Both buildings 2 and 5 are near the pool. I'm not sure if building 4 is still smoking or not. When I talked to the resort themselves awhile back, they were asking people not to smoke in building 4. Notice I said "asking".

Not all of Building 4 is smoking, we were on the 3rd floor and never smelled smoke and the smell makes me sick, I can smell it if the person in a car in front of me at a light is smoking with the windows up.

One of the great things about the POFQ is the size of the resort you can get from one end to the other in about 10 min.

The pool is located between building 2 and 5.

Like others have said, building 2 and 5 flank the pool. 5 is all n/s, and 2 is part n/s and part smoking. I know because we're very sensitive to smoke, and we were put into a n/s room in bldg 2, but asked to move to 5 to make sure we wouldn't be too near the smoking rooms.

And my kids did love the pool.

I booked POFQ for the last week in August with Free Dining. They didn't have a standard room available, but I got a water view. What buildings are water views? As it gets closer to vacation, I'll see if I can get a standard view, don't want to spend extra money just so I can see the river. Thanks!

We were able to book w/ Free Dining today. I'm very excited to stay at this resort and the kids are bouncing off of the walls. They love the Double Lagoon pool.

Disney does consider water view to also be a view of the pool. When I booked today I couldn't get in POFQ, so I'm at CS. Oh well.

I'm the opposite way! I wanted CS and couldn't get it so I booked at POFQ.

We just paid for our plane tickets! We'll be staying at POFQ and I'm psyched. I don't know - or care - which building we're in, as long as it's non-smoking and QUIET (I'm a terrible sleeper).

Now, to just wait 6 months....

For those of you going during Free Dining, when are you going? We'll be there 31 Aug - 3 September. I may put some lime green mickey heads in our window!

We're going 9/22-10/6! We may have to do the LGMH thing this time, too. Make sure to leave some beignets for the rest of us. ;)

It was the opposite for our week--no water views available but standard view is still available, even today. Fine with us, as we agree with you--don't want to pay extra for water view. I think water view means either pool or river. 5 and 2 are around the pool, and I think 1, 2, 5, 6 & 7 will probably all have some river view rooms. Here's a link to a map:

Who else is going? Hope to see some of you there!

Okay, wanted to update you on something I found out today.

I had gotten concerned about having a roll away bed after some of the postings on this thread, so I called POFQ directly. At first, I was connected to a central office. That agent put me on hold, and came back "Yes, I see you have requested a roll away, and one will be provided if they are available at check in." I asked if she was AT POFQ, and she said no. I explained that the front desk has been denying these requests, so she connected me to POFQ directly.

When I spoke to Ann at the POFQ, she had a slightly different story. Yes, they sometimes have roll aways. She again asked how many people in my party. I said "I'm not trying to add a 5th person. I have a 15 year old girl and a 13 year old boy and they don't share a bed." She said "If there's one there, they will provide it ..... for a $15 fee per day." I said "I was told NO CHARGE". She said "Sorry, there's a charge!"

So I called central reservations, and ended up changing to POR Alligator Bayou. The agent I spoke to said that reservations is NOT supposed to offer rollaways ever since each resort's policy is different. I did explain that my initial agent had put me on hold and verified that he could do this before adding it to my reservation.

At first, only water views were available (about $60 more for the reservation length). I explained politely that I thought I should be able to move at no upcharge, since my requirements were clearly stated on the reservation and that they could not be met at POFQ. And that if I had been told there was a charge for it, I would have booked AB to begin with. She ended up getting a guest services rep, since the booking agents can't change rates.

I then spoke to Elizabeth Ann, who "found" me a standard view room at POR AB.

So the end result is that you won't be seeing my LGMH at POFQ.

Just wanted to share in case anyone else has bad info out there.

Hi!

I just have to ask -- so how do you display your LGMH? I have one on the outside cover of my little pouch I carry around my neck, but I haven't had one at a room. Are the doors magnetized? Do you use tape? Just curious!

I'm curious too ... also, where do you find these LGMH? I keep hearing about them, but I have to admit I really have no clue what they are. :confused3

You get the LGMH at Home Depot in the paint dept. The doors are magnetic. So you can stick some magnetic tape to them or just tape them to the window. I'm not sure how they feel about taping things to the door.

Quick question... How long is the boat ride to DTD? We have an ADR for dinner at Cap'n Jacks one night and I'd like to allow enough time. Thanks

Once the boat pulls away from the dock, no more than 15 minutes. And once you dock at DTD, Cap'n Jack's is right next door to the dock.
