The $500 Debate: Coronado Springs or SSR?

SSR is considerably larger than CSR. If you don't have a preferred room in Congress Park, you may not be in quick walking distance to Disney Springs and you could be far from the dining options at SSR as well. However, I believe SSR does run an internal bus if that were the case. We are also two adults, no kids, and we visited Disney Springs four times during our 7 day stay back in October - normally we'd only visit once or twice. We used Uber from CBR, but we even remarked on how it would have been nice to stay at SSR to be able to walk there easily.

We love CSR but in the current environment with limited operations and limited bus capacity, I'd be hesitant to stay there. Have you considered CBR? Being on the Skyliner for two of the four parks and only having to deal with the buses a few times was a huge perk with the way things currently are.

No experience with SSR but DW and I have stayed at CSR multiple times, the most recent being last March right before the shutdown.

I wouldn't call the non-tower part of CSR rundown, at least in my experience. We have always stayed in the Casitas section and found it very enjoyable. I won't say that it feels brand new or super luxurious, but you've already been so you have an idea of what to expect. In our last stay we found it just as nice as before. I will say that the tower does make the older sections feel a little diminished but the actual experience was what we've come to expect from that resort.

That said, the next time we stay at CSR we do intend to spring for a tower room just because it was really nice in there and since that is where you check in now you can't avoid seeing what a difference it is.

depends on when in June. My DD's dance team (small group) is staying at CSR in late June, most likely with other Dance the World teams. If you are looking the last week of June, I would go with SSR - not that you couldn't avoid a bunch of dancers, but...

Hello wonderful disboarders! The ladylove and I have booked a welcome-back-to-the-world-we're-vaccindated-hooray trip for five days in June. Here's the debate: looking at prices, we're torn between staying at Coronado Springs (non-tower room) and Saratoga Springs Resort. The price difference is about $500 total.

The debate: We stayed at Coronado for our Disneymoon in 2019. We loved it! BUT we also love staying at new resorts (and are trying to stay at all of them eventually). We have never stayed at SSR. We like that SSR is walking distance to Disney Springs because we're usually rope drop to fireworks people and will likely wander over there in the evenings if the parks are still doing limited hours. We're okay with the layout of either room: we're two adults, no kids. So the question is this: is SSR and being at a deluxe worth the extra $500 for what might be a more resort-centric trip? Or should we save the $500 for souvenirs and dining and enjoy Coronado again? I read a few reviews that the non-tower part of Coronado is a bit more rundown, is that true people that have stayed there in the past two years?

Thanks in advance for any support/advice you can give!
If this is a more resort-centric/DS trip, I would go for SSR.

We’ve stayed in different sections of SSR and never found the walk to DS too long - it may be different for older people or families with young kids. We loved being able to walk to DS in the evening for a drink and to watch the entertainment, but I don’t know when the entertainers will be back again.

This is a hard one for me!

I've stayed at both in the past six months. The SSR refurb is simply gorgeous. I'm with some others that say to try and rent point here. Likely similar in price to CS if you rent DVC. If you do preferred it is a quick walk to DS and a gorgeous view from your balcony. I like that the quiet pools here have a hot tub.

I have stayed in ranchos and casitas in the past six months, too. I really liked their rooms and they did not feel worn or tired to me.

The grounds are similar to me. We wanted to rent DVC for SS for this May, but I could not find the days I needed. We boked at Coronado instead with a hotwire deal.
