The 3rd Baltic - July 6 - 18... a trip report group effort

Sometime during the night, the “Till We Meet Again 2010” Mickey sunset magnet I made was "permanently borrowed" but my Donald “I Don’t Wanna Leave” magnet was still on our door. Our shipboard charges came to $1,704.19 (all excursions, Palo, souvenirs, etc.), but thanks to our onboard credits, Disney VISA Reward Dollars, and Disney Gift Card gifts, we actually only owed $265.24! :woohoo:

We really, really, really hated walking out of our cabin for the last time this morning. Since our flight out of Heathrow was at noon (and DCL did not recommend anything earlier than 2pm), we were instructed to meet (with all luggage) in Rockin’ Bar D at 6am for early debarkation. Topsiders opened at 5:30am for us early debarkers, but it was way too early for us to even think about eating, so we headed straight to RBD where they had some Danish and fruit set out, which was perfect. The ship was still moving when we arrived in RBD, but soon we were all led to the atrium where we waited until 6:40am to debark. A woman was trying to make everyone use the elevator when we finally received permission to use the stairs, and consequently were the second people out of customs, at 6:45am! Thankfully, driver was already there waiting for us and we made it to Heathrow in just an hour and a half. We easily navigated through the airport, United Business counter, Fast Track security screening line, and were sitting in the Red Carpet Lounge by 9:30am, in plenty of time for our flight! In hindsight I wouldn't recommend such an early flight and probably won't risk it again. If the ship had been delayed due to tides or any other issue, or if we had car trouble on the fairly long drive or ran into rush hour traffic, we probably would not have made it to the airport on time. Our advantages were that it was a Sunday morning, we weren't traveling with small children, didn't need to check any bags (we always travel with just carry-on luggage) and were able to take advantage of short airport lines due to booking business class seats.

On a funny note, DH says he came home with an extra souvenir, some love [the cruise food] handles! :rotfl2: For the first time ever, he could “pinch more than an inch”. That is a testament to how good the food was on this trip! ;)
