Yes there are a FEW rooms (and they are trying to get rid of them) that have two full size or double beds, not queen beds, in them. And half the cast members at the BC don't know it either so don't feel bad about Reservations not knowing. The only way some of our CMs would know about it is if they happened to put someone in one of those rooms and checked the description of the room when they pulled up that room number. If any of you get a room with doubles in it instead of queens, just go back to the front desk and tell them you want a new room. Unless we are totally full, they will change your room. If we are totally full and they can't get you into a room with queens the first night, tell them you want a room change the next night. Some people don't care, especially if it's two people, like a mother and daughter, etc. Wouldn't bother me in that case - Jeanne and I sleep in little single beds on the Disney cruise.

Now, to answer the question of if you were at the YC or the BC and wanted to change to the other because you just didn't like the feel of the one you booked, for sure we will try to change you over to the other if there is availability. We want all happy guests and we will do our best to make your vacation super. If you have a split stay and stay with us first and then are moving to another resort and the kids refuse to leave (because of SAB of course), tell me or one of the managers in the lobby that you are scheduled to change to another resort and your family wants to stay put. We will do our best to try to make it happen. Again, if we have the room, we'll do it. If we don't have availability, then obviously we can't do it.

Does anyone know what movies will be played at the Beach Club for the month of August?
Thanks :thumbsup2

Starting on the 18th the Hannah Montana movie will be playing Fridays....

I talked to one of the Market Place managers today regarding the Beaches & Cream breakfast and apparently it is going to end this week. She said they have had lots of positive comments but quite a few negative ones too, mainly from vacation club members that don't want to walk to B&C to get the stuff they had previously purchased in the Market Place. So, we have no idea of whether it is going to return or not. The minute I hear anything definitely, I'll be sure to let everyone know.

We ate at Beaches & Cream breakfast on our first morning while waiting for our room to be ready. We got two kids platter and a muffin. I'm trying to remember but I think one of the kids platters was eggs and one was pancakes. (No Mickey waffles or pancakes!!)

Later in the week while waiting for the boat launch to MGM I was approached to take a survey about food at the BC. I said I would do it. He asked me lots of questions but mainly about the breakfast at Beaches and Cream. The survey was about 10-15 minutes long!!

I'm sure they were trying to figure out how the new breakfast was doing.

I told him we liked it well enough. Except the girls said the eggs were gross. I think they may have been powdered scrambled eggs and I don't think the girls have ever had those before. Also the selection was limited. But it was better than nothing!

It was nice to meet Teena!! Hi :flower3: !

About the movie night, will that Hannah Montana movie be on Fridays for a few weeks? I am so excited since we will be staying there for only 2 days as part of a split stay and one of the days is a Friday. My girls will freak!!!!

I think you're right about the surveys. It was nice meeting you too!!!

Hi TeenaS, I have a BCV question for you.
We (DH, adult DS and DS GF) are arriving on 10/17 for our first trip Home as owners. We have stayed at BCV in the past on cash through CRO and we love it so much we purchased DVC. We have a 2 bedroom Villa booked. We land at MCO about 10:15 AM and will be using ME. I do not expect our Villa to be ready that early in the day, but it would be nice. We will check our carryons with Bell Services and head over to WS for lunch.
My question is concerning On Line Check in. I think I read a quote where you mentioned that using online checkin did not seem to matter at BCV due to the high overall occupancy of the Villas. Is that the case?
We are doing DDP so I need to pay for that at checkin. I have tickets from Undercover Tourist that I would like to have coded on our KTTW cards. Also, although I understand a request is just a request, we did make a request for a higher floor, canal view. I have read mixed reviews about Online Checkin. I have seen where there is no where to reinforce room requests, but I have also seen a perception that when Disney knows the time you are arriving, you may be assigned a "Room Ready" early. Since I want to manipulate our KTTW cards anyway, and want to maximize our requests potential what do you recommend?
TIA

Hello Everyone

We are headed to YC in October. We have stayed at BC before; always standard rooms and very happy with them. This time we are treating ourselves to club level. It will be our first stay at YC along with cl; so I have a few questions. Is it ok to grab your snack/drink from the lounge and take it back to the room to eat? We will be with our then 20 month old and Im thinking that everyone would appreciate that more! hee hee

Also what type of foods/beverages are offered? I know there is a continental style breakfast, but what about mid-day and evening? Also what are the other benefits (if any) of club level? oooh yes - hubby wants to know if there is beer and wine?

Any info is greatly appreciated....

Hi Teena! The information you have provided on this thread has been invaluable. Thanks so much! My family and I will be at the BC October 17-20 this year, so hopefully we'll get to meet you! I think I missed the answer to my question if it was answered, but I was wondering if you knew of any plans to bring Chip and Dale back to Cape May? Was really hoping they would be there for breakfast. And also, when we booked our room they told us it would have 2 queen beds, but would not guarantee a roll-away. What are are chances of getting one when we check in? Thanks!!!!!!!

