They are pretty good. I'm interested in seeing Carrie sing live, I saw her do a gospel song and that's the extent of seeing her live so I'll let you know after that. I've got front row at the Opry so I will have pictures.

THIS is the MOST TALENTED SEASON EVER.

:lmao:

And I continue to be appalled at the lack of pop music performing history that the judges constantly exhibit. The next time they reveal their ignorance I think I'm going to start calling them Larry, Moe & Curly...

agnes!

I would like to see some os those pics after the show..

Front Row WOW...the closest I have ever been to stage was row 5 at one of George Straits Country Music Festivals....I have seen George 8 times I prefer to be farther from the stage. You see George you are going to see singing nothing else. He is my favorite singer by far. Great great concerts, hated Garth Brooks and Shania in Concert. I wanna her a singer sing not a bunch of running around hollering stuff....they are usually so out of breath the singing sucks...Alabama was amazing in concert also. I saw them in Myrtle Beach at there Theatre.

Okay, here's my opinion. I don't know their names so I'll just go by what they sang.

1st girl:
Crazy on You. Okay, she's no Anne Wilson but that song is ridiculously hard to sing. Anyone who can halfway pull it off has my respect. :worship:

2nd girl:
Mr. Jones. I thought it was good but boring.

3rd girl:
Don't remember who went third so I'll review the You're So Vain singer.
She did well on the song but it's a very easy song to sing - so I am unimpressed.

4th girl:
Again, I'm probably out of order here, but...
You're No Good.
Listen to the words. It explains the performance. Again, another easy song to sing and she cheated on the high part. I can sing that song with very little effort.

5th girl:
Carry on my wayward son.
Oh dear. I really like that song too. It's a shame to hear it butchered so badly.

6th girl:
If you leave me now.
I liked it. It's a different song than they usually sing and she had really good timing.

7th girl:
Hopelessly devoted to you.
I didn't like it. She's a decent singer but she dragged the notes. You're supposed to hit the beats cleanly in that song. BUT NOW...There's no where to hide. She ran it all together.

8th girl:
Don't leave me this way:
I won a trip to Las Vegas singing that song. She was just behind the beat the whole time and in disco, keeping the timing right on is everything. That's why it didn't sound very good.

9th girl:
Magic Man.
Love the song but she didn't perform it well at all. I think the verses were too low for her and she couldn't get on key.

10th girl:
All by myself:
She is a good singer but I think she bit off too much in that song. That high note is impressive but would have been more effective in a less overdramatic song.

All in all, my favorites of the night...

The Irish chick. I think she has the most vocal talent.
Mr. Jones chick. She is talented but the song was boring.
If you Leave me now chick. I think there is a lot of potential there.

The Best

Brooke White – You’re So Vain
Carly Smithson – Crazy on You

Middle of the Pack
Syesha Mercado – Me and Mr. Jones
Ramielle Malubay – Don’t Leave Me This Way
Kady Malloy – Magic Man
Alaina Whitaker – Hopelessly Devoted to You
Kristy Lee Cook – You’re No Good

Bottom of the Barrel
Asia’h Epperson – All By Myself
Alexandréa Lushington – If You Leave Me Now
Amanda Overmyer – Carry on My Wayward Son

Going Home
Amanda Overmyer
??Alexandréa??Kady??Kristy??
DialIdol has Amanda in the #1 spot this week.

I think you gave Kady and Alaina a pass. IMHO, they were worse this week than Alexandréa, and much worse than Asia'h.

And Amanda made Vote For the Worst! :scared1:

I don't even remember any of the show so I guess I can't comment except to say I thought it stunk all around. Not one time was I drawn to a performance. It was disappointing all around and what the heck was Amanda thinking? Who ever is doing Hair for them needs to get the AX. They have all had bad hair- even the guys. imho
But I have to say my heart was breaking for Amanda when they ripped her apart. She looked like she was going to cry up there. That has got to be the worst feeling in the world. Pick on your singing is one thing but to call her a mess on tv is another.

Insert your favorite negative adjective here. ________ Except for one semi-good performance, the entire show was dreadful. The only good thing about it was it allowed me to flip over to TCM and watch most of On The Beach.

Carly Smithson – Didn’t know this song and really didn’t care. The only interesting thing about her performance was wondering if her “girls” were going to jiggle right out of her shirt. Get that woman some support! It was a screamy, sometimes off key form of torture and I gave her a 4. The only reason it was that high is because I didn’t know if there was worse yet to come.

Syesha Mercado – Me and Mrs. Jones – This girl can sing but tonight her voice warbled through most of the song and why the heck did she pick that song?? For the most part, the performance was a bore. She got a 3.

