Dh made the comment that Danny looks like a Japanese woman!

I also like Michael Johns! :)

Jill

LOL! I replayed him this morning and my son said something similar.... NOT DISworthy.... :scared: He HAD to hear what the judges said and he said what I thought... they HELD BACK! :rotfl:

Here's the DUH for the day:

For what it's worth, my favorites.................

David Archuletta
Michael Johns
& even David Hernandez

Fell asleep during during Colton Berry & Garret Haley because they were so boring for me.

Some very talented individuals. Hopefully the girls will be just as good.

Boy you all are a talkative bunch ;)

I was a little disappointed last night. I think the theme stuff so early on was a bad call. I would have liked to see the guys do more of their own thing.

My favorites were:

Jason C --- I am surprised, I didn't think I would like him but he's pretty good. I wish he would get rid of those dreadlocks though! I hate dreadlocks.

Robbie --- not the best song but he has a good voice and I want to see more of him.

David A --- Good, he's going to go far in this competition

David C --- I think he did a bad song choice. I just thought he was OK but my 8 year old son thought he was cool

Michael Johns ---- Oh yeah he's in it for the long haul ;)

Those I would like to see more of before I form an opinion is:

Jason Y --- BAD song choice, but I think he has a good voice. He is very easy on the eyes :)

Danny ---- I am just not sure about this one yet. I think I need to see him sing another song.

Luke --- I hope he gets a second chance. I want to see more of him

Colton --- this one I am totally up in the air about. Something about him just rubs me the wrong way. I don't know.

Ones I don't care if they go home on Thursday:

Garrett
David H
Chikezie

I just have to jump in here and say that I have a crush on Michael Johns!!!LOL:lmao: I thought he was great and have liked him since Hollywood. I also loved how he held the microphone just like Jim Morrison use to!! He even danced around a bit like him. He was my favorite last night along with Robbie, and Jason.

I also thought Jason looks like a young John Travolta. Luke doesn't look like Orlando Bloom to me, more like Hugh Jackman(wolverine).

I just don't see what all the hype is for David A. he drives me crazy. He's annoying and doofy!

DH and I were falling asleep from some of these performances but I blame that on the song choices. Why did they have to do 60's theme so early????

I agree, I wish they had NOT done a theme week so early on....

Unless the theme is "excellent song choices for everyone" it is a bit much to have 12 men singing in the same theme
But at least (after tonight) we are done with the 60's ...(we hope)

maybe next week will be 70's then the week after 80's...

I actually enjoyed last night. (despite the theme) I thought most of the guys have good voices, but some of them chose REALLY BORNING songs, and gave really boring performances.
Personally I find Danny a bit much. He is just a little over the top and it annoys me.
I'm looking forward to tonight!

We think the band was really 'off' last night. My DH (a former professional drummer) said the band was rushing the beat and I agree. There was one song that the poor guy could hardly get the words out in time. On some other songs the band seemed to either out of tempo with each other or rushing the beat. Does anyone else think that they might try to sabotage a performer they dislike?

And, again this year, we are getting close-ups of the back-up singers and the band, last year it got annoying. After all, the show isn't called BAND Idol.

agnes!

David Hernandez – ehh, snoozer

Chikezie – going home tomorrow

David Cook – he was just ok

Jason Yeager – yuk, hate that song, always have - he's probably going home too.

Robbie Carrico – love the song choice, was very good.

David Archuleta – he's got a good voice

Danny Noriega – YUK!!

Luke Menard – who???

Colton Berry – ehh

Garrett Haley – Simon was mean to him, he was ok.

Jason Castro – Best of the night, great voice, unique.

Michael Johns – I don't get what everyone sees in him, his voice is just ok to me, nothing special. I agree with whomever said that he should be fronting a band.

My votes last night went to Michael Johns, Jason Castro, David Cook and Robbie.

I guess David Archuletta is cute for a kid, but I dont do cute.
The one thing about him that bugs me is he is so breathy when he sings and speaks. I kept hearing a wheezing noise when he took his breathes (singing and talking).
Since he is not my favorite-I am sure he will go far. That always happens to me.

When Danny N. was on, my husband (who doesnt watch the show) said "Why is Jessica Alba on American Idol?"
My kids thought he was too emo and kinda creepy looking.
For me, the Leif Garrett look-a-like really scared me :scared1:

Didn't like Danny at all - and frankly I think he's a little too full of himself to be enjoyable this year. Definitely Sanjaya 2.0.

He really is full of himself. Check out his bio on the idol website.

Who is your favorite male pop star?

