The 8,000 Point Club

That 8000 points at CCV will set you back a NOT cool $1,800,000 with $59,440 dues for the year. That will get you in a 2 BR for about 24 weeks a year, split between Magic and Dream seasons...What a deal...
Is that resale or direct? Lol

Most pay their HUGE annual dues via credit cards and get reward points (i.e. AmX or Chase) and $48,000 per year really adds up (especially at 3x Chase Sapphire Reserve).
Hold on a second! I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve and I was unaware that you can put your membership dues on a credit card! At least 18 years ago when I became a member you were not allowed to do that. If that is changed OMG I need to switch this like yesterday!

Wow, just wow. I wish I would have know this a long time ago. When I bought annual dues had to taken out of a checking or saving. Or paid in cash monthly or annually.

So I just went onto the website and for auto payment it requires a US bank account. Do you have it automatically charged to your credit card every month or do you pay it in full on your credit card?

I pay my annual dues in full with a credit card around February 10 to February 14 as that is the last day to pay. I simply log into the online member site and click on one of the menu options to pay annual dues and enter my credit card info. The only bummer is that I have to do that for every contract I own as it does not save my credit card info for different DVC contracts. I understand some people pay annual dues spread out every month, and at a shocking 0% interest, but I prefer to simply pay in full and be done with it. The good news, it that I get tons of Chase Reward points for this and then pay my credit card balance in full when that due date comes up (usually end of March)

In order to pay with a credit card you have to pay the full annual dues. Monthly is only out of a bank account.

That’s where the disconnect was. I was under the impression that you could pay monthly on a credit card. It says the last day to pay membership dues is January 15. I’m assuming there is a grace period. I guess I could technically cancel my automatic payment right now and pay the remainder on a CC.

All right well that’s exactly what I did. I was able to pay both contracts together (it did not make me pay them separately) and it’s saved my CC info for future payments.

Enjoy the 3x CR points!!!!

Just a suggestion: Buy the Disney gift cards on a Chase card, like the Freedom, which gets 1.5x rewards at 8% off when they run the sale at one of the many places where they discount Disney GCs. Then, use those GCs to pay your dues. 8% is better than 3% or 3x rewards plus you get the extra 1.5% in rewards for a total of 9.5% cash back (8% discount plus 1.5x rewards or 1.5% cash back).

That is an even better idea....can you buy them in $10,000 increments as it would take a long time to enter each $500 card for people with 8,000 points

You can combine them online onto a single card, with a maximum of 1,000 on each card. What @TexasChick123 recommended is exactly what I do with all my spending at Disney. I find BJ's Wholesale, they have a cheap $10 online membership, to be the cheapest when they run promotions, sometimes at 10% off if you get the bulk email promotion, which usually happens a couple times a year. Then I stack with a 2% reward credit card, though some of the revolving category ones, Discover for example, can sometimes be 5% back.

I have found BJ’s to be the best as well. They sell GCs in $500 increments which is much larger than any others I’ve found. You can combine 2x $500 GCs online to make it a $1000 GC. Also, if you have a cc that allows for 5% for certain categories, pay attention to the max spending benefit which is usually $1500. As in, I think you get 5% back on purchases totaling up to $1500 not $1500 total in the cash back. Then, it drops back to 1% usually. I like the Chase Freedom because I can connect it to my ultimate rewards through my Chase sapphire. We have only paid for one flight in the last 2.5 years by playing the cc rewards games, and it was because the flight was cheaper in cash than miles. It was a very unique circumstance.

Good info! I'll start doing that!

Ok ok. Where are you getting 8%?!?
