For the record, I don't care if there are "plants" so long as I am thoroughly entertained this season. Seriously, they could stick a wig on Jon Bon Jovi, Bono, and Christina Aguilera change their names and pass them off as ingenues and I'd just be happy to not have to sit through another dreadful season like last year.

Plant away AI, just make it GOOD.

I'm never surprised at what goes on behind the scenes, I've been a "behind the scenes" person for years. Nothing matters but the mighty dollar. The people with PR companies and agents are getting in if they garble "America the Beautiful" in Japanese! What kills me is when the judges have to go into "phony mode" and like them no matter what. It's so fake it's embarrassing but if we just see AI as what it is .... ENTERTAINMENT ... it won't be so hard to take.

Lots of the "kids" on the AI boards get so mad about it. It's just BUSINESS.... show BUSINESS.

The kid who lives in his car...I like him. What WAS he singing with his keyboard?? Did he write that song or is that something already out there? It was very interesting. I would like to say that he better get over himself as far as his music arrangement needs if he's going to make it in the show.

It's "Grace Kelly" by Mika. I like Josiah because he is different and indie. I think AI needs some variety or you end up like last year with a lot of girls with big voices that no one can tell apart.

I agree. I will take plants any day over last year's crap.

We noticed the same thing

I am really looking forward to the competition really getting started next week.
I am terrible with names, so even though I LOOKED at the spoilers list It didn't do me much good. I figured out a FEW of the people, but for most I am in the dark... And thats ok with me

Yup, I noticed it too and brushed it off as maybe they were all taking something for their voices.

Perhaps they were taking throat lozenges? I noticed a few were spraying Chloraseptic in their mouths.

I also noticed the blue tongue on Carly and thought it was a tattoo, but then I noticed other people with blue tongues. The PP is probably right about some of them taking something to sooth their throats.

Yep, we noticed it too! Very odd! First we thought it was maybe something they drank, then DH said maybe it was the lights. It sure was weird though, what ever it was!

I like a lot of them so far... I love Josiah and Michael. I think the politician would be cute if he lighted up a bit... and without his glasses he has gorgeous blue eyes. I wish they would have showed more of the farmer Drew... did we see him sing at all?


I am so glad they go rid of the self proclaimed beauty queen. I still like Kristie Clark and the other Brooke too.

I think I'm the only one not crazy about the paralyzed vocal cord kid! (Sorry, I am not good with the names.) I get distracted when when he takes a breath in and you can hear that whistle noise in his throat. Am I crazy? Does no one else hear it? Last night I found myself listening for that.

Add me to the list of Michael Johns fans! Wow! And I'm not even a Doors fan.

I love the Nurse, Bike Rider, can't think of her name, She sounds like Janis Joplin, Awesome voice.

Me too!!! I think she is really good! Plus, she is from Indiana like me, so I have to root for a fellow Hoosier! Hopefully she will make it into the top 24 tonight!

David Archuleta!! He's my favorite so far. I hope he goes all the way in the competition: he's cute, has a great voice, and has zero ego. Amazing for a 16-year-old! I think he'll be a huge favorite with the young girl voters...and us old ones too.

David Hernandez was also really good; he has great stage presence. I also liked Michael Johns - awesome voice. I hope all 3 of these guys make top 10!

Oh man i had to turn the channel during the looooong Carly segment. I actually found it insulting that they tried to build all this suspense about if she would make it. I kind of feel like the powers that be have already decided that she's going to win this thing. granted, a lot of people said the same thing about melinda last year so who knows.