Brooke White – You’re So Vain – The judges loved it but perhaps the producers told them to look happy. I found it another boring entry. Her guitar playing was pretty good but her voice seemed to go flat at the end of every note. Gee Gregory Peck was good in On The Beach. Oh yeah, this is an AI report. She got a 3.

Ramiele Malubay Don’t Leave Me This Way – So far she’s the best of the night, which isn’t saying much. I gave her a 6.

Kristy Lee Cook – You’re No Good – At last, someone to get excited over. A really good vocal and OK stage presence, she was also more animated than all the rest put together. Maybe the night is starting to turn around. I gave her an 8.

Amanda Overmyer – Wayward Son? – Then again maybe it’s not. My girl was really off. Pitch problems through out and when she sang softly it was down right painful. I didn’t like her Munster hair do either. She got a 6.

Alaina Whitaker – Hopelessly Devoted To You. Zzzzzzzzzz. Her voice is OK but, Lordy, that was one of the most boring performances ever. She gets a 5.

Alexandrea Lushington – If You Leave Me Now – An OK song until the end when she had some really severe problems with pitch. She has little to no stage presence and it was…. You guessed it… BORING!!!! She got a 6.

Kady Malloy - ? Song – What is wrong with this chick? Her intros are amazing and then she comes on stage and falls flat on her face. I, for one, would love to see her sing opera. Because I didn’t know the song, I wasn’t sure if she was in tune or not. According to the judges, apparently she wasn’t. It was just pretty darn bad. She got a 2.

Asia’h Epperson – All By Myself – I missed the first couple of lyrics while I was watching the folks in Australia end it all but when I went back over to Fox I found Asia’s screaming. I thought maybe she’d been watching the movie too and was upset but apparently her screaming was part of the song. I’ll cut her some slack because of the sick factor but it was another so, so performance. She gets a 6.

Who I voted for: NO ONE!.
Who I think will go home: ANY OF THEM

Oh, and by the way, I think the Australians may have ended it all because they watched this show too.

DH and I thought last night overall was boring. Carly did a decent job with her Heart song... But magic man was awful.
We liked Brooke as well.
Most of the other performaces were just boring. (amanda was pretty bad, and we really WANT to like her... So we are rooting for her to stick around another couple of weeks at least)

Here is a question for you... Has simon ALWAYS done that wierd moose-antler thing with his thumb on his head?? We noticed it a lot tuesday night and again last night. (It was keeping us amused at least!)

OMG! I meant to put that in my post. It looks like he wants to grow antlers. :rotfl: He needs someone to talk to him about that. That and the gum chewing.

I asked one of my young students if she watched Idol the other day (she's 7) and she enthusiastically said YES!. So I asked her which person was her favorite. She thought long and hard about it and then finally said "I don't know...but I don't like that man what's mean to everybody." I chuckled and said "You mean Simon?" Again she thought long and hard (eyes all scrunched up) and then asked "Is him the one what talks all funny?"

Cute!

:rotfl: I know! What is up with that?! On Tuesday I wondered if he had a headache or something, but then he started doing it last night too.

Funny. DD12 was commenting on that last night too. She kept trying it on her own head and decided that it hurt so why would Simon do that?

My major pet-peeves this season (Hmmmm - actually, I have MANY pet peeves this season, so here are just a few of them of them!)...

The men on the show keep on initiating touching the women.
For instance,
Ryan keeps putting his arm around the women singers and
Simon keeps putting his arm on Paula's chair.
It indicates an attempt at control that I find oddly jarring. I noticed last night that one of the women stepped slightly away from Mr. Seacrest while he was hugging her - I think it was AlexanDREA? - but good for her.

I think this next one is Simon as well...
WHICH judge is thumping their arm over there during the critiques? I think it is Simon, when he puts his arm on Paula's chair. SOMEONE PLEASE turn down the mikes!

Ok, that was the few, but here's a major beef of mine this season...
Look, these people who work on this show are supposed to be the best at what they do. Fox & Freemantle certainly make enough money at this, all the crew should be the best in the world. So, why does the following keep happening...
Band just plain TOO LOUD.
Microphone levels are often *off*.
Drummer cannot seem to keep a decent beat. He either rushes AND he usually overplays his volume.
Backup singers are supposed to be BACKUP - not doing solos, not getting extended airtime, not drowning out the soloists/contestants.

Btw, Simon is Moe (the in-charge guy),
Paula is Curly (nyuk, nyuk, nyuk,...comic relief)
Randy is Larry (bug-eyed).
Ryan is the somewhat forgotten Curly Joe.

agnes!
PS - Hey, I noticed that Mr Seacrest is no longer saying that this is THE MOST TALENETED SEASON EVER. Maybe the AI producers have actually started watching the train wreck they've been putting on each week.
