The 10 Most Romantic Places in the World?

my hubby proposed to me right near Sleepy Hollow during Spectro...so that will always be my favorite place at night! It's quiet (the little sitting area there), tucked away and, of course, very special to me.

We love to stroll along the Yacht and Beach Resorts find a comfy, white bench and watch Illuminations.

My idea of romance? Squeezing into Dumbo for a ride over Fantasyland after dark. Or if it's too tight a squeeze, riding on the Carousel, again, after dark. Can't understand why DH says my idea of romance is strange!

Here are my two: The beach at the Polynesian watching the fireworks in the MK and the walkway around the Boardwalk/Swan/Dolphin/Yacht and Beach Club in the evening.

There is a bench tucked away off the path behind Cinderella's castle where DH and I stopped to rest on our last WDW trip. We sat there, tucked away from the crowd, overlooking the castle. It felt like we were all alone, just the two of us and the castle. Very romantic!

Although not as isolated, we also loved strolling through the rose garden between Future World and World Showcase in Epcot. Another favorite garden spot was the garden in Canada by Le Cellier. We thought both these gardens were full of romance.

Definitely one of the more romatic settings is a carriage ride at POR. Our trip included Becky and Ike and was the highlight of my 3-night birthday extravagant trip. DH must really love me to go on this during the second quarter of the Superbowl!! LOL

I highly recommend any of the carriage rides.

Heck, I'm not even going to date the person who wrote that list of 10!

(1) What about the Wedding Pavilion?!?! No, it's not open to the general public, but just walking past it is more romantic than half the places on that list. And if nobody's looking, you can put your nose up to the glass (figuratively speaking of course ;) ) and look inside. It is VERY nicely decorated, and has a direct view of Cinderella's castle.

(2) California Grill may not be as expensive as V&A, but the view is simply spectacular, and can include beautiful sunsets and/or fireworks. I would rate a window table at CG as much more romantic than V&A.

(3) How about a honeymoon suite at the Grand Floridian, or the GF lobby itself?

(4) A 2BR suite at AKL with a huge balcony overlooking the Arusha savannah.

(5) The Polynesian beach is nice, yes, but for true romance, get "lost" on one of the torchlit pathways between the Polynesian and TTC late at night. Or take a moonlit walk along the pathway from the Polynesian to the Grand Floridian. You may well have it to yourself...

(6) A ride in the front of the Epcot monorail for just the two of you. (And of course, the driver.)

(7) Cuddle up on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority for an after-dark ride.

Also, no fair nominating an entire park as a "romantic place". You have to pick one spot, like KayCee did.

Personally, I was very disappointed in the list. Maybe because it is too broad and I like to hear about the little things.

One place that I think is romantic is the boat ride from DD to OKW. If you are the only ones or even 2-3 couples it is beautiful in the dark. The lights from PI make it romantic and it is quiet. Especially romantic if it is warm with a slight breeze.

Erik bringing up Tomorrowland Transit Authority sets up another cool question -- what's the most intimate ride?

Spaceship Earth has to be up there. It's seating for two in a slow-moving ride that is mostly in the dark. The barrier dividing the 2x2 seating is high so you really do feel like you're alone.

Others like Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan feel fairly intimate even though you are often within sight of other riders.

Astro Orbiter is pretty intimate too.

Can't think of too many more offhand. Obviously by intimacy I'm not referring to a den of carnal inferno! Yet those are rides where you can cuddle up, sneak in a random peck here and there, and still not feel as if you're offending others.

I like this thread! Let me see... romantic places... I have to say that I think CSR is romantic as a whole, especially after dark. Walking through all the courtyards with the lush foliage and hidden fountains, the lights from El Centro bouncing off the lake... or rocking in a hammock on the beach near the Cabanas. There's also the nature trail (with the hidden Mickey) that you can stroll through. I love that place.

I went on the Peter Pan ride for the first time on my last trip and that is romantic! Soaring through the air with a loved one...

Let's keep this going!

I like the Jungle Cruise at night. You can often get a boat to yourself, and simply ask the captain to avoid the banter.

Sleepy Hollow? Where's that?

I love the Tomorrowland Transit Authority! It's one of my favorite rides, and it's the most romantic at night. And it never has any wait... in fact, most times we've gotten an entire train of cars to ourselves!

The Walt Disney World Railroad can also be really romantic at night. You rush by in the woods, and it's peaceful and there are rarely many people riding that late in the day.

I like attractions at night:)
