Day 5 - Sunday, October 24, 2004 - "Will It Go 'Round In Circles?"

This morning we got up and began the slow, sad process of packing up to go home. After a final check, we took our bags down to the lobby, checked out and packed up the car. I volunteered to drive because Larry drove all the way down - that's what I get for trying to be nice. My sense of direction is really bad, so Larry is always the navigator. When we got on I-4, we started out heading east to pick up the Florida Turnpike. Somehow Larry got turned around and decided that we were headed the wrong way, so he directed me to turn around and head west - which I dutifully did. We went several miles in that direction before he realized, no, this isn't right, either. I think we have to turn around again. So, I turn around again and start heading east again. As we are driving along, he is mumbling under his breath about how this doesn't look right, either. I informed him that I wasn't turning around again no matter what he said - so there! As it turned out, east is the correct way and hopefully now we will always remember that. Everybody sing: "Will it go 'round in circles, will it fly high like a bird up in the sky?" I think he was just really Disney deprived already, because he is usually right on the money with this direction thing. Very strange, but a funny memory already!

Seven hours later, we were back in Atlanta picking up the dogs from the kennel and settling back into our routine.

So there's our trip - the good, the bad and the funny. Hope you folks enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Hopefully our Disney batteries are charged up well enough to last until our next trip in January - that will be a big one with extended family, 8 of us altogether.

Thanks for the great trip reports, Susan! My DH and I leave in 11 days and among other things I am looking forward to the Food and Wine Festival and was glad for the food tips!!!

Great trip report Susan. Having blisters at Disney is horrible. That happened to me during one of our past trips. It's agony trying to walk around with feet full of blisters.
