on back at the homestead.

Nooooooo..... he must live forever. Or at least until I see his show a bunch more times.

Or ever.. in my case.

night, nuggets, Nemo

That puts you in Disney Expert Catagory! ;)

His show is SO totally worth it! You really need to do this at least once. Make sure to go with your silly on!

It'll all be worth it in end. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Goatie (his real name is Envy from a TV show called Full Metal Alchemist) is doing great, and back to eating all of the ivy, blackberries and other brush that got away from us.

Yeah, I'd say Christmas is a good time to just wander the parks and except for your FP+s, just give up on rides. Slow down, take in the decorations and enjoy the parks for their backstories and all.

I will DEFINITELY be doing a Dining Report on top of the regular TR! So stay tuned!

That goat story was really crazy, but I'm glad he ended up OK. I can't believe you got goats instead of a mower! We just hire a gardener. :lmao:

That, my dear friend, is why I am going to school. :lmao: (And new living room furniture, trips to far away and exotic places, and a new kitchen.... you get the idea.)

Either way works. I love having DVC so that I can just order a bunch of yogurt, and stuff so that I can grab it from the fridge and just go.

I have done GG before, and did like it. Might be an option I

OK, your family's definition of fun is totally different than my own!

It was super cool! Let me see if I can find a photo from last time...

Fascinating!

I'm sure you will do great! And pretty soon Christmas vacation will be here and you can relax. I've been back from the cruise for over a week now. It was great! As you're taking your test, I'll think of you while driving over the Grapevine to visit my folks up in the SF Bay area.

Yes, DO!! I went to Summer Camp every year near Glennville and had to travel the Grapevine. It was always an exciting journey. I'm thinking of visiting cousins in Berkeley over Christmas... I'll think of you as I fly south. :)

Oh yeah, I got the Night and Nuggets, but had to read everyone else's to get Nemo. I was really stumped. I kept thinking, "does she not know what the are saying and thinks they're German?" "Nein! Nein! Nein! Nein!"

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: You know what's even funnier? I actually had to research that, because at first I was getting confused between Nigel in Little Mermaid... who is a PELICAN!, and the seagulls from Nemo. Either way, a bird worked. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Well, it's late here, but at least I figured out Nemo for one of the pictures. And of course, speaking of pictures, my ideal AK animal shot would be of the gorillas along the Pangani Trail. I just wish I could telepathically speak to these great animals - on friendly terms, of course. I hope to spend a lot of time here on our AK day just soaking it in.

I have some pretty decent shots already of the gorillas, but can always use more. ;) They are super awesome to watch! Make sure to take a lot when you're there for us!

Wow. Your AK plans sound amazing. And I love that you'll have time to just wander around and possibly see something really cool. There just never seems to be enough time...I like your idea of prioritizing...to do less and really smell the roses. Great idea.

Official Celebration Dinner will be at the Flying Fish.

This is a fab idea...I'm sure it will be aweome for food and atmosphere!

Woot! Caught back up! I had been slacking on catching up on subs... I may or may not have been just stalking food and wine TRs!!

Those look like corn nuggets!

October 10th arrival. October 20th departure. And a lot of Monkey Business in between.

Hey I like these dates! I'm arriving on the 18th so now we overlap!

That, my dear friend, is why I am going to school. :lmao: (And new living room furniture, trips to far away and exotic places, and a new kitchen.... you get the idea.)

OK, I can understand that. I liked you living room. It looks very nice and homey. And clean. Unlike mine. :rolleyes1

I do ever so love getting instant feedback on Exam Scores! After 2 more long weeks of grueling hours of studying, I was pretty much gleeful when, as I pushed the submit button, I saw a 45/50- a 90%!!!!!! That is the first A (only barely, but heck YEAH, I'll take that!) I've gotten all term! WOOT!

The Girlies and I went out promptly to celebrate with breakfast and Bloody Marys, then I took the day "off" by DISing (if I haven't gotten to your thread, I WILL!) doing the laundry, dishes, getting the goats out, building and enjoying my first woodstove fire this year, and grocery shopping. My family will be thrilled that ketchup will not be the main dish again tonight.

2 more cylces of this, 1 paper, 4 Clincal days and 1 Final to go. Thank you all very dearly for your encouraging words and hanging in there with me!
