Quick question... How long is the boat ride to DTD? We have an ADR for dinner at Cap'n Jacks one night and I'd like to allow enough time. Thanks

The boat goes POFQ to POR to POFQ to DTD in a continuous loop. I thought it was about a 20 minute ride but I would actually allow 45 minutes because sometimes you have to wait a while for the boat. I'ld rather be early than worry about being late.

We are going in Nov for the first time and was wondering if you can see the kiddie pool/main pool from the jacuzzi?

I can't tell from the maps or pictures.

No, the view of the main pool and kiddie pool are blocked by the building where the laundry/bar are located.

Definitely allow a little extra time if the weather is iffy. Any chance of lightning and the boats shut down. Luckily, it's a short walk back to the bus stop at POFQ--one of the things I love about this resort!

maybe someone can answer this. I'm kinda worried about this. The POFQ info says that the beds are double beds. Are they big enough for 2 adults to sleep comfortably? As I couldn't get a king bed........none was left. I am still putting in a request in case one does open up but if we don't will we be okay? As we'll probably just use one of the beds unless its too small. I'm like 5'5 and pretty thin, the bf is like 5'9 and 160.

Also has anyone taken a laptop with them here? Will they fit in the safe? If not do you just leave them in your suitcase? Or do you have them store them up at the front desk? I'm really only considering doing this so I can upload my pictures off the memory cards each night. If I don't is there a way to do this at the resort?

I think you'll be fine in a full size bed-they are about 6" shorter and 6" less wide than a queen bed.

I've never brought a PC with me but you can have pictures transfered from a memory to a CD at the photo shops at the parks. I think its a pricey way to go though. Memory has become so cheap. You want to ask over on the photo board about the price of the CD and how many pictures they hold.

You should be fine in the full size beds, if not well then you can each have one, :confused3 The laptop will not fit in the safe. I'd just buy a larger card for your camera. You can have Disney burn them to a CD for under $15, if need be.

Others have already told you about transferring your photos to a cd at WDW. Laptops will NOT fit inside the safe at POFQ. I have not taken my own, so I have no personal recommendations for where to leave one in your room if you wanted to take it.

If you want to see what the room safes at POFQ look like, I posted a photo on this thread (post #4) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1426576

has anyone ever used the front desk safe box to store your laptop in while you are not in the room? If so was it a big problem to get it at night after you returned?

I've never done it so I'm really no expert but I would think your laptop would be safer in your room. You would have to wait in line morning & night to drop it off/pick it up. Way more hassle than I would want to deal with.

What kind of camera do you have? What type of memory does it use? Have you priced memory recently? It has really dropped in the last few months. I have a Sony 7 mega pixel camera. The Sony memory sticks are about the most expensive out there and I just bought a 2GB stick for $35. That's about 600 photos at full resolution. I've got enough memory for about 2,000 photos now. I think that will work for me.

I have 2 camera's I am bringing with me. One is just a pocket camera. The other is my pentax dslr. I have bought 4 1 gig sd cards and also have a 256 card for the small camera. I probably will just leave the laptop at home but it would be nice to be able to upload the pictures each night.

Thanks for the pictures. My wife and I are heading down there for 6 nights beginning Sunday. Sure looks like a nice resort. This will be a good follow up for us to AKL which we stayed at in 2005.

Everybody cheer :cheer2: Everybody do the banana dance  Give me a great woo hoo :woohoo: I am finally booked at the POFQ! Now we just have to count down the days :hourglass

Congratulations and a big "WOO HOO"  for you. We are trying POFQ for the first time this year (see my pre-TR below) and are so excited. When are you going??

We are going December 1-9 for our son's 6th birthday. We got a standard room with a request of either building 5 or 2. Wonder if any one has any pictures of these buildings and rooms? Hmm...;)

I would like to see pictures too! ;) I also requested building 2 or 5. We paid preferred so I want a view of the river! We'll be there August 12-18! YAY!
Good luck on your request!

I remember reading about your adventures as the WL flag family. That was a good TR. I'm going to go start reading your pre-trip.

We just booked a trip for POFQ for June 21st-25th. It's a quick trip down to WDW to celebrate my twins' 6th birthday. It's our first time staying on-site and I'm really looking forward to it.