"Me" (and somebody else)

He looked like he was snarling at the end of the show when they were all standing on stage. Everybody else was congratulating each other and he was just standing there like he was too good for them. Then somebody came up and hugged him and the look on his face was priceless.

Oh no she DIDN'T!!

Week One – The Guys - Wrap-up

As Usual, I'm quoting RYMickey since I'm too lazy to retype all of this and we generally agree anyway.

I didn't enjoy this show at all. I have never wanted to hit fast forward so much during an episode of Idol and I had to make myself listen to everyone's entire performance. I did fast forward through the judges cause I wasn't in the mood for "hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog", "You look great (hiccup) tonight", and "it was all a bit like a high school talent competition". The judges are getting old and definitely need new material.

David Hernandez – In the Midnight Hour – I have liked what I have seen previously during auditions, but tonight he was just okay. His nerves seemed to take over and he did not look at all comfortable on stage.

Chikezie – More Today Than Yesterday – Chickezie is not easy on the ears - in fact I'll just call him Chikcheesy. I haven't been impressed at all by him. I didn't enjoy his performance and it is way too early to start dissing the judges - bad move on his part.

David Cook – Happy Together – I have to disagree with RyMickey on this one. I actually liked this performance. I'm not sure who he is yet though, and I'll need a couple more weeks to determine if he is going to be one of my favorites.

Jason Yeager – Moon River – Wow, now that was just bad. The vocals were fine, but he was just too oogie for words. Too threatrical. I felt like he was in the talent competition for Miss America.

Robbie Carrico – One – I really like this guy. I didn't care for the song, only because it is basically the same lyric over and over but I do think he is the real thing.

David Archuleta – Shop Around – I liked his voice, but I can see his Melinda "Awe Shucks" Doolittle attitude getting old quick. He won Star Search so it's not like he has never been told that he is good. The fact that he is so surprised that the judges liked him seems a bit over the top to me.

Danny Noriega – Jailhouse Rock – I don't like this kid. He is too flamboyant for my tastes. I did laugh when he made the comment to Simon. His performance was, in a word, manic.

Luke Menard – Everybody’s Talkin’ – He is very forgetable. It really took everything I had not to fast forward. But he is cute so I think he'll last another week. I think he can do better.

Colton Berry – Suspicious Minds – He is another that is not my taste. He sang well, but I'm just not drawn to him. I think he is good enough to stay another week, but I don't see him with star potential.

Garrett Haley – Breakin’ Up Is Hard to Do – Ewwwwwww! This kid is another one that should have been singing with the girls. What is with AI this year? Most of the guys seem way too girlie. I didn't like him at all. It was boring and nothing special. If you can't sing, you'd better have something else to make people vote for you and he ain't got it.

Jason Castro – Daydream – Loved this guy. He was very entertaining in a Mmbop, Hansen sort of way. He may be a bit too peppy for everyone. I definitely think he deserves to continue on. The hair looks itchy!

Michael Johns – Light My Fire – My best of the night. Maybe not the best vocals (I think the song is hard to sing and show vocal ability), but the best stage presence. He is not nervous, does not look or act like a girl, and has a good voice - Finally!

The Best
Michael Johns - Light My Fire
Jason Castro – Daydream
Robbie Carrico – One

Go Home!
Danny Noriega - Jailhouse Rock
Jason Yeager – Moon River
Chikizie – More Today Than Yesterday

For the "most talented season ever", I was quite disappointed.

I think Garrett looks like a Japanese Anime character, especially in the profile. That nose! Those cheek bones!

Too funny - mind if I use that when I do my comparisons????

I love love love David Archuleta!! My mom and I have loved him from the beginning and he's definitely our favorite in the competition. He did amazing tonight! And he's just way too adorable.

I've also liked David Cook and Michael Johns since the beginning and I thought they also did very well. Another of my favorites is Danny. He wasn't able to show his voice much from the song tonight, but I've liked him from his audition and Hollywood and I think he deserves to make the top 12.

So my top 6 guys would definitely consist of David A, David C, Michael and Danny. I don't really know too much about many of the others since I haven't seen enough of them. But I liked the other David (geez so many!), Robbie since I usually like the rockers, and I also thought Jason was interesting. The only thing is that he has really nice eyes and a nice smile, but I wish he would get rid of that hair!!

As for who goes home, I definitely think Chikeze should go home. I liked him just because his name was cool, but I definitely don't like his attitude. I didn't think he did that well, but that attitude that he gave Simon was just downright rude. He just wouldn't stop and acted like a jerk. I think he should go home just for that. As for who else should go home, maybe Luke or Garret. They were kinda boring.

I agree with you!:thumbsup2

UGH

Looks like Danny will be sticking around for another week. He's the top pick on VoteForTheWorst.com