Can someone tell me about the daybeds and/or the twin sleepers? The only other deluxe we stayed at is the WL and I do not remember any daybeds. Do they fold out to sleep 2 or is it only one? Should I request a room with the daybed and twin sleeper, with only one queen, or am I better off with the two queens and the daybed?

Really, it probably won't make any difference, as my DS11 (autistic) and DD7 love to sleep in the same bed, we have to restrict their "sleepovers" to weekends only! Just curious for future reference.

I'd have a massage!
Hi Teena~ Have you had a massage at GF, SSR, and Dolphin (or Swan, whichever has it)? Which is the best and why? I think SSR is the only one that gives a DVC discount....but we'd like to try the best!
Will you be there anytime from the 14th to the 21st? Where will you be (I'd like to say hi)?
Thanks~ Gina
(BTW....hope you're feeling better!)

I believe most all WDW spas offer a DVC discount actually, although it may not apply to all services...I think both SSR and GF give 10% though.

Would love to know the answers to these Qs too!! Thanks.

Didn't realize that!! Have you tried either/both of these? If so, which do you prefer? We've only tried SSR. Staying at BC, so location isn't really an issue.

Sorry, we haven't personally tried them yet, but we looked in to it...DW is a licensed massage therapist, so she was going to do one at SSR for "professional reasons" :), but we had cut back.

I have heard good things from both locations though.

We've done the spa at the GF several times. I've had massages and facials there and my girls have done the "My First Facial" "My First Manicure" and "My First Pedicure". We really like it and usually plan a girls day to go there. We do the gardenview tea room first and then walk over to the Spa.

You can absolutely take food and drinks back to your room from the Concierge Lounge! Mid-day snacks were things like cookies, yougurt pretzels, yummy kettle chips with a super dipping sauce, gummy bears, a selection of soft drinks, ice tea, lemonade, Evian, etc. We never made it for the late afternoon snacks, but I think beer and wine are available then (4-6)? In the evening there are desserts and assorted cordials.

Here is a link to my flickr account that has some pictures of the CL offerings:

(ignore the Le Cellier scallops photo, this was for someone on the Restaurant board)

You will have to go to the Concierge Desk to have the tickets added to your KTTW cards - that's not done at the front desk. That's after you check-in and get your keys. You are correct that if you do an online check-in, they really really try to get you into a Room Ready -- however that is more true at the YC and BC. Because the Villas are almost always 100% occupied, we have to block people about 5 days before they arrive. We can't have any holes obviously. Therefore, they rarely move people around in the Villas.

The online check-in saves you a little time but not that much. You still have to wait in line. It's just faster once you actually get to the CM. And honestly, if you did an on-line check-in, you are NOT suppose to stand there and ask for your room to be moved or stuff like that. The whole idea is to quickly sign the registration card, pick up your pre-printed keys and get away from the desk as quickly as possible.

My advice since you will want to ask if your room is near the canal and on one of the higher floors, is that you just wait and go through a normal check-in. Then if they say no, you could ask if you could be changed to a room that fits your requests and if they say none are available on the day you check-in (which is entirely possible), then you could ask to be set up for a room change when one is available, perhaps the next day (there's a fee for that though). These are not questions that should be asked if you do online check-in. You can certainly ask them but again, the whole reason behind the online check-in is to get you in and out. No matter which way you go, you unfortunately will still have to go over to the concierge desk to have your tickets put onto your keys.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for those nice words. I'm not sure of my October schedule yet. My husband and I are retired and as most of you all know, we love to cruise. And although we're doing the 7 night Disney Magic on 9/19, we are thinking about maybe doing another one in October. Just PM me when it gets closer and I'll know more about when we are going.

Well, Donald really really likes the BC. He's having lots of fun. He told me today that he just loves our breakfast. So, I don't think he's planning on leaving any time soon. However, there's always the possibility that he could get the flu or have a sore throat or something and then we never know who would show up in his place temporarily.

You will get two queens at the YC. However, you could get two queens and a daybed. If you don't get a daybed, you can always ask for a rollaway to be sent up. I've absolutely never heard of us running out of them or not sending one up to the room. Therefore, I wouldn't worry.

I'm much better thanks to the antibiotics. My hubby is horribly sick. Worse than I was. I don't think it's the same thing either ... some different symptoms. He missed work at the Contemporary today and will call-in again tomorrow and go see our doctor first thing in the morning. I'm really worried about him. In the 30 years we've been married, I've never seen him this sick but he won't go to the 24 hour clinic. Men are so stubborn!

OK, on to better stuff, but thanks for asking about me, I'm not into massages as much as my daughter and husband. I hate to spend money on me. They have both had them at the Grand and at the Contemporary and both said although at the Grand they felt pampered, they got better massages at the Contemporary. Never been to the other ones but my daughter and hubby rave about the Contemporary's massages.

I'll be working the 15th, 16th and 17th and then leave on the 18th to help my daughter in Vegas.
