The 40 Year Old Virgin Movie made me think....

None of my friends were virgins by the time we all got out of high school...I personally don't know anyone that is a virgin that is over the age of 18...

A guy I worked was was (most likely still is ) a 37 year old virgin by choice. He had never met a woman he cared enough about to share himself with. I fully understand his decision.

My boyfriend was until he met me. I corrupted him fully.

Okay, I'm not going along with the point of this thread, but I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that I'm kind of tired of seeing how sad everyone is for those of us who prefer not to be married. I don't ask for anybody to be sad for me. How anyone else lives is not your business. Save the sadness for those who have real problems.

Personally, I do find it rather sad that someone is 40 and a virgin when using Laurajetter's example. If you are 40 and are still waiting for the "right person" in order to marry him/her, then that means you haven't met the right person. I feel sad for those folks that haven't found the one person they can fall in love with. IMHO, there is an underlying loneliness.

I totally agree. I would feel sad for an older virgin--not necessarily because they were missing out on sex, but because they were missing out on one of life's greatest pleasures--an intimate romantic relationship.

That being said, I think 21 was the oldest virgin I ever knew. It's not like it's really discussed after a certain age. I would be pretty shocked if someone told me today that they were a virgin and I would definitely file it under TMI!
