I swear all the blondes look similar! It's like watching quadruplets perform. Thank goodness Brook has curly hair - she's the only one I remember.

Carly...yawn...gotta agree with Simon. And the girl really needs a makeover - it's like she's trying to look old on purpose.

I liked Asia'h, Syesha and Ramiele and Brooke.

Week Two – The Girls – Wrap-Up

Overall, I’d say that the girls were better than the guys. There were only three or four that I really didn’t care for. While no one blew me away, there were a few surprises for me tonight.

Kristy Lee Cook – Rescue Me – She’s no Kelly Clarkson singing Respect in season 1, but this was somewhat respectable. For some reason, it all seems a little fake to me with her. She’s easy on the eyes, but something’s not quite there.

Joanne Borgella – I Say a Little Prayer – I thought it was okay until the last 10 seconds. You could see the nerves in her voice there at the very end. Wasn’t anything over the moon, but I like her. Not nearly as bad as Simon thought.

Alaina Whitaker – More Today Than Yesterday – What is up with these fast songs starting out slow? Liked this version much better than Chikizie’s yesterday. She didn’t blow me away, though.

Amanda Overmyer – Baby Please Don’t Go –So completely different for Idol. It made me smile. However, I didn’t really like the song. But she’s definitely comfortable on stage.

Amy Davis – Where the Boys Are – Moon River, Pt. 2. Corntastic. Except at least Jason Yeager could hit the right notes. This was awful.

Brooke White – Happy Together – There weren’t enough 60s songs, so that’s why we repeat from last night. I like Brooke, but I’m not sure she’s a great singer. Still, I enjoyed it.

Alexandrea Lushington – Spinning Wheel – I really loved it. I really like her “vibe” a lot.

Kady Malloy – Groovy Kind of Love – Really liked it at the beginning, but there were a few off notes in the middle. But, I still liked it quite a bit.

Asia’h Epperson – Piece of My Heart – I don’t like the tone of her voice at all. Much too raspy for my taste.

Ramielle Malubay – You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me – Pretty good. I wanted her to go all out a little more…could’ve had some more build up.

Syesha Mercado – Tobacco Road – Hated the song, but I thought she was great.

Carly Smithson – Shadow of Your Smile – Pretty boring song. Felt like she yelled too much through it.

My Thoughts

The Best

Syesha Mercado – Tobacco Road
Alexandrea Lushington – Spinning Wheel
Kady Malloy – Groovy Kind of Love
Ramielle Malubay – You Don’t Have to Say…

Middle of the Pack
Alaina Whitaker – More Today Than Yesterday
Brooke White – Happy Together
Amanda Overmyer – Baby Please Don’t Go
Asia’h Epperson – Piece of My Heart

Bottom of the Barrel
Joanne Borgella – I Say a Little Prayer
Carly Smithson – Shadow of Your Smile
Kristy Lee Cook – Rescue Me
Amy Davis– Where the Boys Are

Going Home
Amy Davis – definitely
Toss up for the other -- I feel it should be Kristy Lee Cook, but I think she’s “too well known” at this point…so maybe Joanne? Kady?

Dangit. GIrls were underwhelming tonight all around. I voted for Carly, Ramiele, Kady, and Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...huh? Wha?? Sorry I dozed off while I was typing. Residual boredom from tonights snoozefest. I blame the producers and 60's THEME week. I DID vote for two others but can't remember who (wait, it was Alaina and Brooke).

I REFUSE to vote for Kristy EVER. Selling her horse....cuts me to the core I tell you!

IMO, tonight was one of the worst nights ever. Granted, I am not a fan of the 60's, but still they were very bad, by and large.

Oh and Joanne and Amy are TOAST. Poor Jo's attempt was so pitiful that I nearly changed the channel, and Amy's made my dog do the thing where he tillts his head sideways when he hears something odd.

For those who are curious....Vote for the Worst is backing....

Amy Davis.

lol! i honestly don't know if i should feel bad for these people or not!

Wednesday nights I have bowling so I usually don't get home until about 9:30. So I was able to catch the last 3 performances, and then had to watch the rest that I recorded. I think that the first 3 performances that I saw (Ramiele, Syesha and Carly) were the best. I know a lot of people don't like Carly, but I think she's good.

As for Amanda, I really like her, but that song she sang tonight was just dumb, so I wasn't that into her performance. I also wasn't expecting to like any of the blondes, but I actually really liked Alaina. I don't think Kady did that well, but I like the sound of her voice and I hope she sticks around to see if she does better next week. And her Britney impression was crazy!! She sounded so much like her! I also thought Asia'h did pretty well tonight.

