The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Um, is your name misspelled on your nametag?

Le sigh. No.

Here is the long version of that story. The older I get, the more confused I get as to whether I should be proud of the fact that it goes this way.

In my Jr. High days I wanted to stretch my ways of going "creative" and started being silly with unique ways to spell my name. I kinda started using it, and to my mother's horror and ongoing grief, it stuck. It is used now everywhere... on all of my paperwork including banking, HOWEVER, I never changed it legally. Hence, it can't be used for my legal Nursing license, school, or my driver's license. I really do prefer "Liesa", my one of probably too many displays of rebellion and independence, but am both too lazy and too sensitive to my family to change it.

Maybe someday... but not now. So, that answer is both yes, and no.

That's really beautiful paper.

Thanks! It'll be interesting to see if in a couple of months we go with Safari-themed or Boardwalky-themed to finish it off.

TRah! Rah!

Your lack of enthusiasm is disturbing.

TNo? We have two!
Elle and Kay are their names.

OH, well, if you go there... Robot #1 is fixing our riding mower with the DadDude, and Robot #2 is trimming goat hooves and about to do dishes and make dinner.

TWine list needs some work.

You did know that you CAN actually have your physician write you prescription for wine or hard liquor with meals, right? I pour all the time for a couple of residents.

TWhat he said!

See what I said. ;)

:tilt:

Interesting! Believe it or not, I get it.

I know... always trying to stand out and be different. I suppose there are worse ways to become infamous. LOL! BTW, you haven't started any TRs or anything, right?! Always afraid I'll be late to the party and never able to really catch up. Shoot me a bat signal when it's launched, eh?

No, I'm trying to get at least a couple of chapters written so that I can stay ahead of the game. For a little while at least.

Okay. I think I got it Leessa.

"Boardwalky"?????

:faint:

Wait. Are we talking retirement home or hospital here?

See what I said.

I saw what you said.
See what I commented.

Naturally, I went with an array of bright and pretty colors because most of our stay will be at Art of Animation

Love that paper! It's perfect for AoA!

Your badge picture is really nice! For some reason "official" pictures of me always make me look like a total goober

Congrats on starting your second year of nursing school! You are halfway done!

BTW, did you see Miss Colorado's monologue from last night's Miss America Pageant? She's a nurse and did a monologue on nursing. I dare you not to cry.

That was really well done. Thanks for sharing that.

After spending $625 bucks today on food for the next 3 months of dinners, and getting the first 4 meals (out of the 60 planned) done up in baggies, I'm taking care of me by getting my Start-of-School pedi. All that to say.....

Replies later. :)

Those papers are so cute! I don't typically get that creative, the last three trips I used little Disney notebooks and called it good in terms of decoration based on the fact that Cinderella or Aurora is on the cover. But definitely good call with the colorful to go along with the Art of Animation - it definitely it a very brightly colored resort! So pretty.

Sending some pixie dust your way for the flights! Those are always tricky for us as well, Canadian airfare can get wildly ridiculous. Travel discounts definitely come in handy for us so luckily enough we've never had to pay more than 400$ per person, so that's always right about what I aim for too.

I'm a little confused about your FP+ dates - I thought your trip was October? FP+ window is 60 days out, wouldn't that put you in August for your FP+ selection?? Unless I missed an update, in which case I do apologize and will hide in a corner of shame :sad2:

Also, you should actually be able to make all your FastPasses once you hit 60 days before your first check in date :) This November we're staying the first two nights at All-Star Music, then we're switching over to the Sports, and I thought we would only be able to get for our first two nights as a starter and then wait an extra two days to get the rest of our selection, but as it turned out, the very first night I was able to get FastPasses for the whole duration of our trip. Of course, that only applies for people who are staying for the whole trip, but then when you get to the second stay 60 days out, you can just go back in and copy your selection to them.

Enjoy (er.... I guess by now I should say Hope you enjoyed) your pedi!

I think I will pass on that request ;) there is enough of my gooberness showing already!

Thanks, Mr. Ruby!

"Boardwalky"?????

Rhymes with Jabberwalky.

Wait. Are we talking retirement home or hospital here?

Both. In fact, in my last Clinical at the hospital, a guy's wife came in with some pot candy. He had a medical marijuana card, so the doctor had to write in his care plan stuff.... The discussion in the staff lounge, which involved the doc, a doctor colleague of his, and several nurses (and me) was hilarious. So yeah, all of that goes.

I saw what you said.

Thanks!

And thanks! Trust me, my driver's license is plenty gooberish enough. And NO, I'mma not post a picture of it.

Hey Jill!

Thanks! I certainly am, and if I didn't know what was coming, I'd be more excited. I didn't see it, but thanks for the link; it was fantastic! Really, really well done! :D

I loved making the books as well as using them! When I get into the parks I forget what things I wanted to make sure I see and do, and having all of my numbers in one place is great! Especially, when my phone starts to die.

I'm not sure I can even book my flights for another few months, but will certainly be watching. IT's a delicate timing balance between booking far enough out to get a good deal and what I want, but waiting long enough for specials to start popping up.

I think you're right! I was going off what my TA was saying, but I looked in several places and I think August is my FP+ date, not September. OH BOY! I only have a year to get my carp together on this trip. ;) LOL! But that's ok, I will be plenty busy for sure.

Enjoy (er.... I guess by now I should say Hope you enjoyed) your pedi!

Oh boy, did I ever! EXTRA long massage which I sure needed after being on my feet all day. ANd I'll be at it again all day- yesterday I got all the shopping done, AND cranked out 17/60 meals I have planned. I'm starting today off by going back to the store for about 10 items I though I had on hand, but don't, or forgot. Which is ok, because now I can get a latte.

Have you looked at getting the SW credit card? They are offering 50K points as a sign on bonus and there is a way to get a companion pass too. Might be able to get free or almost free airfare.

Congrats on starting back to school, it will be over before you know it!

I think that you will love whichever resort you end up whether it is Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Ok, here the skinny on the Wilderness Lodge for me. I live in the PNW; we can go to any number of amazing and hugely beautiful lodges a lot like that any day of the year we'd like and do about once a year. Not always to stay in, but you know, Pendelton blankies, log trusses, and chainsaw carvings are pretty standard here. When I go on vacation, I really want to stay somewhere unique to me that I'd never get to stay in unless I'm at WDW or actually GO to that place/area. So WL just doesn't appeal to me at all.

I get it. Personally, I love the WL theme because it feels exotic to me. Same with AKL. Whereas Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk hold no appeal whatsoever because I live on the Atlantic coast. So I hear ya, for sure.

It's really weird Liesa, for some really weird reason, I can't find ANY standard rooms at AKL AT ALL for the week you're going. I've called Disney and even they can't tell me why! There is NO WAY that the ENTIRE resort is sold out except for Suites, but there are just no rooms coming up. I'm baffled. (So am I, Brook! So. Am. I!)

Wow. I have no words! Maybe the Pope is visiting that same week.

Also took care of a new ticker today. Now we have an accurate countdown to what's shaping up to be a fabulous trip!

It's always a good feeling to post the ticker!
