Hi Teena Happy New Year and so sorry to hear about those wicked cold temperatures down there. I have two girlfriends that have been down there since New Years Eve staying at CSR and they are so bummed that they are not able to use the pool because of the temps:sad2:, but they are still having a great time regardless. Anyway, my question to you (or anyone else that will want to jump in here) is that we are thinking of flying Southwest for the first time and wanted to know if the front desk at the BC would print our boarding passes for us 24 hours before our flight? We will have a lap top with us so we can check in online, but we can't print our passes. TIA;)

Anybody at the Concierge Desk will be happy to print out your tickets or any of the guest relations at any of the parks will also do it for you. And remember, there is free internet access in the lobby and at SAB. I always check in on line but never print my boarding passes because when I get to the airport, I have to stand in line to check my bags, so I just hit "reprint boarding passes and check bags" on the machine there at the airport. That way I have the nice little boarding passes and not the whole big sheet of paper.

SAB is closed today. Dunes Cove pool is, too. Brrr!:scared1:

I wonder if all pools on property are closed today. The governor declared an emergency due to the cold. Hope the weather eases for the sake of all the farmers.

Stay warm dear friend!!! And I'm so worried about all the citrus! At least it's sunny here ... my friend in PA said they haven't seen the "bright thing in the sky" for ages.

Dear Teena, thank you so much for all the great information, we're so excited! We'll be there Mon around 1:00 hope to meet you. It's so nice of you to keep this thread updated even though I'm sure you're always busy. We're hopefully bringing warmer weather to you. Accuweather outlook for Mon is high 50's - high 60's for rest of week during the day, mid 40's - 50's at night. Keeping my fingers crossed we'll be able to use pool, it's our first time at the BCV as DVC members.

Are there really good water view first floor rooms at BC or should I request a higher floor for the best view? View is important but I was thinking a first floor might give a little more living space for my 3 yr old.

Any particular floors you've liked?

edited to add BC!

You are very welcome!

I'm not working this Sunday and Monday. I'm heading out to visit my daughter and do Disney VoluntEAR work at her school. I'll be back in the lobby on the 17th and 18th.

I hope you have a super time and hopefully you will bring that warmer weather with you!

Lots of people like the patios versus the balconies, especially since you could get a standing balcony instead of a full balcony.

Hi Teena- I've been reading your replies as I've been going through this thread. Thank you so much for helping.

1. Are the patio views as nice (in your opinion) as the 2nd floor?
2. Do you have any suggestions as a good request for a patio rm/water view?

1. Depends on the room.
2. My favorite three rooms are 2641, 2643 and 2645 but remember, everybody likes something different.

Thanks, Teena.:goodvibes I am...lots of layers does it for me.

An update....Dune Coves is open now. Don't know about SAB.

Have safe travels, Teena.

Teena - You seem to be very helpful to everyone and I am hoping you can help me.

We are coming in March and it will be the first Beach Club stay for my wife and our 3 daughters. My last stay there was 1994, so it will be almost new to me again too! It will also be the first WDW trip for our youngest (6 months) and the first trip that our middle daughter (almost 3) will have (she was there at WDW at 6 months as well).

We are booked into a standard room, but we have 3 adults and 3 kids (7, 2, and infant). Would reservations automatically recognize this and get us a room with a daybed or do I need to call up reservations and request it.

Also if you have any room number suggestions that would fit us that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

JR

They will probably have you down on your reservation as 3 adults and 1 child and 2 infants with those ages. They should automatically give you a room with a daybed but it doesn't hurt to put it on your reservation as a request. Since you booked a standard view room and are overloaded with people, I would highly suggest requesting 1606, 2606, 3606 or 3606. The view is okay but the main thing is that those four rooms are oversized. Please remember, requests are only requests. There is no guarantee you are going to get what you request. However, if one of those rooms are open when you check-in, our room assignors try really hard to meet your requests. Just make sure those rooms are listed on your reservation!

Also, when you check-in, don't do an on-line check-in. Then when you get to the front desk and do a regular check-in, you can ask if you got a daybed and if you got one of the rooms you requested. If you didn't get one of those four rooms (because they are occupied), then at least you can have the front desk person verify you have a daybed. If you don't have a daybed, just nicely tell them you NEED one and to please change your room.

Got a pin yesterday and just upgraded today from POR to 13 nights at BC!!:cool1: Woo hoo! We are so excited! We booked a standard room (didn't want to cut down on our days) and I'm hoping for a decent view. I'm not expecting to be looking at the lagoon or anything, but I really hope we don't get a view of the roof. Does anyone know if there a many "decent" rooms in standard view?

Hi, Teena!

Great news! Although we had to cancel last December, today booked December 2010 at the wonderful Beach Club! Hope we get to meet this visit. Thanks so much for all your help.

Fantastic!!!! Now you should go on line to Disney's website and see if there are any Give A Day, Get a Disney Day volunteer opportunities for you and the family between now and your trip near your home town. You could get passes or fast passes for when you are here! I searched and found lots of them near me and also for my daughter out in Nevada. She's taking lots of her friends along and then they are going to Disneyland for a day with the passes.

Oh, yes, did that already! Will be spending time with some senior citizens in a few weeks and hope to continue once a week. ::yes::

Have a wonderful time with your daughter...Godspeed! :goodvibes

Thank you again, Ms. Teena. Is it acceptable to request one of these rooms by number or is that frowned upon? I ask this knowing that it would only be a request and not a guarantee.