As for everyone else, they were just blah. The worst of the night were definitely Joanna and Amy. I would pick them as the ones to go home tomorrow.

As for the top 6 girls, so far I would say Ramiele, Syesha, Carly, Amanda, Asia'h and Alaina. I'm assuming at least one of the blondes will make it...I think it's like a requirement to have at least one blonde in the top 12 haha.

I think the person who chose the songs for the contestants should be fired. How can you have a show devoted to the 60's without including the Beatles, the Beach Boys or Motown? The songs were so dull I can't blame the Idols for how they sang. I liked Amanda and Michael the most

i'm very surprised that Simon actually liked that. i didn't think he would. but i'm actually really happy he did. Amanda just seems like a cool girl, and i like her style of voice. but most people who watch Idol don't like that type of music, Taylor Hicks/Jordin Sparks, anyone? aaaaaand.....where are they now?? hmm......

I just had to comment on this one. Are you serious about Jordin Sparks? She only won American Idol about 8 months ago or so and she's already had 2 singles out. They play them like crazy on the radio!!

Actually here's a link to one of New York's biggest radio stations Z100: http://www.z100.com/iplaylist/playlist.html?net=1. One of her songs is number 2 right now on the playlist. The other one is a little older and is now at 43. She is definitely still very popular.

I guess it really depends on what kind of music you listen to. I think Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks are probably the only two winners that have really been "pop" and are played on those type of stations.

I don't know if anyone else likes Cardin McKinney besides me but it seems something may be in the works for her, judging her Q&A and such on myspace.

Alexandrea, Asia'h, Carly, Ramiele and Syesha were all good; Amanda and Kristy Lee show promise, so I voted to keep them safe as well.

DialIdol's predictions are interesting this morning: According to them, NO ONE voted for Joanna.

A BIG thanks to RyMickey for keeping up with this stuff. Otherwise I'd be clueless or would have to suck it up and watch my DVR again....NOT!!:scared1:

Kristy Lee Cook – Rescue Me –

First bimbo blonde of the night. STUPID conversationalist, okay singer, nothing memorable.

Joanne Borgella – I Say a Little Prayer –Thought she was good at first but there's something about her voice. It doesn't have much of a bottom and she's kind of bland.

Alaina Whitaker – More Today Than Yesterday – Second bimbo blonde of the night.

Well, anything was better than Jacuzzi.

Amanda Overmyer – Baby Please Don’t Go –I like this girl but last night left me sort of "meh".
She definitely has promise though. Reminds us we're NOT watching a pageant:rolleyes:

Amy Davis – Where the Boys Are – EARNED her place on Vote For the Worst. I LOVE this song and it was baaaaad. :scared:

Brooke White – Happy Together – Blonde Number 3
blonde.gif
She was better than the rest of the gaggle of blondes but not much more.

Alexandrea Lushington – Spinning Wheel – Now this is one cooooool kid. She is very confident and I like her stage presence. Great Grandma must be proud!:thumbsup2

Kady Malloy – Groovy Kind of Love –
Okay, Bimbo blonde number FOUR
blonde.gif
I kind of liked this song, but I like Groovy Kind of Love anyway. She seemed like she was going to go postal during the judging... PMS? You better MAN up bimbo, those guys don't just like you because you're POP u lar....:rolleyes1

Asia’h Epperson – Piece of My Heart – Love her, raspy is a nice change! Lots of energy, but still didn't blow my mind.

Ramielle Malubay – You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me – I liked her!!! I don't know why I thought I was going to hear a bad imitation of Bai Ling, she was actually "get down" good! No geisha girl here!

Syesha Mercado – Tobacco Road – Syesha belts a bit too much for me, but she IS good.

Carly Smithson – Shadow of Your Smile – She blew the buzz. I never really cared for her even before the buzz.

My top two: Alex and Ramielle

My bottom: Amy and 3 of the blondes, don't ask me who??? :confused3

Another night of mostly suffering through the 60’s. As one who enjoyed her “formative” years in that decade, I take offense in the way AI has portrayed it. Really, it was much more interesting than this mostly yawn fest we were exposed to last night. Here’s my take on the top 12 gals.

Christy Lee Cook Rescue Me – So right off the bat we were informed that the flu has swept through the contestants. I tried to keep that in mind while I watched Ms Cook. BTW, there was no Ms’s back in the 60’s. She’s got a nice voice but so did thousands of other people who auditioned for AI but maybe didn’t have her looks. It was the same ole, same ole. Nothing special and it didn’t do anything for me. She gets a 4 and a YAWN!

