Holy cow, I hope those DialIdol numbers are WRONG!!

My major pet-peeves this season (Hmmmm - actually, I have MANY pet peeves this season, so here are just a few of them of them!)...

The men on the show keep on initiating touching the women.
For instance,
Ryan keeps putting his arm around the women singers and
Simon keeps putting his arm on Paula's chair.
It indicates an attempt at control that I find oddly jarring. I noticed last night that one of the women stepped slightly away from Mr. Seacrest while he was hugging her - I think it was AlexanDREA? - but good for her.

I think this next one is Simon as well...
WHICH judge is thumping their arm over there during the critiques? I think it is Simon, when he puts his arm on Paula's chair. SOMEONE PLEASE turn down the mikes!

Ok, that was the few, but here's a major beef of mine this season...
Look, these people who work on this show are supposed to be the best at what they do. Fox & Freemantle certainly make enough money at this, all the crew should be the best in the world. So, why does the following keep happening...
Band just plain TOO LOUD.
Microphone levels are often *off*.
Drummer cannot seem to keep a decent beat. He either rushes AND he usually overplays his volume.
Backup singers are supposed to be BACKUP - not doing solos, not getting extended airtime, not drowning out the soloists/contestants.

Btw, Simon is Moe (the in-charge guy),
Paula is Curly (nyuk, nyuk, nyuk,...comic relief)
Randy is Larry (bug-eyed).
Ryan is the somewhat forgotten Curly Joe.

PS - Hey, I noticed that Mr Seacrest is no longer saying that this is THE MOST TALENETED SEASON EVER. Maybe the AI producers have actually started watching the train wreck they've been putting on each week.

Week Two – The Gals – Wrap-Up

Here we go RyMickey.....

The most talented top 20 ever… Really? Come on, at this point, I'm not buying it.

Carly Smithson – Crazy on You – I hate to admit it, but she was pretty good. She doesn't really have any charisma though. She just bores me.

Syesha Mercado – Me and Mr. Jones – I love this girl. Yes, she had a few iffy notes, but over all, she is my favorite girl this year. She may not be the best, but she seems consistantly good at least. This season, I'll take what I can get.

Brooke White – You’re So Vain – I don't like this girl. She is too bubbly for my tastes. I really didn't think she sang badly, she just doesn't entertain me - but no one seems to this year......is it me?

Ramielle Malubay – Don’t Leave Me This Way – Hated it. She has a great voice, but it was to choppy or discoey or somethingy, but whatever it was didn't work for me.

Kristy Lee Cook – You’re No Good – OMG RyMickey - you nailed it for my photo montage - Keri Russell. Anyway, she'll be lucky if she makes it past this week. She really was "no good" this week.

Amanda Overmyer – Carry on My Wayward Son – This one trick pony needs to be put out to pasture - or maybe sent to the glue factory. That was painful. And what is up with the skunk do? Man did she give me montage ammo tonight.

Alaina Whitaker – Hopelessly Devoted to You – I liked her more than most of them last night. It wasn't earth shattering, but at least it didn't make me want to cut off my ears.

Alexandréa Lushington – If You Leave Me Now – Don't like her either. I never have. She has sang well in the past, but she has a manly gangsta vibe about her that really turns me off. Actually, I think she should be singing with the men and Danny needs move over to the girl's side.

Kady Malloy – Magic Man – Another one that I didn't like - imagine that.

Asia’h Epperson – All By Myself – She is not talented enough to sing that song this early. But, if she had pulled it off, it would have been the best of the night. Even not pulling it off, she was better than 80% of the others.

Can't stand Kady...and Amanda! You know, as a person she seems pretty cool but I just do not get her as a singer.

Oh yeah, I made it a game last night to guess which contestants Randy would do his little laugh thing to before he made his comments.

I asked one of my young students if she watched Idol the other day (she's 7) and she enthusiastically said YES!. So I asked her which person was her favorite. She thought long and hard about it and then finally said "I don't know...but I don't like that man what's mean to everybody." I chuckled and said "You mean Simon?" Again she thought long and hard (eyes all scrunched up) and then asked "Is him the one what talks all funny?"

i did watch the show last night but couldn't hang out here on the boards because i was curled up in bed with the flu of course now that i'm feeling a bit better the first thing i had to do was log on to the DIS....I agree with whoever said that Amanda was awful last night but they still want her to stick around - I agree that she's unique for this show and I'm curious to see what she'll do next, even though last night's performance was a bit dreadful. She's the only girl I voted for just because she's the only one i found interesting last night.
I did love that we heard some Chicago & Heart songs - I can't believe Simon had never heard 'Magic Man' before?!? What??

I cannot believe that Simon hasn't heard MANY songs, this is supposed to be his profession! I was in radio for 20 years, I know songs NO ONE knows because they were part of my world. And some of the songs are classics! what the

Has simon ALWAYS done that wierd moose-antler thing with his thumb on his head?? We noticed it a lot tuesday night and again last night. (It was keeping us amused at least!)

I also brought this up on Tuesday night and made my family watch for it again last night. We've started calling him Moose. That was the most memorable part of last night's show for me.

I guess I hope Amanda and Kady are going home.

Wow I hope you feel better!! My wife is just getting over the Flu and Pneumonia. Crazy girl kept going to work too. i just went to the doctor today too HE VIOLATED ME. I wasnt sure if I should hug him or send him flowers. I even had to pay him.... I am not 40 years old yet I thought I wasnt suppose to get that till 40...I have 6 more years before 40. I need a hug and a cigarette after that. Geez....Kidney problems I have Polycistic Kidney Disease so anytime I have well we will just say problems I have to go to the doctor. Wife wouldnt touch me till I got checked.....

anyway had to Tivo the girls had to work last night getting ready to watch will tell you how much I like Kristy, Kady and Alaina when I am done....

DialIdol has Amanda in the #1 spot this week.

I think you gave Kady and Alaina a pass. IMHO, they were worse this week than Alexandréa, and much worse than Asia'h.

If the ladies can give Michael Johns a pass based on his Tuesday performance, I should be able to give Kady a pass . I honestly like Kady's voice. I thought she was actually really good last week...this week it left something to be desired. As far as Alaina, I don't mind her either.

Personally, I can't stand Asia'h's husky voice...I'm ready for her to impress me, but I'm not a big fan of raspiness in singers. As far as Alexandréa, I liked her last week...this week I couldn't stand her. However, I enjoyed her 'after' interview because she seemed to realize that it wasn't her best, and I appreciate when these singers recognize that they weren't all that great.

It didn't hit me until this week, but when I saw her hair, I instantly thought Felicity/Keri Russell. This should've made me like her more since I'm a Keri Russell fan...but it didn't...

I don't think she's talented enough to pull a song like that off at all...singing it this early has nothing to do with it, IMO. I agree, though, that if she had pulled it off, it would've been a song choice that would've rocketed her to the top of the girls.

I think we're agreeing in general again this season, although the guys bore me more than the gals this year...but it's pretty close...
