Person on a loop I'm on just got this...

Dear Disney Guest,

Re: Order Number(s): xxxxx

Thank you for your recent order in which you redeemed a $15 Holiday
Magic Card. We have just learned that information about the Holiday
Magic Card was inaccurately posted on certain Web sites and email
services without Disney's prior knowledge or authorization. Disney
provided the Holiday Magic Card only to Disney Guests who
participated in a retail promotion that ended earlier this year.

Use of the Holiday Magic Card is subject to all the terms and
conditions printed on the back of the Card, as re-printed below.
Each Card is valid for only one transaction and cannot be used in
connection with certain merchandise and other offers, as stated in
the terms and conditions.

To enable us to release your order for shipment, we need to match
your actual Holiday Magic Card with our records of your actual
order. Please mail your Holiday Magic Card(s), along with your
name, address and Order Number(s), to:

Holiday Magic Card Redemption
Disney Online
P.O. Box 29144
Shawnee Mission, KS
66201-9144

Upon receipt and verification of the above, we will release your
order and credit your account for any applicable Holiday Magic
Card discounts, plus $.39 for postage reimbursement. If we do not
receive your Holiday Magic Card by midnight on November 23, 2002,
your order will be canceled.

If you have any questions, please contact us at
guest.services@disneyonline.com or call us at 800-362-8319.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

AND on top of everything else, they are LIARS! They did NOT just learn about this problem, they knew about it a week ago.

The longer this goes on, the less I like Disney. And a boycott on my part sure would save me a ton of money!

I think Disney could have handled things differently but I blame the people who abused this promotion more. There was a woman on a loop who placed 68 orders. Those people ruined it because the article said that initially Disney was honoring the extra orders until the abuse got out of control. Can you imagine...just ONE person ordered over $1000 in free merchandise. We're in a bad economy here people! I love Disney as much as the next person and I would hate to see them go under so she can and who knows how many others can get $1020 in free merchandise. If they didn't cancel orders, we would see them make up for it in other ways. So WE would end up paying for HER $1020 in free merchandise.

Disney isn't applying this fairly I can tell you that.

I just opened the door and on my front porch is my first order. 2 snowglobes and a Pooh jacket. Total of $107 spent after the $15 discount and free shipping. They honored the $15 off even though I don't have the card.

Then, I get the email stating they aren't going to honor my other 2 purchases. One was for $2.25 (and that is only cause they had me call them and gave me free shipping on it! and the CM knew I had used the HOLIDAY code cause she put that in the computer) and the other one was for a Pooh gram for $22.

I think they should either honor them all or honor none of them that don't have the cards. I will be sending them an email shortly.

It sounds to me as if they are honoring ones over a certain dollar amount.

Like they don't have attorneys who study marketing and stuff in school. They just stink--that's all.

It makes me so mad. But will I stop shopping Disney? Probably not. Now *I* make me mad. :p

Just a reminder to keep things friendly and informational. Debating posts will be removed. We have a Debate Board for people who would like to Debate this issue.

THANKS! :)

Boy, did I send them a nasty e-mail. First the Annual Passholder party desaster at the Animal Kingdom, then the prematurely-withdrawn $10 DVD offer at the Disney Stores, and now this; three major screw-ups within half a year.

I got an email for my lilo & stitch pre prder but not for my toy story order (yet?). I assume that's because the pre order clearly violates the terms of the card (which I didn't know about).

Funny I received the second order I placed, and of course the one with the highest cost to me! Anyway, since I was not entitled to any of the items, because I did not earn the code legitimately, I thought they should have suggested that all orders be cancelled. I sent them an e-mail that I was not entitled to the order they sent me, so I'd like to send it back--I was sent the standard "how to return merchandise" spiel-- I know they didn't really read my correspondence though, because I worded it such that the canned answer would not answer my question.
Will I stop visiting Disney, spending money on Disney merchandise, etc. of course not. I will however purchase the same or similiar items more cheaply from their commpetitors (DVD's from Wal-mart, PJ's from K-Mart, rather than from the website or the store). Why should I pay more for the same items, just because I'm a loyal customer? I don't really care that they don't want to honor the orders, I just don't think they did the right thing. All or nothing, admit your mistake and let only legitimate orders fly. I guess I'd better get back to shopping for the Christmas gifts I thought I had finished! LOL:(

They sent me an e-mail that I could not use the HOLIDAY disc for the pre-order L&S. I havent heard anything about my other order.

OK,

First question:
I placed an order on Nov, 2. What day did everyone place theirs?

I have not received an email either.

I ordered ornaments that I used the card for.

I knew that I was supposed to have received the holiday card because I placed an order in September and that was the free promotion. When the package arrived, I never checked my order after I received it because I just did not open the box (I know kinda goofy)
I opened the box this morning thinking the holiday card would be in there, and it was not.

My second question
Was the holiday card supposed to be sent with the order, or was it supposed to be shipped out in a different order? Either way I have no Holiday card, but my reciept shows I should have received one.

This is bizzare. I think Disney did not ship out the cards to everyone who should have received one.

It sounds as though Disney knows or can find out who those cards went out to. Give them a call & see if they can help.

I just sent a complaint to Michael Eisner about the HOLIDAY fiasco through PlanetFeedback.com. I have used this site before when I had a problem at a restaurant and my complaint was handled quickly and I was very happy with the outcome.

I hope it works again!

PlanetFeedback.com is a site that helps you write a letter and they forward it to a CEO of the company. You can file a complaint, suggestion, or simply praise a company that went out of their way.

You can check other's letters to the same company also... there were a few that were written about the holiday code.

I still have not received my cancellation email yet..........the order in the disney store still says active, but is still at the distribution center. Does anyone esle have this?