Joann Borgella – Say A Little Prayer – Screechy and pitchy. See above. Another 4 for her. And did I mention I’m bored?

Alaina Whitaker – More Today Than Yesterday – I actually liked her performance. She’s only 16, something I suspect we’ll be hearing over and over ad naueum, if she stays in the mix. Good stage presence and a pleasing voice, I think she’ll improve as the weeks go by. She got a 7.

Amanda Overmyer – Baby Please Don’t Go – THIS was the 60’s that I remember. The whole thing worked from her clothes to the song to her attitude. YES! YES!! YES!!!!! I could rave on and on about how she totally capture the era but her score tells the story. Not the best voice but the only one who entertained me last night. She gets a 10+++.

Amy Davis – Where the Boys Are – Was that sung in the key of A FLAT. Oh dear, it was painful. Maybe she was one of them who really got bit by the flu bug but I found her voice very weak and there was no stage presence. She gets a 2.

Brooke White – Happy Together – Ok vocal and stage presence but I’ve always hated that song. Geez, I’m going to sound like Paula but that girl has the prettiest blue eyes. Nothing memorable here, she got a 6/b].

Alexandrea Lushington – Spinning Wheel – I had to agree with Simon on this one, he didn’t like her and wasn’t feeling the Randy and Paula love. Neither was I. Her voice just isn’t strong enough for a song like Spinning Wheel. I found it painful at times. The attitude didn’t improve my opinion of her either. She got a 3.

Kady Malloy – Groovy Kind of Love – I had to disagree with the judges 100% on this call. I loved her performance. My goodness this gal has a beautiful voice. In fact she may be the best singer of all the girls. I hope there are others out there who ignored them as well. I’d like to hear more of her vocals. She got an 8.

Asia’h Epperson – Piece of My Heart – Can we not let anyone ever sing a Janis song on this show? It was at this point I think Simon had a breakdown… he liked her the best?? Of course he told that to one of the other girls a few minutes later. It just wasn’t that good. Lackluster kept coming to mind. I gave her a 5.

Ramiele Malubay – You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me – The girl from season 4, Nadia Turner, did this better but Ramiele’s performance was quite good. She has great control over her voice and while here stage presence needs work, I want to see more. She gets a 9

Syesha Mercado – Tobacco Road – Ugg, didn’t like this very much. Her timing seemed to be off and ladies… Screaming doesn’t equal singing!!! I gave her a 5 and most of that is because she’s from Florida.

Carly Smithson – Shadow Of Your Smile – I’ve mentioned I don’t really care for this girl but I did like this number. She also needs to scream less because her voice is really beautiful. She also needs to keep her eyes open more. After last night, I dislike her less and she gets an 8.

Who I voted for:
Amanda
Kady
Ramiele
Carly

Who I think will be going home:
Amy Davis
???

As always, JMHO! :teeth:

he he he Quints!:rotfl2:

Kristy Lee Cook – Rescue Me –YAWN

Joanne Borgella – I Say a Little Prayer –eh just ok middle of the pack I think

Alaina Whitaker – More Today Than Yesterday – I felt like I was on a cruise ship and I needed a drink to keep listening.

Amanda Overmyer – Baby Please Don’t Go I really like her! I thought she put it all out there and has a good souly type voice. TOP 3 for the girls for me

Amy Davis – Where the Boys Are – Well I now where they are not- they are not listeing to you. Horrible. She was so flat the entire song it was painful to listen to.

Brooke White – Happy Together – Too stinking happy.

Alexandrea Lushington – Spinning Wheel – Wow! I Loved her working the stairs and she seemed so much older than her age with her stage presence. She has IT. Top 3 for me!

Kady Malloy – Groovy Kind of Love –
Wow she is one angry girl. It was ok but her attitude. See ya.

Asia’h Epperson – Piece of My Heart – good but not great. I like her but I wasn't overwhelmed by last night.

Ramielle Malubay – You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me – Love her! Lover her family! She is great TOP for me last night

Syesha Mercado – Tobacco Road – I liked it. Better than I expected. And I liked the way she took it on. Not what I would have thought she would have picked. So I liked it.

Carly Smithson – Shadow of Your Smile – Bleck. Is Randy High? Oh wait he is remembering that he gave her a contract already and is trying to keep the hype on her. I didn't see it. She's no Bono.
