They have added hard boiled egg slices to the breakfast items in the CL lounge.

DH and DD (12) will be so happy - they love hard boiled eggs!

See there's always something new or something you can learn on this thread.

I had no idea that all of the rooms didn't have a chest of drawers since all our rooms at BC and YC always had a chest of drawers.

Teena - do you know if all the BC Deluxe CL rooms have chests of drawers? I can't stand to live out of a suitcase so I would ship some kind of "temporary" drawer thing down if there's a chance our room wouldn't have the drawers.

Can't wait to try the new BC CL lounge - it looks so nice!

I am cheating a bit but in one way I have made it to the single digits. I only have to come to work 8 more times :thumbsup2

12 days until we arrive. Fingers crossed it warms up within the next 3 weeks at least...

Can anyone tell me if there is ANYWHERE at BC (or BWI) where we can buy some wheat sandwich bread OR english muffins? We are staying CL, but one of our sons eats toast with jam EVERY morning for breakfast. He's a bit difficult as far as eating is concerned. ;) I know there is a toaster in the CL, but wondering if I can buy a loaf of bread or a pack of english muffins upon arrival for DS, maybe at the BC Marketplace (where they have "groceries" for the DVC...)

We do NOT need a grocery order, so please don't suggest that! If I can't get it at the resort, I'll pack some in our luggage.

I would imagine that you could get some at the Marketplace or somewhere near there. We stayed at CR last year, and there was a store there that had simple food like bread, sandwich fixings, and frozen meals because the BLT is there. Because BC has villas, there has to be a place that has those things there.

If you are staying concierge, you can ask them to stock the type of bread while you're there. If they can get it, they'll have it for you.

I can't wait to try the hard boiled eggs what a great breakfast addition!!

We loved the single hard boiled eggs in YC lounge. Lovely presentation as each is sliced very thinly with a sprig of green and served on a tiny plate. Very elegant.

I LOVE warm croissants. Do they sell just plain croissants at the BC Marketplace, and is there a microwave I could heat it in?

There is a microwave. I don't remember if there are plain croissants in the case but will check for you next week. Since they use plain croissants to make the egg sandwiches, I imagine there are or that at least they would be willing to sell you one.:goodvibes

Oh thank you, THANK YOU for checking for me! If they aren't out, would you mind asking if they are for sale...or better yet...available for a snack credit? I would appreciate this SO much!:lovestruc

Have a WONDERFUL trip!:yay:

Thanks for the good wishes...can't wait.:cool1:

Anyone know if styrofoam WDW cups with lids are still stocked in the rooms at BC? --just wondering! Pls let me know if you're been in a room there lately.

Thanks!

Okay, remember, this is just my opinion on advantages/disadvantages of the on-line check-in. If you do it, you still have to wait in a line and check-in. The paperwork and keys should already be printed and waiting for you. Thus, if it worked the way it was designed to work, you'd walk up, hand them your ID and credit card, sign the registration statement, they would hand you your packet with your keys and off you'd go. Then the next on-line check-in guest would go up to the designated on-line check-in CM and the same thing would happen. Also, the other CMs at the regular check-in stations are suppose to draw from the on-line check-in line before the regular line. Then the CM walks over to the on-line's CM's station and picks up your papers and keys. Does it work like this? No! Why? Because people get up there and ask the normal 25 questions, ask about where their room is, want to change their room, etc. So, that line sometimes ends up no different than the regular check-in line. Would I do it? No, because I personally think if you want to ask questions or discuss your room, then you shouldn't do it. Again, this is my opinion. Does it save time? Only if you walk up and hand them your credit card and ID, sign and walk away. We try really hard to keep the lines at a minimum. When a magical express bus drops off a load of people, it might take a while to get everybody checked in but we go into overdrive and move them through as fast as we can! If you want to ask questions about the location of your room, etc. and therefore, maybe ask to be moved, I'd recommend not doing an on-line check-in.

Thank you very much for your opinion!!
I can see how it doesn't work the way its suppose to. I agree with your suggestions and will wait to check in when we arrive. We have never had a real problem at check-in.

THANK YOU!

I've already asked enough of the Concierge IPO staff. ;) They have been extremely helpful for us in getting some other food items that they don't normally have in the lounge for our other son with Autism.

We will see how our son does with the lounge breakfast offerings. I will buy a pack of english muffins or bread IF needed. I just wanted to know it would be an option, and would rather not pack that in a suitcase. I know they have jelly/jam in the lounge, but for whatever reason, neither of our kids will eat bagels or croissants, just english muffins or toast.

If you have the time could you check for me if the "to go" items in the refrigerated case are considered snack credits? ie. cut-up fruit, salads, etc. TIA Joyce

Normally yes it is busy in August, especially with free dining. With this economy, who knows though?

As far as your room, you booked a standard view. That means you are going to get a view of a parking lot, a roof, a tree, another building (Villas), or if you get extremely lucky a courtyard. If you want a guaranteed decent/nice view, you need to change your reservation to a water view. As HockeyMom said, you need to prioritize your requests. The chance of you getting all of your requests is not good ... think about it, everybody that books a standard view wants a nice view (and there aren't many of those) and everybody wants a full balcony (and only about half the rooms have them). So, what's the most important thing? If it's location close to the lobby (and thus close to SAB), then make your first request "close to lobby please". If the most important thing to you is to have a full balcony, then make your first request "full balcony please". If you request something like "full balcony, high floor, close to lobby", this is three requests in one and the room assignor will try to meet one of your requests but they won't know what is the most important thing to you. If it's not crowded then, you might get lucky and get all your requests met ... but if we are full, chances are it's just not going to happen. So make three requests, and put them in the order of what you really want the most. As far as what floor, if you have a standard view, I'd request the second floor since you have a good chance of not getting a roof view and a good chance of getting a full balcony. Even in the water view rooms, my personal favorite rooms are on the second floor.

Hi Teena,

Thanks for all your wonderful responses, I realy enjoy reading them on this board!

In regards to the "request", I only have one for our family (DW and DS12) which is a "full balcony". Should I still list a secondary request, or am I better off with just the one request and hoping they can fufill it?

Thanks!

You're very welcome. You can request as much as you want. If full balcony is really the only one that is really important to you, I'd probably just stick with that.

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe I'm posting in this thread...we went to DW last year for the first time with LMT's $1 promo and stayed at CSR, and we added a second week FD at ASM. We were upgraded to SSR. I did a ton of research, and I fell in love with the beach club, especially SAB!! The only thing was that it was sooooo expensive. Normally, we can't afford a huge amount of money, but we've been saving to go back to the world. We were going to stay at coronado again, but today I got the all year pin for 45% off villas and I booked beach club villas for only $500 more.

This thread is the expert on all things BC, I was wondering if there was anything specific I should know about the villas? How far are they from epcot? Is there a specific room I should request?

Thanks!

****apparently, it's just 40% off*****
soooo....

Beach Club Villas vs. Beach Club Standard Room?

I got the pin and booked BVC because the nice CM told me it was 45% off. When I double checked, it was only 40%, making it the exact same price as the regular beach club. Which resort is better??

The things I care about are:
-being close to Epcot.
-Access to storm along bay
-comfortable rooms
-fridge in room

There are only two of us in the room, so size of the room/#of beds isn't really an issue.

We've stayed at CSR and SSR before, and we preferred CSR because the saratoga room seemed like a semi-normal hotel room. Coronado was very luxurious, and beautifully decorated.

I really appreciate the help!
