Carly has a really good voice, don't get me wrong, but she kind of bores me whenever she gets on stage. i don't know what it is. she's definatly talented, but just kind of boring.

i think she's just more reserved than most people. you have to understand, when someone is "different" like that, you're used to being under a lot of heat from people calling you a "Freak" and "weirdo" and...even worse names. so you kind of close yourself off and come across as shy, or sometimes even stuck up when it's just how you are. because in high school i was the one with the crazy hair and clothes and i was the most straight-edge person you could ever meet, but just because of my appearance, people made judgements, and it made me close myself off a lot. i've gotten better since i met my DH2B actually, because he's got a lot of friends and close family and i've opened up a lot more.

Especially when you put yourself out where your most treasured ability is at risk of being torn apart.

Hey I understand that - so was I - I actually had to switch high schools when I was 15 because I was getting teased all the time for being too "gothy" - not that you would know that by looking at me today! I could see if she was a teenager but she's 23, and she's not really that "different". She IS different for this competition, which is wonderfully refreshing!
(And indeed...I even know what it's like to be called a "weirdo" and worse on national television )

Who sang this song that Carly is singing? I am very familiar with music and artists, but this one just barely rings a bell. There's tons of well-known music from these decades, and a few people have been picking some odd and obscure ones.

Also - what's up with the waistline of some of these pants the girls are wearing .

This girl is beautiful and seems really sweet, but I sure don't like her twangy voice.
